European Association of Mayanists moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, European Association of Mayanists, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:23, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I've moved this back to drafts, because there is no indication that the organisation is notable. Organisations of all types must demonstrate notability per WP:GNG, which requires significant coverage in multiple independent and reliable secondary sources. This draft cites no such source. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:26, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oops my bad! Will see if it meets the criteria and submit or delete accordingly :) Asdfjrjjj (talk) 08:29, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

Ways to improve Promoting Empowerment Through Awareness of Lesbian and Bisexual Women
[edit]Hello, Asdfjrjjj,
Thank you for creating Promoting Empowerment Through Awareness of Lesbian and Bisexual Women.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This organisation-related article need to pass WP:NORG. However, the first ref is its own website, whereas the third is an advocay group that might not be WP:RS. In contrast, the fourth ref is routine with two mentions here (trivial), and the fifth is another routine interview-like announcement, failing WP:CORPDEPTH as well. The second reference is better, being longer and debatably SIGCOV despite mainly covering the founder and primarily relying on quotes. My WP:BEFORE search found non-SIGCOV listings e.g., this, therefore, how is NORG met? Thanks.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|VickKiang}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

VickKiang (talk) 02:54, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- @VickKiang: Hmm, I'm still working on this article so will look for more distanced sources! Though note that the COC Lessons Learned source ['fourth ref'] is a 4-page article examining one of this organisation's programmes. That hardly seems trivial to me? [Ps. in case this article ends up not meeting NORG, we can always delete or merge into the LGBT rights or women's rights in Belize articles, I think.] Asdfjrjjj (talk) 03:10, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Pps. after a quick search, I couldn't find other independent sources for this org. However, would we have two independent sources for them, such that NORG is met (ie second and fourth refs)? Otherwise, I'd say nominate for deletion or merge (content wouldn't be deleted though, just transfered to an article eg for Simone Hill, or a list article)? Asdfjrjjj (talk) 03:42, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, my mistake. Reference 4 does discuss the page in four pages, apologies that I didn't open the full PDF. Though, notability still seems to be borderline not met, as reference 2 is only debatably WP:SIGCOV IMO, as it is mainly quotes from Simone Hill and covers about the founder's views instead of exclusively focusing on the organisation (e.g., discussing about family members, general issues in Belize...). IMO it might be a good idea to merge/redirect this to somewhere IMO. VickKiang (talk) 05:10, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- @VickKiang: Sounds about right! I think I'll merge it into a List of LGBT orgs in Belize article, as this seems to be missing from WP, in the coming days :) Asdfjrjjj (talk) 05:30, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

The article Our Circle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Our Circle – news, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about an organisation that appears to lack sufficient notability. Please see the plain-language summary of our notability guidelines.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi Asdfjrjjj. You added a awful lot of undefined short form refs to English settlement of Belize, including "Rushton 2020", "Molina Solís 1910", "Aliphat Fernández & Caso Barrera 2013", "Sainsbury 1889", "Sloane 1707", "Reichert 2017", "Luján Muñoz 2005" and the list goes on. Each of these requires a full cite in the Full Citations section. If you can't supply all of these can I suggest that the article is moved back to draft space until it's fixed? Also if you are going to be using short form refs often you should think about turning on the associated error messages, they are off by default the category Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors explains how to turn them on. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 16:19, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Oof thank you for letting me know, I had no idea! Will fix the errors today, and turn on the needed error messages :)

