Editing issues

[edit]

Hi Elcid.ruderic -- I've recently had to clean up several of your edits to 2011 St. Louis Cardinals season article, while another veteran editor had to do the same to the main St. Louis Cardinals article. Please take some time to study the Wikipedia manual of style and articles on other baseball teams. A couple things in particular: the information you included about the AL teams also mounting comebacks (Tampa Bay, Boston, etc) was not relevant to the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals article so I've removed that info. It more properly belonged in the articles for those teams. Please also make sure to include some sort of edit summary briefly describing what changes you've made to the articles and possibly why. Also, just a helpful hint for both you and in courtesy to others: instead of making a large number of small edits, saving your work each time, try doing multiple edits and then saving. It makes it much less cluttered on the articles history page and helps other editors/administrators better understand whats going on rather than the tedious task of checking each individual edit one by one. Much thanks! Sector001 (talk) 22:12, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

St. Louis Cardinals page/pages/portal

[edit]

I've been helping with effort on the St. Louis Cardinals page, its history pages, and others pertaining to it. I'm working to get the main SLC page and the history pages to receive promotion to featured article status, as well any other significant page pertaining. I am relatively new to editing/contributing on Wikipedia, and am open to input, so if anyone has any I would definitely like to hear it. ˜˜˜˜Elcid.ruderico, 18 April 2013

I love the what you did to the lead of the article! If you just cite your sources, you should be set to nominate that list as a featured list candidate! ;). Just make sure to include User:LAAFan as a nominator as well, because I like to know that credits are given to where credits are due, as LAAFan did an excellent job developing that article! :D I'm retired from Wikipedia now, so please reply on my page or at least give me a notice that you have replied! --K.Annoyomous (talk) 10:09, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FAC review

I just saw your Yadier Molina nomination. It is one of the few sports nominees in the queue. As a sports fan, I was hoping you would consider reviewing Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2012–13 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team/archive1, which after 4 weeks still seems to have a modest amount of feedback.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:40, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You've done good work on Wacha's article. I created it, but you're contributions to the article are greater than mine. I think the article is ready for WP:GAN. Would you like to take the lead on it? I have several other GANs in the queue. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:28, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"See alsos"

[edit]

I think you are adding too many articles to the see also sections and causing a little bit too much clutter. Stan Musial for example has too many. Some of these articles are already linked numerous times throughout the article and in the infobox and templates at the bottom. Things such as the St. Louis Cardinals all-time roster seems unnecessary. In fact I believe that there was a discussion in the past to not include these in articles though I can't seem to find it. What do you think?--Yankees10 02:03, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, as always, Yankees10 for pointing this out, and your helpfulness in streamlining Wikipedia articles. I was unaware of this being an issue, but for future reference, I will be more judicious before adding of links within the See also sections. Elcid.ruderico (talk) 13:58, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
