Coronavirus in rodents refers to all strains of Orthocoronavirinae that can infect rodents. Before 2014, only Murine coronavirus (M-CoV) that can infect rodents and meet the species definition of International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses(ICTV) was found, which including strains such as Mouse hepatitis virus (MHV) that can infect mice and Parker's rat coronavirus (PRC) that can infect rats. After 2014, the second and third species were found continuously. After that, a large number of embecoviruses were found in large-scale field investigation