Maya Forest
[edit]I had to make a change to your interesting Maya Forest article; rounding the coordinates. Google has taken to providing 16-digit coordinates in what is believed to be a copyright trap scheme. That level of precision is in the 1/100th of a micrometer range. The simplest method is to round (or just truncate) to four digits, D.dddd°, works for most everything. Keep up the good work. Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Classic period in Belize. Deletion discussion about List of incidents of civil unrest in Belize
[edit]Hello Asdfjrjjj, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, List of incidents of civil unrest in Belize, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of incidents of civil unrest in Belize.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Bobby Cohn}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Editing patterns
[edit]Hi @Asdfjrjjj: I reviewed your article Mayflower grenade attack which is a great article apart from the references, which is a complete mess. Why are you using non-standard non-editing formats for the references? Do you not understand how much work your creating for other editors to fix this. Lets look at what your doing that takes so long to fix:
- The reference don't have the full properties to enable the reference to be discovered a couple of year up the road.
- Your adding a bullet list in the references which is non-standard. Why are doing that?
- Your using a tabular format for the reference which means the software can't use them. They are completely non-standard.
- It makes it difficult and burdemsome for other editors to update the article to change columnar references.
- I don't think its WP:MOS compliant.
scope_creepTalk 07:27, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- To editor Scope creep: ohhh geeez I'm really really sorry, never mean to create more work for others, promise to review these points, and especially MOS, and go over my recent articles to clean up refs in the next couple days/or after Christmas. Thank you for flagging this, I had no clue, really appreciate it and happy holidays :) - Asdfjrjjj (talk) 08:48, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Asdfjrjjj: Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I hope its not to much hassle. Happy Christmas. scope_creepTalk 08:55, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- To editor Scope creep: - hi!, in case you have time and would still be willing to help out, would you mind reviewing this (esp nos 1, 3, 4)?
- re references missing properties: My full citations for books/papers/etc seem complete to me, so I think maybe this refers to my excluding location, publisher, access-date, archive-date, archive-url for {{cite news}} and {{cite web}}, does that sound right? The parameters honestly seemed optional per {{cite xxx}} (and common use across WP imo), so maybe this is a wider concern re requiring rich full citations vs allowing for easy citing by editors, but maybe I missed some WP consensus?
- re bulleted references: for sure do and will not use :)
- re tabular format for references: I think maybe this refers to my adding whitespace (vertical format) to the {{cite xxx}} code? I got the idea from the {{cite xxx}} pages themselves (cmd-F for "vertical format") so maybe this is a wider concern re formatting code for human- vs machine-readability, but maybe I missed some WP consensus?
- re changing columnar references: I'm really not sure what this is in reference to - Googling
site:en.wikipedia.org "columnar references"did not help :( - re MOS compliance: after reviewing WP:MOS, MOS:FOOTERS, MOS:CITE, WP:REFDD, H:FOOT, WP:LDRHOW, my standard code for notes and references (in my sandbox) seems to mostly comply (except as listed below), but lmk if I missed smth pls?
- per MOS:NOTES (in MOS:FOOTERS): list explanatory footnotes before other footnotes;
- no other noncompliance found.
- Would be super grateful if you've got time :), and will fix all recent articles (incl Mayflower grenade attack) soon-ish, and sorry for delay! - Asdfjrjjj (talk) 22:27, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Asdfjrjjj: How goes it. Yes, Its all compliant but a bit odd. If it was submitted at WP:GA, they would reject it a New York second. For example the "5a" or "7f" doesn't convey information to the reader, they are artificial and machine generated. It works but I don't think its standard, but does tie together a quote and ref. On the 2nd point, the refs are in column format. Folks spend many extra clicks trying to get the column looking good again, like a game, losting many many click and wasting time, over a horizontal format like everybody else uses that is simple to update. scope_creepTalk 00:15, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- To editor Scope creep: - hi!, in case you have time and would still be willing to help out, would you mind reviewing this (esp nos 1, 3, 4)?

Redirects from species to genus
[edit]Please refrain from creating redirects from a species to its genus, as you did with Heliocarpus appendiculatus. The consensus is to leave redlinks, as they encourage article creation. If possible, please tag the redirect with the {{Db-g7}} speedy deletion template so that an article might get created someday. Thanks, Abductive (reasoning) 21:49, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

As of the time of writing, our top contestants are:
Vanderwaalforces (submissions) ahead of the pack with 715 points, with two FAs and many GAs on the monarchs of the Kingdom of Benin;- Simongraham (submissions) with 291 points, mostly with GAs on jumping spiders, alongside various GAN and FAC reviews;

You can also look through the eligible reviews page to find other articles to review, with highlights for articles eligible for the 1.5× multiplier. The coordinators would like to thank Jaguarnik (submissions) for his work to keep this page up to date.

Sep 2026 cleanup
[edit]I combed through the code and copy of this article to clean it up, so as to make it more readable, or to make style better conform to WP:MOS or other Wikipedia conventions. Sources were not reviewed, so no new content was added, nor was content removed (mostly). Edits include some/all of: correct factual errors (especially in top matter down to lead paragraph); expand lead paragraph; bring relevant content in comments or footnotes into/up to main article body text; remove superfluous subheadings; remove superfluous whitespace; add visuals; correct erroneous template or markup use; correct non-standard table style.
Plus:- In Founding of Belize, added Aftermath section content (info from memory [not sources] so still needs refs).
