Did you remove?

Hi, you started a request Phoenician_dependencies_of_Tyre_and_other_locations_map which I started to work on. Then I lost contact with you and now the request is removed...
Don't you think it would have been appropriate to let me know what you are doing and if this will continue or not?
I'm putting in hours and dedication in this so please inform me, thanks. --always ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 12:52, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Elias Ziade,

I thought I'd let you know that this draft is headed towards a CSD G13 speedy deletion in a few hours tomorow. Since it has already been deleted before, you are unlikely to receive a notice about this so I'm leaving you this message since it appears that you are an active editor. Most drafts that are considered "abandoned" have article creators who have moved on from Wikipedia. So, here's the notice! Good luck with your work on the project. Liz Read! Talk! 02:15, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Thanks @Liz I tagged it for deletion. I will not go through with it. el.ziade (talkallam) 12:07, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I noticed while doing NPP that you created this redirect to Ushu, which isn't mentioned anywhere in the target. I haven't been able to find good sources connecting Paleotyrus to Ushu, beyond a couple incredibly sketchy looking biblical sites. Could you point me at a source that calls Ushu Paleotyrus, and/or include it in the article? Thanks! Rusalkii (talk) 00:43, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

@Asilvering I did what the nominator asked. Why was the submission declined? el.ziade (talkallam) 09:00, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
@Asilvering correct me if I'm wrong but the drafting was because of lacking references, not notability... el.ziade (talkallam) 09:02, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
I read the draftification note "more sources needed" as "more sources needed to show notability", so I don't think the draftification and the decline are for different reasons. asilvering (talk) 15:53, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

Undisclosed paid editing

Hello Elias Ziade. I noticed that in Special:Diff/1166783025 you obscured the paid editing disclosure on your user page by making the text white, matching the page background. This is a breach of your unblock conditions imposed by Salvio giuliano, and appears to be an attempt to game the system. Please ensure that the paid editing disclosure is displayed appropriately and in compliance with the paid contribution disclosure policy and your unblock conditions.

For the avoidance of doubt, have you been paid or do you expect to be paid for any edits you have made since 23 July 2023? AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 20:41, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Elias, I agree with ACN. As things stand now, you are violating my unblock conditions. Unless you restore (and update, if necessary) the required notice, I will reimpose the block. —  Salvio giuliano 20:55, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 23:56, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
@AntiCompositeNumber@Salvio giuliano By the way, since the sheriff is in town, and since I woke up feeling extra petty today; are rules applied selectively? I mentioned a company that approached me, and I declined to write their article, yet their article is live (after being once deleted when initially created by a paid editor_whom I also reported_), and yet no one was even notified or warned ;) el.ziade (talkallam) 08:43, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
If they are not investigated and if they don't display the shame badge too I will have to remove mine. el.ziade (talkallam) 08:44, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
In order for them to be investigated, they first need to be reported... That said, the fact that someone else may have flown under the radar is no justification for you to violate the rules. So, please do not remove the COI disclosure or you will be blocked. —  Salvio giuliano 18:27, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

On 4 June 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Gingras (instrument), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Proposal for Collaboration

I am reaching out to propose a collaboration on new articles about the Levant. I believe it would be a valuable addition to the platform. If you're interested, you could initiate the article, and I would help to expand and develop it further. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Some articles such as Siege of Tyre (1111–1112) and Cathedral of Tyre would be a good start. Cheers. 2003:100:3700:8900:FDCC:57A2:EC9F:BF1E (talk) 09:52, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Can you make an account? el.ziade (talkallam) 13:28, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Sure, I can, but I don't want to. This platform is full of dictatorial admins who threaten users with bans whenever there's a disagreement. When I edited without an account for years, I never received any threats. I was trying to collaborate, but you responded with a silly question, acting like a smartass. I regret wasting my time writing to you in the first place. 2003:100:3700:8900:236A:B6F9:2E72:6249 (talk) 01:05, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

Kharayeb as the TOTW article

@Elias Ziade Hi! I wanted to let you know that the article Kharayeb is a current candidate to be chosen for the meta:Translation of the week project, meaning if it succeeds it could be translated into several other languages in the span of a week. If you want to see how the process is going and vote yourself, you can check it at meta:Translation of the week/Translation candidates#en:Kharayeb. Flora distributions

Hi, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Plants/World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions for advice on categorizing flora by distribution. In particular, we don't place an article in both a parent and a child category (this applies generally). So a plant that can be placed in Category:Flora of temperate Asia or Category:Flora of Western Asia isn't also placed in Category:Flora of Lebanon, for example. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:26, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

@Peter coxhead
Thanks, Peter, for clarifying. I did suspect this would be the case, and I encountered several instances where it seemed the rule wasn’t being enforced. So, I thought it might be acceptable in certain situations. Please note that the categorization I applied was to facilitate a project for a local initiative. I will be more mindful in the future. el.ziade (talkallam) 19:11, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

Baalbek

There are other sources though. Doug Weller talk 09:29, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

@Doug Weller There might be plenty but please check who is the user who initially added this claim, what is their motive, and why should we condemn an entire city based on sources quoting the IDF?
