Orphaned references in Aaron Stevens (wrestler)
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Aaron Stevens (wrestler)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Aaron Stevens (wrestler) → Damien Sandow – He has been with the WWE now for quite a while under his new name and has already been pushed heavily. These are just 3 articles talking about him getting pushed and fighting main eventers such as Sheamus:

[edit]i'm know by facts that damien sandow is born 1981 and not 1982 okey because i'm was meeting him at the wwe summerslam 2013 axxess and asked him which years his was born and how old he is and him said i'm born 1981 and is currently 32 years old . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.227.189.71 (talk) 04:42, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- Unfortunately that's not how Wikipedia works. We need a reliable source (you aren't) and readers need to be able to verify claims for themselves, which they would not be able to do if the only source for the claim is an anonymous editor. If you can find a reliable source that can be verified by the rest of us then we can discuss how to deal with the contradicting claims. SQGibbon (talk) 14:05, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Should the "Money in the Bank" section header include "various losses" or "losing ways"?
[edit]@Mclovin'tosh: I invite you to discuss why shouldn't we include such phrases in the section header of 2013-2014? Please read the body of the section. He's lost nearly every notable match in that section except MITB. (we don't include him beating jobbers like Sin Cara or R-Truth) The reliable sources note that he first had a 1-12 record after winning MITB and then went on a losing streak after failing to successfully cash in. He lost championship matches for the IC and NXT titles. He lost feuds to Sheamus and Rhodes. He won zero feuds. How shouldn't we depict that he has indeed suffered various losses in this stage of his career? starship.paint ~ regal 13:04, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
It doesn't fit to be "encyclopedic" enough and sounds too "in-universe" style. Aside to keep the headers short, let's just highlight the relevant storylines that he had and keep it that way. Thanks! User talk:Mclovin'tosh 09:17, 26 November 2014 (EST)
- I usually argue to keep headers five words or less, but when two of them are "in the", I think we can give six words a pass. I would say that the unifying theme during this period was that Sandow was virtually always losing. Relevant to WWE? Not much. Relevant to Sandow? Very. I'm going to quote the sources in the article.
- Sandow has been losing a lot of matches since he won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Wins and losses don't really matter in WWE many people say, but secretly they do. ... the consistent losses because he held that briefcase ... 1
- if you are part of the vast majority of WWE fans who only watch Raw and Smackdown, then in the past few months, you have seen him win 1 mach and lose 12 (including a loss to Santino Marella). He also lost his only actual PPV match since then to Cody Rhodes. On Raw he could not beat a previously seriously injured Cena whom he did a huge amount of damage to before the match started. He lost. He is a loser. 2
- Sandow vs. Cara "someone has to win" special ... it's the battle of "wrestlers who can't get a win" ... 3
- We can't deny his many defeats; I invite you to rephrase it more "encyclopedia-like". starship.paint ~ regal 13:47, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- Well... The section includes more than his period as MR MITB. He lost various matches. Even PWTorch described it as losing streak and "battle between wrestlers who can't get a win". --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 14:56, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- Alright, you guys can do whatever you want to add on the headers. Before doing so, you can refer to this article for a second : Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Writing_about_fiction, and if you think "various losses" and "losing ways" is not considered an "in-universe" style of writing, then you can go ahead. Thanks and peace y'all! mcLovin'tosh 12:38, 26 November 2014 (EST)

