telangana map[edit]

thanks for bringing it to my notice. you cant rename files, you'll need to download and upload it again -- PlaneMad|YakYak 19:00, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:NOTNEWS - country articles do not report the latest details about current events. --NeilN talk to me 12:01, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the 2009 and later section, please spell out the actual names. Readers have no clue what/who you're writing about. Remember, this is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. --NeilN talk to me 20:34, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for improving the article by clarifying the abbreviations. --NeilN talk to me 21:56, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand but please keep strongly in mind that we are not a newspaper. Up to the minute details of events don't belong here but rather in WikiNews. --NeilN talk to me 20:06, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've undone your latest external link addition as the source has a very non-neutral POV. I think one link to http://www.telangana.org should be sufficient. --NeilN talk to me 07:10, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm logging off now. You should be aware of the discussion at User_talk:Santoshvancha --NeilN talk to me 07:23, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed you added a link to a blog. Please review WP:ELNO, specifically point 11: "Links to blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority. (This exception is meant to be very limited; as a minimum standard, recognized authorities always meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for biographies.)" --NeilN talk to me 20:11, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thats fine. Thanks for notifying me. Ramcrk (talk) 05:53, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you tell me what page of [1] supports "Lack of political power affected policy decisions of government; and contributed to the injustice"? --NeilN talk to me 01:29, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page 25 of [2] talks about "What did the Chief Ministers who belonged to this region do while they were in power?". I summarized it so that reader of the article gets an idea about grievances. Thats the reason I used the word "contributed" in the sentence. I am having trouble summarizing grievances. So many statistics so many complaints. I just want to give few important stats. I am debating myself, which stats to include? which stats will give correct picture to reader of the article? Without summarizing grievances whole section of the article is incomplete. FYI, the author of the article, Jayashankar attended all party meeting on Jan 5th called by Home minister P. Chidambaram. [3]. So I sourced most of my info from his article. Ramcrk (talk) 05:53, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The links you added were already present in the article either in the main text or as a reference. Please don't add duplicates. --NeilN talk to me 20:15, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SamaikhyaAndhra[edit]

Ramcrk - Let's please discuss this objectively. My points:

1. "There is no political support for this movement in Telangana. Only people in AP who support united Andhra Pradesh are people from Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions and migrants from these regions to Telangana" - Please tell me how this is NOT a POV. 2. "We have not seen even single organized event by Samaikhya Andhra JAC within Telangana." - Agree to this point, but wiki language doesn't permit use of "We" & "I". Please also add reference for this if you can and change language. 3. "Political leaders who support Samaikhya Andhra are finding it difficult to attend any public events in Telangana." - Again, agree with you that such leaders WILL find it difficult to attend any public event in Telangana. But none of them have tried. 4. Jagan Mohan Reddy's Odarpu Yatra is not related to SamaikhyaAndhra movement - Please tell me how is it relevant to mention it here. Similarly CBN's tours in this region is not related to this article. 5. "Only Seema-Andhra politicians attended the meetings organized by this organization." - I disagree because Mr. Teegala Krishna Reddy, an ex-mayor of Hyderabad has attended this meet. 6. I agree that there should be a change in this - This movement has also received support from CERTAIN NRIs settled abroad with AndhraPradeshNRI.org 7. Similarly, we can write SOME Telangana NRIs are not supporting this movement.

Please let's discuss these changes. In good faith, I will not make any edits to this article before we conclude this discussion. Vamsisv (talk) 08:54, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vamsisv, Thanks for discussion. A) Your point 2 will explain your point1. I changed the language of as you suggested in point 2. I cleaned up some and added links per your suggestion. B) Both of your points 3 and 4 are related. Jagan supported SA movement(in Parliament). CBN changed the stand on Telangana after Dec 9, 2009. Hence they both have trouble attending public events in Telangana. Still I cleaned up some. C) Regarding 5, 6, 7; I can say only following. AP people are divided on regional lines. Most of the Telangana community is asking for Telangana. Most of Seema-Andhra community is asking for United AP. There may be few exceptions. You can see the support on the streets, in assembly, in public events etc. But this article, originally, was trying to potray Samaikhya Andhra movement is popular through out the state of AP which is not true. I was trying to correct it and present the truth to the reader. I made some changes here too. Ramcrk (talk) 17:49, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Ramcrk - I'm happy that we are almost on the same page here. Please note that I've made some changes to wikify the whole text. Hope you would appreciate. One small thing in addition - I agree that CBN changed his stand. But his stand right now remains in between and he has not openly supported SamaikhyaAndhra (unlike Jagan) - So, I'd believe we should delete the reference of him facing trouble in T region.

Hope to have more fruitful discussions in future and keep up the Wikipedia spirit.

