[edit]A lot of facts but a very badly compiled and uneven page of facts with no texture. Why is his Bangla stuff excluded??? This is a travesty! I'll work on it for the rest of the week to get it wikified and improved IMO. --Antorjal 16:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC) arr you qualified enough. he is not bengali. he is tripuri. if not a scholar to know the difference between bengali and twipuri, do desist from making bengali reference or else i can also make assamese stuff included (bengali in in tripura is more of bangladeshi who moved to tripura in the year 1947)Pkjonai (talk) 22:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)pkjonai
What kind of page is this? Just facts thrown in!. Please Please Please some knowledgeable rewrite. 199.67.131.152 (talk) 20:38, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
First of all, just having a surname does make anyone belong to a particular state - Tripura in this case for RD. Did he ever live in Tripura? Did he ever speak that language? RD was an out and out Bengali just as Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was an out-and-out Assamese (inspite of having a Marwari surname). So dont bring unnecessary politics into all this. RD's father was a half-tripuri, half-manipuri born and brought up in undivided Bengal. He wrote, sang and breathed in Bengali before moving to Mumbai. His wife was Bengali. His son RD was born in Bengal and his contribution to Bengali cinema has been immeasurable. So Tripuri speaking individuals suffering from identity crisis should cite some really objective facts rather than banter about the stale and boring Bangladeshi invasion theory of Tripura etc and the fact that SD was related to the Tripuri royal family (with whom he had no ties later) - pseudeds — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pseudeds (talk • contribs) 23:45, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
What about the immense amount of plagiarism that pervaded his body of work. Why is that not discussed? Probably because it invalidates his 'greatness'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.165.18.196 (talk) 12:09, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Provide reliable sources for it, and then we can contemplate about its inclusion. Lynch7 09:49, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Note: {{WP India}} Project Banner with Tripura workgroup parameters was added to this article talk page because the article falls under Category:Tripura or its subcategories. Should you feel this addition is inappropriate , please undo my changes and update/remove the relavent categories to the article -- Amartyabag TALK2ME 11:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Copied songs by RD Burman
[edit]Pages of many musicians like Anu Malik, who are accused of copying songs from other musicians, have separate controversy section on their page with some examples of their plagiarism. I think RD Burman has copied more than enough songs to have a separate section just like these other musicians. Akshaypatill (talk) 22:16, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
