Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Draft:Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Science and Engineering Research Board, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Manipal University and Ashutosh Sharma. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

Speedy deletion nomination of डिजीकवच

Hello Dcotos,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Skynxnex, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, डिजीकवच, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at DigiKavach. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Skynxnex}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi @Skynxnex Due to a technical glitch during article translation, it occurred, but I am grateful for your prompt action. cheers Dcotos (talk) 00:56, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Notice

The article Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not an important article for an English wiki

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. UnTixic (talk) 11:37, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

@UnTixic I have noted that you prodded several articles before, don't proposed an article for deletion, Just because you think, it is highly disruptive and clearly incorrect, please read the WP:PROD nomination section carefully before proposing. Dcotos (talk) 18:47, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Jewish flag requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~ Tails Wx 13:23, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi , @Tails Wx I moved that page to draftspace for incubation. Reason(s): no sources so I transferred it as draftify using the MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft tool, and it did some malfunctioning. I believe you should notify the page creator. I attempted to contact the article's creator later, but it appears that user has already been blocked. Dcotos (talk) 15:18, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Dcotos. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. signed, Rosguill talk 01:07, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

@ This member who nominated this article started accusing me of doing articles for pay. But the participant did not even realize that this is a translation of articles from the German section, including this company FxPro. I translated all the articles from there, once only from the Japanese section.

What should I do in this situation? This article on FxPro was last removed in 2017. Since then, many years have passed and several more interwikis have appeared, including the German wikipedia, the Russian wikipedia and others (I translated it from the German section). Favorite girl68 (talk) 11:05, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

@Favorite girl68 FXpro was deleted multiple times in 2009 by Ruslik0 as per G11: Blatant advertising, and again in 2018, 2019. and again in 2024 even after that you published it with different name, looks like case of WP:CONFLICT, if you are connected, you should disclose your COI when involved with affected article. even if you are not you should put new article through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process instead of creating them directly. Hi, I would just like to say that I do not think the redirect should be deleted. It is not inappropriate, it is a quote that is familiar to the events. It is no different than redirecting 2083 - A European Declaration of Independence to Anders Behring Breivik because that was the name of his manifesto. @Local Variable No worries at all!, i also found their repetitive page creation with different page names as a case of WP:CONFLICT, advertising, and the user was trying to justify these as being translations from other articles, may be because i reviewed one of article Hilde Dalik created by them, they raised a complaint to me to play innocent game in hope, but you did good job, if there's anything, I'm here to help!. New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Dcotos,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Submission declined on 30 April 2024 by Dcotos - Lena Snow

Hello, I would like you to help me.

Can you please explain the difference in notability / quality of my article draft

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Lena_Snow

to this accpeted article

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_W%C3%B6lk

Your criticism told me that I miss secondary sources outside the field.

I analyzed the sources of the other article:

1. Source inside the art field - art gallery

2. Source inside the art field - Art blog

3. Source offline

4. Source inside the art field - Art blog

5. Source inside the art field - Art magazine

6. Source inside the art field - artist's own website  - self-reference

7. Source offline

8. Source inside the art field - art gallery

9. Source inside the art field - Art blog

10. Source offline

11. Source offline

12. Source inside the art field - Art blog

So, as you can see, there are no sources outside the art business as well - according to your criteria this article should be denied either.

Please tell me, what you need to match your expectations, so I can bring this article into wikipedia - as the artist I write about is real, internationally published and exhibited since 2020.

This can be proven by 56 sources which are independent of each other. This is a lot for an artist, who is considered as not notable by you, I have to underline.

I cited 56 real online sources - many more than the article about Anne Wölk. I got even more if you need it to proof the authenticity.

Any help or tips are welcome.

Thank you in advance. JEbert68 (talk) 10:05, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

@JEbert68 Most of the sources were not reliable as per WP:BIO to meet Basic criteria, People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. Blog, social media sites, PR news are not reliable sources. Happy editing! Dcotos (talk) 15:42, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Re: Syntrichia caninervis

Are you going to submit Syntrichia caninervis for WP:DYK? Time is running out. Viriditas (talk) 21:50, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

I will nominate soon if I don't hear from you. The current version of the article has some issues to be worked out. Viriditas (talk) 22:20, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
I can't nominate due to Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Please read that essay. Viriditas (talk) 22:29, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
@Viriditas Hi, sorry I was out of town. You are right it's a special case because this is happing very first time. You did great work on on the article, Thank you, and you are free to nominate the Syntrichia caninervis for WP: DYK?. I will be happy to help. Cheers! Dcotos (talk) 10:49, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
No worries, I'm sure whatever it is you were doing was more important; hopefully you were helping people. Anyway, we are too late for DYK now. I contacted you primarily because of the deadline. But it can still be brought to DYK provided 5x expansion occurs within a specific timeframe or it is put through the GAN process. Either way, all hope is not yet lost, as there are still opportunities. One thing you can do to help is keep an eye on the source material and see if you can find any other sources on the subject we can use and add them to the talk page. Viriditas (talk) 21:44, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
It's a positive sign that we still have a few chances. I have to go out of town often due to medical issues, but I will still try to find other sources on the subject. Dcotos (talk) 22:10, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

Question about tagging

Hi,

Thank you for reviewing the Mahesh Bhagwat article and for being part of NPP. I noticed you added the Autobiography tag to the article.

I often edit pages related to Indian law enforcement, including politicians and biographies. Just to clarify, I'm not Mahesh Bhagwat or related to him. I understand something triggered the tag, and I'm just trying to learn what it was so I can follow proper guidelines in the future. If there's a specific section that's problematic, I can fix it or request the necessary changes. Any guidance or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, --AbhiSuryawanshi (talk) 19:48, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

@AbhiSuryawanshi Hi , the article structure is like a resume. It must be written from a neutral point of view. Rewrite all other sections in the same way you did here. Dcotos (talk) 15:28, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
