Thanks - but 'JJ' for a 19th century arch - it smelt funny - but thanks for the cleanup figured you'd be more au fait with that - just trying to sort out some odd snowy mountain scheme stuff at commons - cheers SatuSuro 05:13, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A pint of Real Ale for Elekhh

Hi Elekhh, I noticed that you are interested in architecture and have been done a few GARs before. Myself and a couple of other editors are hoping that the Victoria Rooms (Bristol) article will be promoted to GA status, before Jimmy Wales gives a presentation there in a weeks time. If you have the time, do you think you might be able to review it for us? It shouldn't take much time hopefully. Thank you very much SmartSE (talk) 12:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers for the review, I'm a great fam of just-in-time! Have a beer (or other beverage) on Bristol. SmartSE (talk) 22:26, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it was :), and thanks for the Ale - will enjoy it! Have fun at the event. --Elekhh (talk) 22:50, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the review and thank you for pushing for improvements. Jezhotwells (talk) 01:09, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is actually up for FAR, right? I was wondering why there have been no other comments and didn't see it at the FAR listing; did you not mean for it to start yet? /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 19:14, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your activity as a Good Article reviewer, and wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.

If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply!

You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).

I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:15, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I replied on my talk page. --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 16:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PEFO image

[edit]

Thanks for the heads-up. I appreciate it. Without it, I would have been unaware that anything was happening. After reading through the discussion, I opposed promotion, which is something I rarely do, and gave my reasons. I have a continuing interest in Petrified Forest National Park as well as the image and would not like to see the cropped version replace the lead image there. Finetooth (talk) 05:19, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks once again. I have posted a conditional support, which is a more clear way of putting it. Finetooth (talk) 16:44, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All's well that ends well. This was my first time through this particular process, and I was not sure what would happen. Thank you again for nominating the image, for the heads-up, and for your support. Finetooth (talk) 02:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Johannes Rach

[edit]

Hi Elekhh, thanks for the tip on commons about how best to upload images from Flicker, much easier. While I am at it (troubling you, that is), I have a question you might be able to ask in your capacity of Indonesia buff. I have had an article on Johannes Rach stuck in a sandbox for ages after stumbling over this article but I found it surprisingly hard to find illustrations from his Indonesian period and therefore lost interest (well partly because it just ended up su terribly clumpsy language-wise and seemed to get nowhere). So I wondered if you might know where to look for more/better images. Also great if you have anything else to add of course.Ramblersen (talk) 12:47, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you don't mind my answering here, Elekhh, but there are a number of Rach's illustrations on the Indonesian version of Johannes Rach. - Ipigott (talk) 15:29, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh not at all, just use my talk page as a forum whenever you want: is free as long is on cultual topics ;). Indeed some images are really close like this was on commons just misspelled. Than there is a good clue in the text where the images are, so I found 20 more at the Rijksmuseum, and 164 lowres at the Perpustakaan. This appears to be the book you need. Otherwise this looks like a very interesting article, definitely should be DYK when you move it to article space. --Elekhh (talk) 19:25, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the answers both of you – 164 images for a short artic should just do.:-) Maybe some of his Russian work can also be identified.

I think I have decided just to upload it the way it is now not to get stuck with it again (as I always towith sandboxes) - once I have looked it through for the worst atrocities. Thanks again.Ramblersen (talk) 07:18, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Architecture help

[edit]

Hi, Elekhh, I noticed that you are a member of WikiProject Architecture that is fairly active. I'm working on Gateway Arch (which I plan to take to GAN), and am having some trouble with the architecture component of it, especially the "Construction" section. I found a New York Times article that I thought explained it quite clearly. Could you summarize the following sentences for me (as little jargon as possible) and integrate it into the article? Thanks.

