Don't Delete FC Seoul transfers list

[edit]

Individual clubs transfer list is also notable. Not notable is just Cloudz679's opinion. I don' understant why do you delet detailed article? Transfer list By nation or Transfer list By club are both informative. As yo u Know I invest much time to write this article. But you want to delete by just your private opinion. private opionion was just 3-4 lines to write 1-2 minites. I really have spectisism on wikipedia. I crated andm improve this article 3 years. But this article can delete by just 2 person's private opinion to write 2 minites. In this manner Who contribute articles on wikepdia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Footwiks (talkcontribs) 03:17, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This infomation already exists at 2013 FC Seoul season and similar articles and is not being discussed for deletion. You should know, because you put it there. No information will be deleted, only the excessive stats listing, which is against the policies. C679 08:34, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will delete transfer list on 2013 FC Seoul season. Is it ok? I have a questiton. If club transfer list are exist, What happen to you? Do you lost your job? Are you wekipedia employee? Please take it easy. This transfer list exist for 3years over.Footwiks (talk)
Per convention, information at club season articles should be kept and lists of club-specific transfers should not. What difference does it make to you if the transfer page is deleted, since the information is not going to be lost? C679 11:19, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you delete, systematic transfer list information regading FC Seoul will lost, Many people don't find easily tansfer list on season page. Footwiks (talk) 03:35, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It works for every other club on Wikipedia, don't worry! C679 06:01, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So you want the article history of Rakhapura United (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) to be moved to Rakhine United FC (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), and Rakhapura United and Rakhine United F.C. WikiProject Football assessment

[edit]

Hi, I'm fully aware of importance, but I view a player who has made only a handful of int'l appearances, for a smaller nation, as 'low' importance. GiantSnowman 11:35, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's ridiculously subjective. How does one objectively define a "team with nationwide notability"? A "world-class player"? GiantSnowman 11:53, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think it works, and is useful - but needs more flexibility. GiantSnowman 12:02, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have a questions

[edit]

I have a question. Why do you stalk FC Seoul articles or Non English country's Football stuff? Because of you, Many South korean football articles which I created are deleted.

If this football club pages are exist on wikipedia, Do you lost your job or wikipedia go broke beacuse of excessive server traffic? Anything is not happen. If you deleted articles, Do you recieve money from wikipedia?

I give a good information. There are many not notable articles about American football. As you know, America football only popular in America. But why English wiki user admit them and only attack Non English country's articls? If you serch this category, you can find many not notable american football team. Also contents are very few. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Defunct_American_football_teams Please should be fair to all country's articles.

If you set a deletion tag on article, Non English country's User can't win deletion debate. Because Mother tongue is not English and few user.

Please take it easy. Remain them and many people will improve this articel. If not, then delete

Becasue of you, I can't created article on English wikipedia, I investe much time to create them. Put yourself in my case, You created and edited article that you invested private time, You don't receive any money, just delevery information to user. If you, Do you have a feeling to contribute on wikepedia? Footwiks (talk) 09:59, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:EFFORT. The fact of the effort put into an article does not excuse the article from the requirements of policy and guidelines. It's a good idea to find a notable topic and then write about it. I don't know anything about the American football articles, I do not edit them. Maybe that message was intended for another user. C679 15:19, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't spoil FC Seoul articles

[edit]

Don't spoil FC articles. Updating of FC Seoul official website is not speedy. New player prophiles are now preparing. You can't read korean newspaper or know circumstances, Please belive korean people, Korean people is not idiot. We'll editing accutely soon, New players are definately joined. Just Official website updating issue. Because of you, Editing is more confused. Please keep it. I'll keep on eye FC Seoul article. Don't worry and I think you are busy person. You have to patrol all wikipedia articles to find not notable article and delete them. Mind your business. Footwiks (talk)

As I told you before, I suggest you create it at the Korean wikipedia first, where you can develop it, then later on translate it into English. Pages can be deleted for many reasons, none of which have anything to do with being Korean. C679 14:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RSSSF Feedback

[edit]

Hi Cloudz

We all seem to drift back after a break. League321 was first conceived a few months ago as a Wikipedia essay that quickly outgrew itself. Hopefully it will now develop into a prime resource for Wikipedia Football and the RSSSF "stats family" but the unknown factor is whether this type of Web 1.00 site is of any interest to the wider football community. Time will tell. It is a huge project.

The more I look at the different sources for league tables and the small variations that arise, the more I doubt general accuracy. We tend to treat RSSSF as "the bible" but the bottom line is that they are equally dependent on the diligence in evidence gathering of their individual RSSSF editors. RSSSF does list the email addresses of their editors and a good starting point would be to contact the appropriate editor where errors may have arisen. If he is no longer active then obviously contact the main RSSSF editor.

