History of Groveland[edit]

Hello Richard, hope you do not mind, I added an introductory paragraph to your History of Groveland. Actually I think a lot of that history should be put into the History section of Rowley. But I will leave that for you to decide. Best Regards, Dave B. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidBlackwell (talkcontribs) 22:50, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:GrovelandMAFlag.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:GrovelandMAFlag.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Au revoir[edit]

Hi Dick. I deleted my messages. You can always go into the history to get them. I'm getting off WP. I've been trying to figure out the best way to get off. It seems to me that is just to get off. I've left a UP if anyone wants to talk. I think however this is probably "it." People generally want to talk mainly about themeselves and their efforts. For reasons, well, we're not getting anywhere and all people want to do is bicker. I'm going to call this bickerpedia. The future is a book. I'm going on into it. April 2013[edit]

I saw that you edited or created Lyman School for Boys, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "LymanSchool", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Excuse the use of a template to a regular editor like yourself, and I have read your user page, and deliberated before messaging this. Widefox; talk 09:22, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial edit-a-thons[edit]

Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England
Skepchickal.jpg

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