Thanks. Vamsisv (talk) 05:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I rephrased it. I compiled the all the data from all sources and was about to rephrase the content. There is so much content no one source have all the info. So I had to compile from various sources to present whole picture. Thanks. Ramcrk (talk) 00:07, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Telangana Movement[edit]

I'm only summarizing quotes. pls help in the same. Don't let your emotions trigger havoc on the article please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vamsisv (talkcontribs) 05:18, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your point on description for the statues. I will summarize the same. Please have a good sleep :) Vamsisv (talk) 05:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I welcome the summarization. But be fair. In the name of summarization, you are removing important info and trying to show movement as irrational and violent. Try to show point of view of both sides. Don't expand on violence while removing the important info which explains the movement or actions of Telangana proponents. Ramcrk (talk) 06:11, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. My submissions:
  1. I was only trying to summarize quotes. By just pasting quotes, the article will just become a log file of news article.
  2. I have NOT removed any important info. I was only summarizing quotes.
  3. You are making allegations on me - "...trying to show movement as irrational and violent.." "...Don't expand on violence" - I wish to clarify that I have not done or have intentions to do the above.
  4. Again, my only intention is to reduce the huge number of quotes in this article. Readers will find it very boring/exhaustive to read through. You would note that I have not removed any references, so readers can always read the full quote in those links.
  5. Request you to please erase your opinions about me and my intentions.
Vamsisv (talk) 06:20, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My opinion is based on my observations of your edits in last few weeks. My opinion will only change when I see your edits are more balanced. Here are my thoughts about summarization.
  1. For eg: don't remove the JP statement which provoked TRS people. If you remove JPs provocation, remove the attack on him too. Attack on him is not important to movement in any way. Only purpose of including attack is to show TRS MLAs are violent.
>> If you would note, I have only condensed his statement and not "removed"! That it was his statement which provoked TRS MLAs is your POV. I dont think even they felt it that way, given their clarification after the incident which we have included in the article. Yes, purpose is show the uncalled, undemocratic violent acts of MLAs. Vamsisv (talk) 08:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Also, regarding Sushma Swaraj's statement, in couple of sentenses, she summarized the whole non-cooperation movement. We should include that statement.
>> Agreed, she "tried" to summarize the statement. If you feel strongly about it, we can let it be. Vamsisv (talk) 08:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Attack on statues is done by few dozen people out of 50,000 people. If anybody reads this article they will get impression that whole Telangana went to Tank bund to destroy the statues. If you see the video, you notice that lot of people doing batukamma etc, while TV scrolls saying statues were vandalized. If you belive in democracy, you should be more upset about brutal way state tried to suppress Telangana voice by stopping the people coming to march. Given this you use statements which compares Telangana proponents with Taliban who destoyed Buddha statues. I too can include statements which calls Telangana opponents much more offensive names. I don't think you will be happy with it. Every movement there will be some violence. Given the emotions and intensity of movement, I think Telangana movement is peaceful movement. Let the article reflect that reality.Ramcrk (talk) 08:04, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
>> After the attacks on the statues, people do have their opinions about the movement. I or you are nobody to change/effect that. Lets not debate about democracy, but I don't think you can tell me for which I should be more upset about. Neverthless I'm not letting my "upsets" or emotions direct my contributions to this article. And please, look at how you twist statements to suit yourself - Noone comapred T proponents to Talibans. The act of destroying was compared to Talibanic ways! And I DID NOT DO IT. IT IS NOT MY POV. It was compared by others which I have quoted. For that matter till date, I have not included any statements made by united AP proponents or their allegations - because I feel they are political statements and carry no gravity. Finally, I will leave it to your conscience if you want to justify violence. I feel you will only end up diluting the movement. Vamsisv (talk) 08:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am not justifying the violence. I am asking you to be balanced. Show point of view of both sides. For eg: If a person makes racist remarks. Other person hits him. You have to include the both the events. If you show only one side. It does not make sense. By telling both sides of story does not mean justifying violence. It explains it. Edit Warning[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Andhra, you will be blocked from editing.

Above Warnings[edit]

I looked at the edits that triggered the above warnings and can't see anything that deserves a warning, let alone final warnings. Seems like a straightforward content dispute so please make sure you use the talk pages to discuss. --NeilN talk to me 01:40, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at the citations User talk:Ramcrk provides to prove his point of view. he is indeed making disruptive edits. If you observe his edit patterns, you will see that he is trying to show Andhra culture in bad perspective — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nagarjuna198 (talkcontribs) 02:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I repeat what I said on your talk page: If you have issues with the sources then discuss that on the article's talk page. Giving final warnings is completely inappropriate. --NeilN talk to me 02:05, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cite web[edit]

