Name change of Oath Inc.

[edit]

Hi there. I know you meant well in renaming the article "Oath Inc.", but I wanted to let you know that I requested that the move of the article be reverted because the name change won't be official for a couple of weeks. In addition, when the name change does become official, the article should probably just be moved to "Verizon Media Group" (instead of "Verizon Media Group (Oath Inc.)" since parentheticals in article titles are usually used only for disambiguation purposes, which doesn't seem necessary here. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Aoi (青い) (talk) 03:49, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Kiddle, from its old location at User:Aaron Justin Giebel/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:06, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of Draft:Kiddle

[edit]

Draft:Kiddle, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Kiddle and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Kiddle during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Your submission at Articles for creation: Kiddle (search engine) has been accepted

[edit]
Kiddle (search engine), which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.
The article has been assessed as Start-Class, which is recorded on the article's talk page. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. If your account is more than four days old and you have made at least 10 edits you can create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for Creation if you prefer.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Kpedia section on Kiddle

[edit]

Hi, Aaron. First, welcome to Wikipedia, and congratulations on creating your first articles - Kiddle and KidzSearch! Since you are new to Wikipedia, I'd like to discuss this sentence in the Kpedia section of the Kiddle article: "It is currently competing with KidzSearch to dominate the market in kid friendly search. Wiki's are no exception." It was removed by one of the senior editors (X-Editor) on April 11, and you added it again. Now it was removed by me again for the following reasons: Besides being overpromotional (as X-editor mentioned), it makes little sense to put statements like "currently competing with KidzSearch to dominate the market" because it's a never ending process. Since it's "currently" competing when will the competition officially "end", and who will decide if this ever ends? The traffic difference is substantial, and it makes little sense to mention all the small and big "competitors". Otherwise you might have as well mentioned a long list of sites including Britannica Kids (kids encyclopedia), Study.com (kids encyclopedia), KidRex (kids search), and others. Links to KidRex and KidzSearch are already included in the article "See also section", and there's no need to go on about them in the article itself. I've also removed the sentence about Kiddle from the KidzSearch article for the same reasons. Great job on the Kiddle and KidzSearch article otherwise. Cheers. Btw, when you reply to someone's post it's easier to just add a message starting with a colon (add more colons to make more "nested replies"). (You can click edit and see how I posted replies to your post here.) No need to start a new section for replies. Cheers AlexBern73 (talk) 00:54, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Spam note on Mojeek

[edit]

Hi Aaron, you just recently reverted my removal of the {{Spam note}} template from the top of the article Mojeek. The original reason I removed it is because the template, as stated at Template:Spam note is meant to be placed on a user's talk page, which is also evident from the text that it creates which is written as a directly addressing someone, something that Wikipedia should not do as stated in WP:NOTADVICE. Is the a line of reasoning that I am missing for which the template should be kept on the page? Regards.—T.E.A. (TalkEdits) 18:08, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kiddle intro section

[edit]

Information icon Hi again, SafeSearch is a set of technology algorithms, it has nothing to do with “look and feel.” Kiddle indeed uses bigger icons and fonts but they have nothing to do with SafeSearch, rather the user interface. If you want to talk about the look and feel, please don't make it seem like they are some refinements of SafeSearch, as this makes the article flawed. The Format section is a better place to discuss the look and feel.

Please read more here: SafeSearch

Thanks. AlexBern73 (talk) 00:39, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

They do modify safe search by restricting more websites. I agree, it is better to place look and feel in the format section, but the article is not "flawed" Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 02:31, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It’s just that readers could get a wrong idea what SafeSearch is. Anyway, it reads well now. AlexBern73 (talk) 10:12, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I left a message on your talk page. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 03:15, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Aaron, Wikipedia is about creating articles together, where new and old editors write informative and correct articles that are valuable to Wikipedia readers. You made a great article and 80 percent of what you wrote was unchanged, the other 20 percent was improved by other editors including me. Every editor has some edits corrected or improved by others - this how Wikipedia works. Look at all the edits by you and others and see how the article greatly improved since it was started. Thanks again and don’t take some corrections the wrong way - I was only trying to help and correct what would sooner or later be corrected by other editors anyhow. Cheers. Your draft article, Draft:Portal:Kitten

[edit]

Hello, Aaron Justin Giebel. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Portal:Kitten".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Passengerpigeon (talk) 12:32, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wait I am still working on it! Don't delete it!!!!! Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 07:14, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting edits

[edit]

Hello, Aaron, Please make sure to read editor notes attached to each edit before reverting edits. Just for your information, citing Google search as reference is not acceptable on Wikipedia. The BBC article, in this case, is not an acceptable source either since it's based on a dead link. But I will keep the article as it is since you keep reverting my edits. Not trying to blame you or anything, just giving some tips as a new editor. Cheers. AlexBern73 (talk) 09:54, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was still an article. It is a good source. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 05:11, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for reverting. I just restored it to how you wanted it to be. Sorry :) Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 21:23, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem ) --AlexBern73 (talk) 05:50, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please continue contributing to kiddle- you are a great help and I won't undo an edit of yours again. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 06:58, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I will try. Often though, there's nothing to update except for rankings, but if there's anything worthy, I will try to include. I monitor and update many search engine articles. --AlexBern73 (talk) 12:41, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020

[edit]

Hi. You have been editing disruptively[1] and insulting others[2] the entire time you've been here. You're still doing it [3] and and also still, after being here for one year and four months, claiming the newbie excuse (=asking for special treatment as a newbie).[4] It's not working any more. You seem determined to not learn anything from more experienced editors, even when they go out of their way to be as nice as possible (as they usually do); this is your very latest edit to your talkpage. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia or attack somebody, I'll block you. Bishonen | tålk 09:36, 8 April 2020 (UTC).[reply]

On your page it says you have been blocked from editing wikipedia 3 times. It seems very hypocritical to block me. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 19:13, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i am sorry. I guess i have been kind of a jerk. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

With the editing disruptively, that one was an accident. You see I accidently copied and pasted Somthing into the article that was not meant to be there. I did not mean to pit that there. I have also helped and expanded that article too and have been a good contributer to the kid rex article. Aaron Justin Giebel (talk) 19:29, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Please indent replies in conversations in the way described in WP:INDENT. That way, it's easier for other people to see who's talking. Bishonen | tålk 21:30, 9 April 2020 (UTC).[reply]
