Well, can Mataviehas be listed under "Female serial killers"?

How 'bout this -- we know that Juana Barraza is a Female serial killer (she's confessed to 4 murders), but we don't know yet whether she is Mataviehas. How about if we wait until that's established before we talk about merging them?

Found guilty on 31 March 2008 of 16 counts of murder and aggravated burglary. Mikedash (talk) 23:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article is lacking in sources. Perhaps a little more links to in depth stories surrounding her crime. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 07:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

I put an {{hang on}} template objecting to the speedy deletion request. I've added a BBC News article which confirms most of what is already contained in the article. I can add a few more sources if nessessary, and there's plenty on her, although she's already been convicted of the crime so technically its not really an attack page. 71.184.47.155 (talk) 22:13, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of years ago a merge with Mataviejitas was proposed (see Talk:Mataviejitas#Merge?) and it was premature at the time but following her conviction it doesn't really make sense to have two articles on the same person. (Emperor (talk) 23:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Merge Proposal

[edit]

I'm suggesting that the Mataviejitas article be merged into this article. It doesn't make sense having two articles about the same subject, nor should the article be listed under a nickname rather then the actual person's name. --dashiellx (talk) 11:15, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Criminal Minds

[edit]

The episode of Criminal Minds "Machismo" is based off of this case, isn't it? I'm not lazy, I just lack motivation. (talk) 08:13, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth

[edit]

The birth record is public, here. As the birth year is not easily visible in the text, I asked a Spanish speaking colleage to help. He wrote: At the beginning of the document you can read the date on which the registration was made: "10 diez del mes de Febrero de 1958 mil novecientos cincuenta y ocho" (tenth of the month of February one thousand nine hundred and fifty eight). Note that in the original text the day and year are written twice, the first time in numbers and the second time with letters. So there is no doubt about the year of the document (which probably is the data that was used erroneously in wikipedia as year of birth). Later in the document we read that she was born "el día 27 veintisiete de Diciembre del año pasado a las 8 ocho horas 30 treinta minutos" (on December twenty seven last year at half past eight) from which it is established 1957 as his year of birth. --Aloist (talk) 14:28, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please help correcting a link?

[edit]

The link to the painting references the wrong painting, one by Cezanne. The image of the correct painting was likely only added to Wikipedia after most of this article was written. It has the same title, minus 'the.' The file is here: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Boy_in_a_Red_Waistcoat_(Greuze).jpg I can't figure out how to fix it. Done. I unlinked the link to the article about the similarly-named painting and restored the original title. Paris1127 (talk) 04:19, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