Hello Ramcrk, Thank you very much for your time-to-time contributions at the Telangana movement article. However, i spot a tiny little problem that you can easily help solve. It is the usage of the Wikipedia's reference template - Cite web. Its an easy-to-learn and easy-to-use template which i bet you will be learning in under a minute or two. The importance is such that references with bare URLs and normal external links do no look so good. That is why the Cite Web has been invented. It is used to mention the details of where the reference is being taken from. I hope you learn the template and use it, especially in your contributions at the article, Telangana movement. Thank you. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 06:44, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Anirudh. I will use the Cite web in future. Do you have any tricks or shotcuts which makes easy to create Cite web. Like 4-tilda's(~ ~ ~ ~), which generates the signature with date? Ramcrk (talk) 18:45, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there is one easy way to do that. In the edit toolbar you will find a small Cite button. Choose the Cite Web template and fill in the important blanks. Once you're done filling Title, URL, Accessdate and Publisher, click on insert.--Anirudh Emani (talk) 06:44, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November 2011[edit]

Your recent editing history at Telangana movement shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block. If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. Eeekster (talk) 17:38, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its user:Vamsisv who is deleting the sourced info or including irrelevant info. I gave explaination when I reverted his changes. I was about to start a disucussion and you put this warning. I started discussion at Talk:Telangana_movement#Fear_of_Maosism. Ramcrk (talk) 17:52, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It takes two to edit war. I suggest you work it out on the talk page. Eeekster (talk) 18:15, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Telangana movement. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Magog the Ogre (talk) 08:25, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

February 2012[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hyderabad, India. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.  Abhishek  Talk 02:48, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Hyderabad, India shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. It's time you stop edit warring, else I will report you.  Abhishek  Talk 13:33, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was discussing with this editor for several weeks, giving all the kinds of data. Except this one editor, no other editor have serious objection to the content I am trying to include. I am out of options. I even enlisted support from other editor to help resolve this issue. (See talk talk page for the efforts I put in). Ramcrk (talk) 23:54, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, while there is an on-going discussion, there is no reason to reinclude a disputed content. And secondly, whether you were discussing or no does not give you the liberty to edit war over the same issue.  Abhishek  Talk 13:34, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, it is nice to see you at Hyderabad again,

Actually during peer review it was discussed to reduce the article, as it had already become very large, please see here this edit in which I moved lot of information from same section to the article Nizam of Hyderabad. If we add info about bankruptcy then we will have to specify how they overcome with that bankruptcy, how they became the richest princely state and how the rulers of that state became world richest man, this all will again make the article unbalance. Thats the reason we had added templates Main article and See also. Hope you understand and will cooperate to make the article FA. Regards :)--Omer123hussain (talk) 21:29, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've worked on several states' List of CMs articles, and they are just that—a list of the chief ministers, their party and the length of their tenure. Personal info like where they originally come from etc, is excessive and irrelevant for this list. It is best left for their individual articles.

Also, the information is subjective (if he is born in one place, but grew up in another and his ancestors are from a third place--what do we list his native place as?), and mostly not cited to sources.

As for the Telangana agitation, I don't see how that is relevant here; Wikipedia does not function according to the Sri Krishna Committee guidelines. Again, this article should be a simple, objective list of chief ministers, as per the precedent set by nearly every other such articles. There is no need to complicate it with uncited, subjective and personal information.—indopug (talk) 18:07, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on GOM's terms of reference on Telangana state formation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://news.outlookindia.com/items.aspx?artid=813753. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Tinypics[edit]

Hello, you should not put screenshots as sources because we need to see the actual source. If they become deadlinks, you should instead look for a copy on an archive like archive.org and if that's not possible then look for another source. Please look at WP:USERGENERATED for the reasoning. Green Giant (talk) 00:46, 9 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WP:USERGENERATED does not talk about screen shots. Dont you think screen shots of reliable sources is better than no sources at all? Ramcrk (talk) 02:20, 9 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Telangana -- Proposal to form a Telangana state[edit]