...the arch was built of 12-foot prefabricated stainless steel sections, manufactured at Warren, Pa., by the Pittsburgh and Des Moines Steel Company. Each section, after being hoisted and welded into place, had its double-walled skin filled with concrete, which was then stressed by 252 tension bars in each leg. The slim steel rods, reaching into the foundation, were stretched taut by hydraulic jacks until the concrete had set. To put the final prefabricated section in place next week, hydraulic jacks will pry the two-foot opening at the top to eight feet. The hydraulic jacks, a steel scaffolding "scissors jack" and the cranes will then be removed. ("St. Louis's Arch Is Near Its 'Topping Out' Stage")

Goodvac (talk) 22:59, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for the additions. Goodvac (talk) 22:36, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've just put together another top-down article, this time on the Art of Luxembourg, and would appreciate any suggestions you may have for improvements. One of the major problems, as with most articles covering contemporary or recent figures, is the difficulty of including images of the works involved. Would it be a good idea to include a list of external links or do you think it is sufficient that there are links in the text to the WP biographies of the individuals involved? How strict is the 70-year rule on copyright? Is the year sufficient or do you think it is necessary to wait for the actual date of death (e.g. Sosthène Weis who died on 28 July 1941)? - Ipigott (talk) 16:04, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see this has to be manually updated. Do you think using a formatted version of Wikipedia:WikiProject Architecture/Article alerts would be better? That's auto-updated regularly by a bot and covers all sorts of things as well, like AfD. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:23, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :) I don't really care about XfD in the bulletin much (maybe as a collapsible section, though?), and yeah, I think the article alerts currently might be not the best fit. I'll see if I can find someone to write a bot to update it; it would make keeping track of things much easier :). /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 04:03, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kutter image for deletion

[edit]

I am a bit surprised to see that File:Kutter Luxembourg 1937.jpg is being considered for deletion. The comment is that there was not sufficient discussion of the painting in question. I have added something to the Joseph Kutter article and will also try to adapt the other articles (although there are links to Kutter from each of them). It's frustrating to see an immediate threat when you are trying to act according to the rules. - Ipigott (talk) 12:06, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for you convincing comments on this. Together with Hoary's support, I think the image has now been saved. You may be interested to know I also added File:Su-Mei Tse Balayers du désert.jpg using similar justifications. Fortunately, up to now no one has objected to this. Do you think it would be dangerous to extend the justification and add it to Art of Luxembourg too? - Ipigott (talk) 14:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you take a quick look at my sandbox when you have time and provide some feedback on how I've developed my article thus far? Also one of my references is a pdf file which can only be viewed after clicking on the website link. Is there any way I can make the pdf a direct link? I know you previously mention are not too familiar with the topic, however do you know of any other sources I can use dealing with previous legislation/bills? I appreciate any advice, comments and feedback on how I can improve my article! NasroF (talk) 17:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am new to Wikipedia (besides the quick search for a random piece of trivia). I would appreciate the opportunity to have you as my mentor, as I might have questions in the development of our page. I can be reached through my e-mail: caalbrig@indiana.edu or perhaps through my Wikipedia userpage? (Yes, this is how little I know if Wikipedia's offerings!)Let me know what you think!

Mentoring students: be sure to check in on them

[edit]

This message is going out to all of the Online Ambassadors who are, or will be, serving as mentors this term.

Hi there! This is just a friendly reminder to check in on what your mentees are doing. If they've started making edits, take a look and help them out or do some example fixes for them, if they need it. And if they are doing good, let them know it!

If you aren't mentoring anyone yet, it looks like you will be soon; at least one large class is asking us to assign mentors for them, and students in a number of others haven't yet gotten to asking ambassadors to be their mentors, but may soon. --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:06, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

William Burges

[edit]

You very kindly commented on this last year. I've done some further work on it, bearing your comments in mind. In particular I have sought to reference it more fully and have tried to tone down the personal comments, although, as a Burges fanatic, it's bloody hard. I'm now thinking I'd like to have it peer reviewed, as you suggested. I'd really appreciate any further thoughts you have on its weaknesses before I do so. I would love to improve its rating, partly, I must admit, through vanity, but really because if any architect deserves a GA rating, then Burges does. There's me being POV again.