Enjoy your football. Kind regards. League Octopus (League Octopus 09:35, 1 February 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Theodor Gebre Selassie

[edit]

I see you removed references from Theodor Gebre Selassie with this edit, citing wp:noneng. There is nothing at noneng about deleting foreign-language sources, and as a Czech man it is quite rationale that some of the references at his page be in the Czech language. Also the fact supported by this citation is quite notable, so I have restored it. Thanks, C679 10:22, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. WP:NONENG stipulates that "because this is the English Wikipedia, English-language sources are preferred over non-English ones." In the event that they are included, "translations published by reliable sources are preferred over translations by Wikipedians." The edit was neither. I've therefore replaced it with an English language source. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 15:26, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The policy doesn't provide for deleting such foreign-language sources though. Expected the replacement though, which I agree is the right way to go ahead on this occasion. I hope you won't delete Czech-language sources from the page in the future on the basis that they're not English, as there is a significant amount about him which has been reported that is not available in English-language sources. C679 18:05, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Only if it's a WP:REDFLAG issue. Otherwise, Czech-language sources are alright I guess, though English-language sources are still preferred overall per non-eng. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:16, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good to know, as his is one of the Czech football biographies I have identified for improvement. His main "red flag" seems to have now been supported by English-language sources, I will add a couple more for good measure and continue with the development later in the year. Thank you for your input. C679 18:29, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what the apparently Czech-only information on him is, but the policies above should cover them. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:38, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: u20 African stubs

[edit]

I've already PROD'ed most of the articles in that category. The deletion of these articles isn't particularly controversial. The only reason anyone would object to their deletion is if I missed some procedural point, like with Abderrahmane Saighi and Abderrahmane Bourdim, or if they don't know the notability guidelines, which means that individually each of these articles are obvious PROD's. If you ask me, whether it's just one or 130 articles, shouldn't really change anything. You're welcome to take them to afd if you think its necessary. Personally, I don't think it is. Cheers. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:10, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cloudz. The article was completely messed up. Eye above Prague (Oko nad Prahou) is a documentary film about the Kaplický's project. Both the project and the film are notable, there has been huge public discussion in the Czech Republic about it [1]. The project is covered on cs:wiki under the title Národní knihovna na Letné. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 11:11, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to the article that was there, it was about a proposed new library. If there is a notable film and project about it, I'm sure it will be easy to create a stub with some good sourcing. Thanks, C679 13:02, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The article claimed that Eye above Prague is the project of a new Czech national library building (designed by Kaplický). No, it is a documentary film made about the project and controversies surrounding it. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 08:14, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well something like G4 isn't applicable as it wasn't deleted at AfD nor is it similar, so if you have enough information, feel free to re-create. C679 09:52, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It would be definitely better to start from scratch - it was a total mess. I just thought I should let you know as you wrote: "Proposed project which was not realised. Lack of WP:SIGCOV" in your deletion nom. The project is notable and important, even if not realised. It was one of the main topics of discussion in the Czech media and society several years ago. Take care :) --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 10:19, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like starting from scratch is best, I look forward to seeing it on English Wiki one day :) C679 10:22, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. There are many, sadly, and probably many more than have notes against them. Can't remember any that were discussed at WT:FOOTY, but then I can't remember my mobile phone number most of the time, so it doesn't prove much. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:32, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TemplateData is here

[edit]

Hey Cloudz679

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Hi - I see you have taken an interest in Czech DYKs. I have recently written/googled about 8 articles about places in Prague. Brilliant. A little copy editting is a great improvement as its tricky to see your own silly mistakes. I have added a bit more to the Strasnice article in the hope that we can jointly move it to DYK. Hi again. I have expanded the Strašnice article further, it is now above the 1500 character requirement for DYK, so if you think there is a good hook to use, please go ahead and nominate it at DYK. If you want to discuss other things not directly related to the article(s), please use the contact by email link. Thanks, C679 20:06, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the inclide c679, I have signed up for the Wikiproject. Ive only got a few to go to complete Praguepedia into English. Do you know if the project is live? Victuallers (talk) 11:42, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have never heard of Praguepedia… where can I find out about that? C679 11:43, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh!! Look here and maybe copy the picture to the article and project page if you think it should be there. All of the places I have been editting (I'm told) have QRpedia/Proaguepedia codes. Victuallers (talk) 11:49, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah just Prague 10, yes I think I heard about that before, online somewhere. How did you get into it? C679 15:03, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ive just given QRpedia to Wikimedia UK so I'm interested in all of its "childrem" Victuallers (talk) 15:24, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see, that's fantastic. I googled "Praguepedia" and got some irrelevant hits, also took a look on cs.wiki and didn't find any particular page for the project, do you know where to find it? It would boost participation if there was some kind of hub. Thanks, C679 15:57, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did find this though, with around 50 articles! Your next project? C679 16:06, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help, Cloudz. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 07:11, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome Vejvančický. Would you be interested in sending the article to DYK? C679 10:07, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is a big story and I'm afraid it is too incomplete. I'll try to add more. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 10:33, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, let's see where we are after five days. C679 10:34, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
