Durian

[edit]

I think that it should be noted that the food that Andrew Zimmern cannot eat is the Durian fruit. He has tried it twice and not been able to put it down.

What do you mean by that? BTC 00:25 UTC 14 October 2007

Is that actually noteworthy in his biography?Ragreen (talk) 00:17, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Zim1.jpg

[edit]

Image:Zim1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Found a free photo and added it - it does have Zimmern posing with a restaurant owner, but it will do until a free, solo portrait comes along. Feel free to swap this one out for a replacement! Geoff T C 23:21, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace

Was he born at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York in Manhattan? Badagnani (talk) 02:11, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Background

[edit]

Not to offend, but this is just about the most uninformative thing I've ever seen in a biography. There's no mention of training, or just how he came to start "formal training" when he was only 14 years old... nor is there any mention of a single restaurant in NYC that he was either an executive chef or general manager of--I'm not terribly comfortable with "several" as some kind of reference. It reads like some newbie's resume.Ragreen (talk) 00:27, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome to add that to the article. Zimmern isn't the most famous chef or even host, so early information like that can be hard to find. His Travel Channel biography and the other links may be of use but don't have the specifics you're looking for. Reywas92Talk 03:16, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How exactly did he bankrupt several restaurants? - --209.244.30.253 (talk) 20:07, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, that sentence makes no sense. 99.156.236.128 (talk) 22:34, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Anthony Hollenback?

[edit]

The sentence "He met Anthony Hollenback while doing some work there, who he avoids showing in his shows due to problems with his parents" pretty much conveys no useful information without more background. It raises more questions that it answers. Who is Anthony Hollenback? Why should we care that Zimmern met him? Why would he appear on his shows to start with, and what kind "problems with his parents" would relate to that?

This either needs to be explained or deleted.--Ericjs (talk) 16:06, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. I was just watching the show and Googled to find out about his "no alcohol" policy, then came across this (no offense Wikipedia) NONSENSE entry with the completely unexplained and unsourced references to some goof named Hollenbeck. Either cite or remove. 68.225.171.64 (talk) 18:53, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