Many thanks. KJP1 (talk) 22:42, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Again. I'm now begging for help. I've tried to put the Burges article through for peer review, as you suggested, but I'm so poor at Wiki-editing that I can't even make William Burges appear as a title on the Peer Review: Requests page. I've tried and re-tried but I just can't do it. Would you be really kind and help me out? Better still, would you review the article and improve it. I'd be really, very grateful. With sincere thanks. KJP1 (talk) 21:35, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

illustrations and renewable energy

[edit]

Hi Elekhh. I'm an online mentor too and happened to notice your introduction there. My ears perked up when I read of your dual interests in illustrations and renewable energy. If you might have time to make some good illustrations, I know of one particular renewable energy article that is in need of some good graphics to illustrate various forms in which this particular renewable energy technology is taking in early design prototype efforts. The article I'm thinking of is Floating wind turbine. And if not, no problem. Glad to see you are mentoring. Best, N2e (talk) 00:55, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi N2e, nice to meet somebody passionate about RE. If you are looking for technical drawings of RE systems I might not be the best editor to ask. So far I've did some layout design for P:RE, simple charts and maps as well as obtaining images with free licenses such as this. If these are not the kind of illustrations you had in mind, I am sorry to disappoint. In any case, let me know what exactly did you have in mind for that article. --01:10, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind response. I was thinking of some potential graphics that would help illustrate the distinctive differences between the (rapidly becoming ubiqitous in Europe) shallow-bottom, fixed-foundation (generally, a monopile foundation) offshore wind technology and the deep-water, floating wind technologies (which are much newer and much less well understood by the lay Wikipedia reader). As a secondary idea, graphics to illustrate differences between the basic design of various floating structures (spar buoy type like Hywind, or platforms and more complex water structures in the various proposed concepts would be useful. There might be more ideas, but those are mine for now. I am a graphical/illustration illiterate. On the map idea, I think a map will begin to be more interesting in a couple of years after there are more deployments of this technology; right now just one is operating, and it is off the coast of Norway. N2e (talk) 18:51, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think would help illustrate that article on this important emergent RE technology? N2e (talk) 18:51, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I guess something like this with a conventional fixed-foundation also in the same style in the row for comparison... I'm sorry for not being a specialist though in these kind of illustrations, (and very busy atm), but maybe somebody at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab could help right away. --Elekhh (talk) 01:44, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking a look at this. I think that the sort of comparitive graphic you suggested is exactly what would work really well for that article. Like you, I'm a bit too busy to pursue it right now, and illustrations aren't my thing anyway, but I do hope that floating wind turbines get some better illustrations over time, in the great emergent phenomenon that is Wikipedia. Cheers. N2e (talk) 00:16, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marking articles students are working on

[edit]

Howdy, Online Ambassador!

This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students (in particular, any ones you are mentoring, but others who don't have mentors as well) and do these things:

  1. Add {{WAP assignment | term = Spring 2011 }} to the articles' talk pages. (The other parameters of the {{WAP assignment}} template are helpful, so please add them as well, but the term = Spring 2011 one is most important.)
  2. If the article is related to United States public policy, make sure the article the WikiProject banner is on the talk page: {{WikiProject United States Public Policy}}
  3. Add Category:Article Feedback Pilot (a hidden category) to the article itself. The second phase of the Article Feedback Tool project has started, and this time we're trying to include all of the articles students are working on. Please test out the Article Feedback Tool, as well. The new version just deployed, so any bug reports or feedback will be appreciated by the tech team working on it.

And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile.

Thanks! --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 18:11, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mentee - Transnational NGOs

[edit]

Hello!