- @Vjmlhds: - I strongly disagree with your header changes. I've never seen anyone use (Summer 2014) or (August 2014 - present) before - in terms of stating the month and Summer isn't consistent in all parts of the world. Furthermore, look at the word counts of the different sections - previously it was 349/450/505/260. Now it's 349/450/422/83/133/127. Mizdow is an impersonation as well, there's no need to separate that. starship.paint ~ regal 04:03, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Lead Section
[edit]- It would be great to remove the parameter references.
- Slammy Awards achievements should be included.
Early career (2001–2002)
[edit]- Sentences should be less compressed.
Early years (2002–2003)
[edit]- "He also worked an angle where he had his fingers "broken" by Raven on Heat." - citation needed.
Ohio Valley Wrestling (2003–2006)
[edit]- "He later was reassigned to WWE's developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), dubbed Aaron "The Idol" Stevens." - the sentence should be made more constructive.
- How Stevens won the match should be shortened.
SmackDown (2006–2007)
[edit]- The name of this sub-section should be altered with a better title.
- Last para needs to be illustrated.
Independent circuit
[edit]- Citation needed in this section.
Return to OVW (2008–2009)
[edit]- "Stevens returned to OVW on November 12, 2008 surprising and defeating OVW Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Bravado, in a non-title bout." - the word "surprising" should be made more meaningful.
- "On December 3, 2008 he teamed up with U-Gene to take part in OVW Southern Tag Team Championship number one contendership tournament, in round one they defeated Theta Lampda Psi. A week later, they lost to Anthony Bravado and The Buck. Stevens lost the title to Vaughn Lilas at the January 14, 2009 television taping. In February 2009, he lost to Mike Mondo in an OVW Television Championship match which also included Johnny Punch." - citation needed.
World Wrestling Council (2009–2010)
[edit]- Various title wins and loses need citation.
Money in the Bank; slump (2013–2014)
[edit]- "Rhodes dominated the feud between him and Sandow; throwing Sandow's briefcase into the Gulf of Mexico,[which forced Sandow to introduce a new custom-made briefcase; thwarting Sandow's attempt to cash-in on a vulnerable Alberto Del Rio; and defeating Sandow twice in singles matches, one of which was at SummerSlam." - the activities should be made more clear; it is unnecessary to mention he failed cash in on Del Rio since he did not made any attempts. (Evidence are shown in the article SummerSlam (2013).)
- "In January 2014, Sandow entered the 2014 Royal Rumble and was eliminated by CM Punk, becoming the first man eliminated from the match." - grammatical error.
Impersonations; 'Damien Mizdow' (2014–present)
[edit]- "He turned face for the first time in his WWE career, when he finally split away from The Miz at WrestleMania 31 in the Battle Royal, only to be eliminated last by the winner, Big Show." - how they split?
- A new section should be made after his feud with The Miz or the better title should be given to this sub-section. This is because the 'Damien Mizdow' gimmick stays only half way mark.
Other media
[edit]- "Haddad regularly appears in Xavier Woods' YouTube channel UpUpDownDown." - citation needed, I would suggest the YouTube channel itself.
In wrestling
[edit]- "Diving elbow drop – 2015; parodied from "Macho Man" Randy Savage" - citation needed.
- Reference to The Miz and Curtis Axel working as Sandow's manager is not given as parameters in this section.
- Why Cody Rhodes isn't mentioned in the list of wrestlers he managed and his managers. They were a long time tag partner.
- "The Stunt Double" nickname parameter reference needed.
- Many parameter references are needed in the "Championships and accomplishments" section.
Additional Comments
[edit]"Personal life" section is less informative. This article might just become a good piece if my desired minor changes are made. Therefore, I keep this on hold for 7 days.

Change his name Aaron to Aron. He says it is spelled Aron in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJJ6_eYSZys Liiquiid (talk) 11:16, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Liiquiid: It's 43 minutes long, do you have a time stamp? I tried to look this up myself, all the reliable sources out there say Aaron. StaticVapor message me! 15:30, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
No need to look anything up. The man himself is "a reliable source," to say the least. It's right at the beginning of the video. Timestamp 0:26.

It states that Damien Sandow was the first to lose his cash-in on his money in the bank world title opportunity in 2013, however this is wrong. John Cena was the first to lose his cash-in on the 1000th episode of raw in July 2012. Damien was the 2nd person. Krisblack92 (talk) 03:17, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
