WikiProject Central America

Hi Kaiser! Just wanted to let you know that all of the country task forces under {{WikiProject Central America}} have been migrated to full-fledged WikiProjects of their own. So instead of using {{WikiProject Central America|Honduras=yes}}, for example, you should use {{WikiProject Honduras}}. Thanks! Kaldari (talk) 19:50, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Hockey

Hi , please create this article in asian hockey.

Leblanc

This was just archived (failed) at FAC. (You'd have to ask Ian why it was archived, but the FAC coords are under some pressure to either archive or pass FACs before too much time has elapsed, and I'm guessing he thought this one was going to be a while.) I was looking at it, and just wanted to report what I found. My best guess from reading this source is that it did support the text; it says "leading the league in scoring for two straight seasons" and "turned to hockey by age 15 ... he joined the Midget Triple-A Lac St. Louis Lions". Assuming the word "youngster" meant "before 15", I think you got that bit right (although maybe it was just bad writing by the journalist). As I mentioned in my comments, different Wikipedians have different concepts of how to use (or avoid) "as of". User:Moisejp may have more suggestions for you. One thing to keep in mind: some reviewers want all articles to read like nice, sensible history articles, where the sources tell you everything you need to know. Journalism isn't always like that ... if the sources don't provide the information a reviewer is asking for, just tell them that. I'll be happy to support on prose if you want to work on this and renominate it in two weeks. - Dank (push to talk) 01:48, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

One change, to the last sentence. I've been reviewing most of what's at FAC lately. I might keep doing that, but the only way it's going to be possible is if I only cover each article once. I'll let the FAC coords know, and hopefully it won't be more difficult the second time around. - Dank (push to talk) 13:34, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

olympic hockey edits

saw your changes and wondered how I missed some of those odd additions. Thanks.18abruce (talk) 15:28, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

On a totally different note, I was wondering if you know anything about the history of Eugene Grazia. His eliteprospects page claims he played for Italy in the 1953 'B' pool, which would seemingly have made him ineligible to play for the U.S. in the 1960 olympics. I have come across a couple of others who represented more than one nation prior to it being allowed, but none in such a high profile tournament.18abruce (talk) 15:57, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Harry Beadles

You just passed the GA review for Harry Beadles. However, I see two problems with the lead sentence:

George Harold "Harry" Beadles (28 September 1897 – 29 August 1958) was a Welsh professional footballer and Wales international.

First, footballer is redirecting to Association football and Wales international redirecting to Wales national football team are easter egg links. Second, isn't the sentence George Harold "Harry" Beadles was a Wales international" ungrammatical? I'm just not seeing the logic here. LK (talk) 01:19, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

BTW, if you like, you can join the discussion I'm starting here on the Wikiproject Football. LK (talk) 01:49, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

Invitation to Admin confidence survey

Hello,

Beginning in September 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Anti-harassment tool team will be conducting a survey to gauge how well tools, training, and information exists to assist English Wikipedia administrators in recognizing and mitigating things like sockpuppetry, vandalism, and harassment.

The survey should only take 5 minutes, and your individual response will not be made public. This survey will be integral for our team to determine how to better support administrators.

To take the survey sign up here and we will send you a link to the form.

We really appreciate your input!

Please let us know if you wish to opt-out of all massmessage mailings from the Anti-harassment tools team.

Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:40, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Pavel Bure

Hello:

I have been working on your GOCE request for a copy edit of the article Pavel Bure. In the "International Career Senior" section this sentence fragment appears at the beginning of the second paragraph: "In the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, Team Russia had played five preliminary games in order to set the" and makes no sense in the context of what follows. Can you have a look and see if you can "fix" this? I'll continue with the copy edit on 15/10. Thanks. 21:35, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Andrzej Osiecimski-Czapski

With this edit, you have added two categories to the Andrzej Osiecimski-Czapski that are not supported by what it says in the (rather brief) bio. Ok, it doesn't say anything in the text about the European Rowing Championships either but at least his inclusion is referenced in the target article. Could you please add some referenced prose that supports the two categories? Schwede66 18:33, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Dan Bain—

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Dan Bain has been completed.

Bain was elected to both the International Hockey Hall of Fame and the Hockey Hall of Fame - I stumbled across this by accident. I have corrected the text and added the Hockey Hall of Fame details and a citation. My only other comment pertains to Bain being elected Canada's top athlete in the last half of the 19th century. The HHOF bio also mentions this but does not say who elected him. It's an obvious question; if you could determine this it would be worth adding to the article.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best of luck with the FA nomination.

@Twofingered Typist: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I honestly forgot I had this requested, but thanks for going through it, apparently well enough to note this detail. Andrzej Szal moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Andrzej Szal, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Winnipeg Table Hockey League: Revision

Hello Kaiser matias, As a fan of all kinds of hockey myself, I recently felt I had done enough to remove the template at the top of the page by addressing the issues it wanted to be fixed by updating the "Winnipeg Table Hockey League" page on October 26, 2018 and November 16, 2018. For the reasons because the numerous links to the organization's own website and promotional language were removed. Additional information and citations were added to the page and the page falls under the WikiProject Board and table games section for guidelines and several different Wikipedia users have contributed and edited this page. On both occasions the editor John from Idegon in a matter of minutes reverted my changes citing "just different promo tone and gain consensus for your changes." I don't think he even fully read the changes and he reverts it back so fast. As a newer author on Wikipedia I find it frustrating. I noticed you have done quite a bit of editing in hockey articles and was wondering if you (as an experienced author on Wikipedia would be taken more seriously and be the consensus that he asks for) could revert the Winnipeg Table Hockey League page back to the November 16, 2018 date? As you will see it is a better and more improved version of the article therefore making it able to remove the template. Any help would be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikichamp3? (talkcontribs) 21:12, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