I am a student at Syracuse University in the Transnational NGOs course. I was hoping that you could be my online ambassador. I am interested in the following areas: Environmental Issues (particularly sustainability and urban agriculture, however, I am hoping you could broaden my horizons with articles that need to be edited or created. I was hoping to expand the Citizens Campaign for the Environment page), LGBT Issues, Latin American studies, and education reform. I would really like to work with you seeing that many of the interests you expressed are shared by myself.

Hi Elekhh,

I have a question...for the CCE page, the only resources I can find are the organization´s website. I would like to expand the Wiki page by including the campaigns they work for. What do you suggest I do to gather third-party information on this? Not much is written up about CCE that isn't through their own org. Re Independent opinion

[edit]

Hi Elekhh,

That's a bit of a worry that I was the last good faith editor of Tim Flannery. Actually, having a look at the page history since, I think it is well due for protection. Flannery has just embarked on a nationwide tour to explain climate change and carbon pricing (as part of the thing I added), so I reckon chances are pretty good this article is going to be attracting a lot of trolling.

Re the piece you mention, I haven't followed the link, but I find it believable that Flannery may have said it. However I believe it's being taken out of context in its current usage – i.e., he would have been highlighting the need for urgent action, which is not really how it reads in the article (it's been put as though he's saying we're wasting our time acting, which is the type of thing Bolt and Price, both well known and influential local climate change deniers (esp. Bolt), would have been pushing for - just read your talkpage comments, and it sounds like you are already aware of this). It also reads rather as a news report, adding nothing substantial to the article, i.e., in contravention of WP:NOTNEWS.

