Justin Timberlake

[edit]

I think Justin Timberlake is missing there, isn't he? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.189.7.95 (talk) 19:31, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

inline citation

[edit]

Please use the newly adopted inlice citation as follows:

For URLs

<ref>[http://website.com/page.htm Description of the link (including person name)] Retrieved january 2006 (and any other text you may want to add)</ref>

If the ref is a book

<ref>Johnston, Jill - ''Jasper Johns: Privileged Information''. ISBN 0500017360</ref>

This will automatically generate an entry in the reference section. Be especially careful when adding external references, to close tag (or the page gets majorly messed up).

WTF? Other than the usual mantra that homophobes are all closet cases, this seems utterly unsupported (and moreover is explicitly denied by the living individual). Moreover, not only is the claim denied by Williams, it appears to be in current litigation. Is this really the sort of name we want on the list? Remember, of course that it's not about truth, it's about verifiability. It might well be, for all I know, the Williams secretly exclusively homosexual... but it sure doesn't look like WP:V. I think, based on the link provided and his own article, that there's a legitimate case to put him on the debated list, but you're right, the evidence for listing him as "confirmed" is lacking. Bearcat 08:47, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, we've all heard the rumours about Usher's sexuality before, but as far as I can tell from a Google search, he's never actually come out as being bisexual. I've removed his name from the list for now; if it's going to be readded, you must provide a source which confirms that Usher himself has come out. A source indicating that there are rumours is not good enough. Bearcat 18:29, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Entries without references

The following people were listed without references on the main page. I have moved them here until references are found. The section A-E shows what this page should be able to look like:

Thanks - I've changed his entry to "Welsh". I didn't change his status to "Bi" because the sources say he's gay. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 16:53, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GLBTQ as a reliable source

[edit]

Two issues with this website. Linda Rapp, who is listed in this article as the author, and who does not herself cite any sources is a Spanish teacher. We have no article ourselves on her here, so she is not notable as a writer of anything, let alone biography. The site itself has an "editor" but there's no indication that they actually vet anything that's published there. I don't think the writer, or the site, rises to the level of a reliable source for our project.Wjhonson (talk) 13:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The issue needs to be addressed in his article before he can be listed here; as of right now, his article makes no mention whatsoever, and strictly speaking this link alone would not be a sufficient source in the absence of better ones. Bearcat (talk) 17:31, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed singer Brendon Urie from the list, as now his Wiki entry has a credible source/interview in which he defines himself as straight: http://www.huffingtonpost.com.au/2013/11/08/brendon-urie-gay_n_4233235.html?ir=Australia ExRat (talk) 10:17, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thjarkur (talk) 17:57, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you consider the fact that he has a page on a wiki dedicated to lgbt people (and it clearly mentions a male lover of his) a reliable source?

Wikis aren't reliable sources; they are user-generated sources which can contain errors if they're not properly referenced to reliable sources, which means published books and/or media coverage that was subject to an editorial chain of command and fact-checking.