I have reverted your latest edits in the page Telangana. The content you added was not written in an encyclopedic tone and was copied from a news report. Each and every details of the assembly proceedings should not be mentioned. but we can include content like - response of famous leaders and also mla's from seemandhra and telangana - can be added. Looking forward for your future edits and appreciate your efforts to contribute to the article. -- Rameshnta909 (talk) 09:21, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thankz for noticing my views regarding your edits in the section. Can you insert the comments made by K chandrasekhar rao, Kk reddy, naidu etc and reduce the importance of what happened inside the house. I will help you with my contributions. Expecting your co - operation. thankz. Rameshnta909 (talk) 16:18, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I dont want to put too many details in Telangana article. Its already too big. I included what happened in assembly because it got extensive coverage in media and everybody wants to know what it means. See Telangana Movement article for more details. Even there we can not include every statement as even that article is getting too big. But it will have more details than Telangana article. Ramcrk (talk) 16:27, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
ok I agree with you regarding the size but we should not include tiny details of the house proceedings in an encyclopaedia. I deleted some of the content from your edit. I think now its more neutral and good. Plz review my edit and respond to me if you are not busy.Rameshnta909 (talk) 16:44, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry my friend but I think it's written from a point of view of a man who support telangana and is furious about what happened in the house. plz make it more neutral. Rameshnta909 (talk) 16:48, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Did I write anything without any source? Any of the info I presented is not relevant? We all have biases. But we need to be as neutral as possible. You only want to say that bill is rejected. But dont want to say how it was rejected and what it means. Please look at your bias. I am trying to present complete/relevant info with least amount of words. Ramcrk (talk) 16:52, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have any bias as I am not a subject of both region. But I get a vibe that you represent one of the sides in this issue. Yes you have added content from the source and sources may also be biased. I am not arguing for the sake of arguing i just want the article look nuetral in its tone. plz atleast consider changing this sentence - "Analysts say "rejection of Telangana bill" is not valid and is useful only for political grand standing." We can change this sentence to - "But rejection of Telangana bill doesn't have any legal effects and supporters of telangana views the vote as an attempt to gain political mileage." Rameshnta909 (talk) 17:01, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Analysts say "rejection of Telangana bill" is more neutral and I am just telling what analyst said. Your proposal tells the same thing, but it looks as if you we, the wiki editors, coming to the conclusions. That may be considered as original research[original research?]. Ramcrk (talk) 17:11, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes analysts said that in the source right? then there is nothing wrong in writing that rejection has no legal effect and we are editing in a neutral point of view, right? so we say telangana supporters view this vote an attempt to garner political mileage. k? You convinced now? Rameshnta909 (talk) 17:22, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I just reported what analyst said in his article(he analyzed why this resolution is invalid). I did not say whether what the analyst said is right or not. Its only courts to decide whether the the resolution is valid or not. Probably nobody goes to court because, even if the "reject resolution" is valid, it has no binding on central govt. To include the phrase "telangana supporters view this vote an attempt to garner political mileage", we probably need another link to support this. Ramcrk (talk) 17:56, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Telangana, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Example: is this link working, dead link2, dead link3, is it a proper reference, link redirect here Vin09 (talk) 05:45, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Vin09 : If you check this you will notice that you broke 2 links in the article(in "further reading" section), Removed the link to sports authority of AP(SAAP still have the info about sports facilities in Hyderabad). Since I could not revert individual changes, I had to revert all changes. I agree we can trim some of the content. I am fine with removing the dead links too. But you did broke some URLs by mistake. I was trying to restore those links. I was suspecting that you were breaking the links by using a tool to do mass change. I want to bring it your notice asap before you do more damage. I see you were using same tool in other pages too. Ramcrk (talk) 06:46, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've replaced that and didn't touch it again. But why did you add those celebrations stuff in the section. Reverting everything made me work again. If there are any broken links, then why did you write the edit summary as all links are working. You didn't touch those users who have removed education section completely.--Vin09 (talk) 06:49, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Like I mentioned, I could not revert the single change, so I had to revert to earlier version. Thats the only way to do it. Or make one change at a time mannually. I thought restoring whole thing is easier. Its easy to trim stuff than typing the stuff manually. I am fine with deleting celebration stuff to reduce the size of the article. When reverted, my intension was not to restore the celebration stuff. But to restore the broken links to good articles. I just happened to notice it. I have nothing against you. I think you are doing fine job in improving the article. I am really suprised when I saw you broke the links. I did not believe that you did that on purpose. BTW, I added tinypic for BRGF URL because the link was becoming deadlink for every once in a while. This is 3rd or 4th time BFGF changed their URL since 2009. One time somebody removed the whole sentence because the link became dead link. By having tinypic you will always have a reference. Ramcrk (talk) 07:00, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No need of such sites, I provided a proper official site reference. Do not add those links.--Vin09 (talk) 09:10, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thats fine. But if it becomes deadlink again, if we could not find new URL to support the content, if somebody removing the sentence for lack of references, I know where to find tinypic. Ramcrk (talk) 14:24, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
didn't get you.--Vin09 (talk) 14:26, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The Panchayatraj dept website frequently moves their content and links on their site become dead links. If this link becomes dead link again in future and if no other references available, we can alaways use tinypic url as reference. This info is very important. This tells us how backward Telangana is. Ramcrk (talk) 17:02, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

==Edit on AP== I think no need to mention, until 2024 or until new capital that is being built in surburbs of. As you can see the User:Apstate user is so anxious in replacing info hurriedly. You can see the AP talk page where I and User:Dn9ahx and User:Thomas.W had discussion, where we decided to maintain status quo i.e., Hyderabad.--Vin09 (talk) 18:07, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
