Hi KTC,
I’m looking at updating a page about Arco, the company, which I think has previously been taken down. I’m trying to understand why so that the same mistakes / issues aren’t replicated.

Regina Ip rollback edits
Hi KTC: A few months ago you interceded in an edit war on Regina Ip, because User:Ipmod's edits violated Biographies of living persons policy. The user has made the same edit 9 hours ago. I could revert, but then we'd be back to the same impasse as before. What can I do? Thank you for your time. Blue Wizard (talk) 15:27, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews
Hello KTC. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.
The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.
If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)
If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.
Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.
I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).

Marty Marshall
Hi there. Would it be possible to re-visit this AFD? The article was deleted some months ago as non-notable, but the boxer does in fact pass WP:NOTE: He was ranked in the world top ten by Ring Magazine in 1954. (see here). Many thanks SteveO (talk) 15:29, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hey no problem. I have a few sources which confirm that Marshall was ranked in the world's top 10 by Ring Magazine, which meets the notability criteria for boxers.[2][3][4]. Plus a fair amount of third party coverage on the Google news archive, four fights against Hall of Famers/world champions Sonny Liston and Harold Johnson, fights against other boxers who held a top 10 rating (ie Bob Satterfield, Bob Baker, Willi Besmanoff), a few televised bouts,[5] an appearance on I've Got a Secret on account of his win over Liston,[6], coverage in magazines such as Sports Illustrated[7] does, IMO, also add up to passing general notability. I would have done all this at the time but it was only recently I discovered the article had gone to an AFD and been deleted. Thanks for your help. SteveO (talk) 22:52, 18 January 2015 (UTC).
- I've tidied up the article and added references. SteveO (talk) 12:05, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Reconsideration of the article Georgia Jones deletion
I am sending this to you because I am told the first step in a deletion review is to ask the person who issued the deletion to reconsider. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ncmikie (talk • contribs) 00:37, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
If I may I would like to run something by you. I have been reading that we need to cite at least one mainstream reference which is about Georgia Jones and is based on her work alone. In 2010 she was selected by Maxim magazine (UK edition) as one of their top 12 porn stars. Should that not qualify her as notable?
http://business.avn.com/articles/video/Maxim-U-K-Names-Top-12-Porn-Stars-400571.html
In addition she has been featured in two photography books published by Taschen. One of which she appeared as the cover model
http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/sex/all/05747/facts.ed_fox_vol_2.htm
Do these qualify as mainstream citations of Georgia's notability?
I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me, but I am trying to figure a way to get her article reinstated and to do it within the Wikipedia guidelines.
Thank you Ncmikie (talk) 20:28, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

I believe my Article was notable enough this time
Hello. I believe my Article was notable enough this time however it is deleted without giving me any satisfactory explanation. The procedure i have followed: Make draft, join chat and spend 1 whole day to edit and compose excellent article based on suggestion and edits by experts at the chat, submit draft, draft accepted, draft reviewed and edited by WikiProject_Video_games editor and completely published. Then i ask chat again about isn’t this too much edit? then primefac opens speedy delete then it is deleted without giving me any explanation in matter of minutes. If you check the issue i appreciate ty very much : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MonsterMMORPG . And there were not any discussion it was deleted immediately. One more notice: I checked same genre games articles and majority of them have way more less authority references and even some have 0 references. Thank you very much for your help. You were recently offered a statement in a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Sockpuppet investigation block. Given the legal, privacy and BLP implications of holding the case in public the Committee has decided to run the case completely in camera, to that effect there will be no public evidence submission or workshop. East London meetups
Hi,I am sitting in an almost empty Waitrose Café, Canary Wharf, on a Wednesday evening. I wandered around looking for a suitable place for a meet up: Unfortunately the Starbucks outside the library shuts at 7:00 pm. I think this place would be fine - almost empty, reasonable price with free coffee if you buy something (i.e. a cake?). After all the talk on WMUK list I thought it would be better to do something. What I would suggest is perhaps an East London meetup on the last Wednesday of the month, starting wed 24 June. What do you think? Leutha (talk) 19:31, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
