[edit]Created this page by splitting of the historical section of the North China Plain. Added some information on the extent of the plain from Chinese Wikipedia.
It was a mistake to merge the articles on North China Plain and the Central Plain of China.

Zhongyuan
[edit]It is wrong to think Zhongyuan is a geographic meaning, so it is better to move to Zhongyuan.--刻意(Kèyì) 14:29, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move to Zhongyuan. The dab page will be moved to Zhongyuan (disambiguation). Cúchullain t/c 18:32, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Central Plain (China) → Chinese Central Plain – or China's Central Plain, per WP:Natural. The term also shows up in books and is not a neologism: [1]. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 14:37, 25 June 2015 (UTC) --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 06:56, 17 June 2015 (UTC) Timmyshin (talk) 15:54, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

- Comment: how does it compare to other similar articles? Are there other Central Plains? What's the most used term? FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 02:49, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - Contrary to the proposer's claim, "Chinese Central Plain" and "China's Central Plain" do not sound natural at all. It's usually called simply "Central Plain" or "Zhongyuan". I think the article should be moved to Zhongyuan, which is used in numerous English sources. See ngram. -Zanhe (talk) 08:23, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose the proposal per User:Zanhe but am OK with Zhongyuan. (Here is a modified ngram to include the pre-pinyin Wade-Giles spelling of "Chung-yuan".) — AjaxSmack 03:32, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose original proposal, support move to Zhongyuan per Zanhe. Cobblet (talk) 10:29, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support a move to Zhongyuan per Zanhe and others, oppose both China's Central Plain or Chinese Central Plain.--Khanate General ☪ talk project mongol conquests 11:09, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Relisting comment. Relisting again because although it seemed like we had a consensus for Zhongyuan, it is currently a dab page. Is this article's subject the primary topic of "Zhongyuan"?
- Support move to Zhongyuan. I would agree that Zhongyuan is the primary topic, since most of the other article on the dab page would not be referred to as simply 'Zhongyuan'. Sovereign/Sentinel 12:16, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