Given that Special:Contributions/Wadeoski sole contributions are to Tim Flannery, it looks to be a single use account to beat a drum. I see Special:Contributions/58.168.75.93 has now also got involved, quite clearly the same user. I think the points you make on the talkpage are valid. I will add a comment there as well. In the meantime I might revert the latest reversion and direct them to the talkpage, but I'd say Wadeoski/58.168.75.93 has already contravened 3Rs, so is liable for a block. Cheers, --jjron (talk) 02:46, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article is subject to continued vandalism (anon IP has again reverted twice in the last half hour). I have put in a request for page protection. Those IPs may need blocks as well. --jjron (talk) 03:34, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, gets a bit more intriguing. Seems this comment/interview with Flannery may be being used as a dog whistle for the right-wing and denier brigades. There was a letter to the The Age quoting it as a reason not to act on climate change (see here, a bit over halfway down under 'Act of blind faith'), and a right-wing politician brought it up on ABC's Q&A on Monday night. Essentially they're using it as I said it been written in the article, trying to make it sound like Flannery's saying there's no point in doing anything. This could explain the perseverance with trying to get it into the article. Who knows the origin of the user/IPs trying to do so. --jjron (talk) 13:22, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you were from Europe (not sure where), thus my assumptions for what you may or may not be familiar with re the 'debate'. Are you (currently) in Australia? --jjron (talk) 06:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did you see the Flannery statement got a run on Media Watch tonight? --jjron (talk) 13:42, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, those feedback/comment sections on websites seem to be honeypots for nutters; the comments there were relatively reserved compared to what you usually see. Kinda proves the point of why newspapers letters sections are filtered through the editor first; when you see some of what does get published, especially in papers like the Herald-Sun and Daily Telegraph, you've gotta wonder what sort of stuff they get that they don't publish! --jjron (talk) 10:57, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elekhh, I've been doing some work on Corbusier's Villa Savoye. I was a little surprised to see a photo on the page because I thought that France had no Freedom of Panorama? Is this something that is only an issue for Wikimedia Commons or does it apply to Wikipedia too? Kenchikuben (talk) 17:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Elekhh, thanks for the clarification (albeit very ambiguous and complicated!), thanks for changing the rating - I'm hoping to add in some more information over the next couple of weeks. I also did some work on Japanese architecture about a month ago (the Meiji and Taisho periods) and will try to improve the other sections bit-by-bit! Hi Elekhh, please note this. Sigh. I think we're dealing with the same editor as the one we both engaged on the talkpage... The Rambling Man (talk) 17:25, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed that you started a merger proposal on Penang National Park, but you did not place your reasons on the talk page, per Help:Merging, so one cannot comment on them. Best regards, and happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 14:47, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, thought to be fairly obvious, but I added the explanation now. Thanks for the reminder and your interest. --Elekhh (talk) 13:31, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a short article about Hotel Astoria in Copenhagen and thought it might be relevant for a DYK but maybe it is too short. I thought about something like "Did you know that the design of Hotel Astoria in Copenhagen was intended to ressemble a locomotive and has inspired Peter Clash's Sleeperz Hotel in Cardiff, Wales. And another thing, I knowthere is a technical term for that kind of architecture which is designed to ressemble its content (cf. also the Darwin Centre phase II at the Natural History Museum which is inspired by a cocoon, the natural historic ornaments on the Museum's old building, or the new national library in Paris which looks like books) but I can't seem to remember the name. I am even quite sure it has got a wikipedia article, so do you, Mr. Architectureman who seems to be everywhere just remotely related to architecture, happen to know what I am thinking of? (and no it is not novelty architecture as Ipigott has kindly suggested)Ramblersen (talk) 04:04, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind the last question, I finally remembered it. I was thinking of Architecture parlante.Ramblersen (talk) 04:21, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am glad that my sustained attempts to improve a tiny bit Wikipedia's coverage of architecture is felt :); The article is long enough for DYK and am happy to nominate for you. However I am not fully happy yet with the hook, as it teases the reader regarding the resemblance to that other hotel in Wales but than there is no article on the Sleeperz Hotel or its architect nor an image to demonstrate the connection. So I would prefer either a shorter hook "...that the design of Hotel Astoria in Copenhagen was intended to resemble a locomotive?" or one with more about its design "..that the design of Hotel Astoria in Copenhagen is an early example of functionalism and was intended to resemble a locomotive?" if you can add an inline citation to the functionalism part. Let me know which way you prefer. --Elekhh (talk) 06:34, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was in doubt myself wheather it would work with the Cardiff reference with neither an article on the architect or the building. I'll be happy with either one of your proposals. I have very little experience with DYK, I hardly ever read them myself and the few that have come from my previous articles have been nominated by others without my knowing. I'll add a source to the "early Functionalism" bit right away. Thanks for taking the trouble.(:Ramblersen (talk) 06:54, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I got it that you are not a fan of DYK and sincerely neither am I reading random facts on any page (and never read DYK and even supported replacing them on the main page with a selected GA article), but apparently many people do, and that little effort of nominating will bring few thousand extra people to your article(s). I saw Ipigott found some other interesting sources as well... --Elekhh (talk) 07:05, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Difficulty with review

[edit]

Hello Elekhh. Once again I am having difficulties with WP procedures, this time with a GA review (my first). It's on the article Olive Trees (series). I thought I had completed the necessary procedures but there must be some way of activating the review to upgrade the article's status to GA. However, I cannot see how this is done. You can find what I've done up to now at Talk:Olive Trees (series)/GA1. I would very much appreciate your guidance in order to complete the procedure. - Ipigott (talk) 09:24, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese architecture et al

[edit]

Hi Elekhh. I've been working on Japanese architecture recently. I replaced the Modern Architecture section with a section on the Late Showa Period which made it easier to contain the period from the war until 1990 (and it followed the pattern already set up). I could add an Early Heisei Period but I'm worried about getting into the realms of original research as the only source material I have is lots of magazines ( as you know architectural trends tend to take many years to become definitive styles). I wondered if you had an opinion on the direction that the article should take? Also, I've been adding citations to the other sections, do you have any further suggestions for improving it to a "B" rating?

Also I've added to the Villa Savoye and wondered if a "B" rating was appropriate?

Thanks. Kenchikuben (talk) 12:59, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work on both articles! Checked Villa Savoye and lifted to B-class. It would be good to have the plans as well in the article, but while I would argue that it should be possible to upload them under the same fair use rationale as the lead image, I am not sure if the "copyright police" will agree. The sections of Japanese architecture you worked on look pretty good, but the earlier periods appear incomplete (manifest in the lengthy see also section) and some sections are still unreferenced. The image galleries preceding the text I find confusing, generally these are placed after the text. The lack of consistency in the number of images in each gallery makes the layout appear a bit messy, and I find distracting. Also a proper lead section is needed to summarize the whole article. Have a look at Architecture of Denmark which is a not so long ago promoted GA. --Elekhh (talk) 12:59, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Elekhh. Thanks, I took a look at Architecture of Denmark. I have rewritten the earlier sections to include references, I've aded an Early Heisei Period, expanded the lead and re-organised the galleries. I'd be grateful if you could read it through. If you think it merits a B rating I will submit it for a peer review at WikiProject Architecture. Thanks. Kenchikuben (talk) 09:53, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
While I have limited background knowledge of the early history, it looks reasonably comprehensive to me, so lifted to B. Some very minor things: there are still references which can be consolidated using the "ref name" function. Probably the endless repetition in the image captions of "built in" could be avoided, by simply indicating year of project and completion in the more succinct "(xxxx-xx)" format. My feel is that there are too many pictures, and if the galleries could be slightly trimmed would help. Certainly you did a great job, and if you intend to make it a GA it would be fantastic! I noticed User:Urashimataro (aka Frank) has been doing a lot of good work on articles relating to Japanese architecture, so you might wish to invite him to the peer review. Cheers, --Elekhh (talk) 13:05, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking Architecture Ambassador

[edit]

Hi Elekhh! Yes, I mean an online ambassador who could specifically help coordinate with WikiProject Architecture. Actually, I am also looking for one or two people to be general "managing" online ambassadors for WikiProject MoMA, and if you're interested I think you would be a great candidate for that too :)--Pharos (talk) 16:06, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you are officially our Architecture Ambassador. Welcome to the team! (of which you are now the second member :P)--Pharos (talk) 16:52, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, you needn't let distance be a barrier to a more general role, and don't let the "managing" terminology turn you off; you should just know something about art and handling the art wikiprojects online, and as the "Wikipedian-in-residence" I'll take care of all the in-person stuff from New York City.--Pharos (talk) 19:46, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, maybe your portfolio would fit better under your name in the 'WikiProject Ambassadors' section of Wikipedia:GLAM/MoMA/Members...--Pharos (talk) 22:49, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the FA Challenge is drawn from the most-viewed list on their website, and they want to keep it pretty much as is.--Pharos (talk) 22:13, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any thoughts on WikiProject MoMA categories for the architecture collection? Please see Wikipedia talk:GLAM/MoMA#Categories.--Pharos (talk) 02:12, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Providing an image

[edit]

I would like to provide an updated cover image of The Age located here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Age. However I am not sure how to do this. I am a representative of the organisation and wish to also grant copywright permission for the image. Are you able to advise? Kind regards, NDCole (talk) 02:17, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About Scope

[edit]

Thank you for your attention. I have read the WP:Travel and I will follow it as I can. It doesn't matter for me, if you correct something wrong, I'm appreciate it. To make correction and delete a part of them is better than to revert all of them, because we can learn which part is wrong as you do in Nusa Dua: Geger Beach. I submit and attach the photo because there are no photo of it, the photo quality might be not good, but I think it is better than no picture at all (minus malum). About Jakarta Road Transport, I write it because several years ago there are no traffic section in Google Maps of Jakarta and about the technique to grab the data I hope more people interactive with Google Maps for Mobile, so the data will more accurate in real time basis. About Morotai, The Beauty of Morotai, it is certainly not yet due, but 90 percent guarantee it will happen as the next Sea Games (certainly not due), although there are Nazarrudin case. I write it with hope someone will update later when is due. Thank you again for your attention.Gsarwa (talk) 11:55, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
