Regarding speedy deletion of page Vinayakbuva Utturkar (deleted 06 Jun 2008 at 11:06)

This page shouldn't be deleted as it provides information about a person who had excelled in his field of Indian Classical Vocal Music and received awards for the same. It is a part of the history of Indian classical vocal music related to a few other musicians and performers as well. I am still trying to figure out how I can upload a copy of the award and the newspaper clippings to provide confirmation of the historical events. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owassonian (talkcontribs) 18:04, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

Regarding proposed deletion of page Vinayakbuva Utturkar

I have added the copy of actual newspaper clipping from 1980. I checked the newspaper website and their online website database does not go beyond January 01, 2004. http://archive.deccanherald.com/

I am also trying to find if the award issuing organization has the list of awardee from 1979.

Regarding award certificate images of Pt. Vinayakbuva Utturkar

The award and certificates are in possession of my family for the past 30 odd years and being a direct descendant of the artist, it would only seem appropriate that those are displayed as images on his wikipedia info page. Since he lived in times when internet was not a preferred public medium of news and communications, there are not many sources to provide details of identity and achievements. Most of the archives are in paper form (hard copies), which is one of the main reasons it took us over 6 years to find out and post them online since we first set up the page in 2008. Lack of evidence was the primary reason the page was deleted in the first place. I am certain that there are no copyright or ownership concerns with posting these award certificate images on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owassonian (talkcontribs) 21:16, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi. The user on the Ian Brown article logged out and continued editing from an IP address to make unconstructive edits and further innapropriate edit summaries. How does a situation like this get sorted out?

92.8.22.68 (talk) 17:28, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

OK. Although I don't believe any of my comments are personal attacks as such. That editor is deliberately making nonsense edits and appears to stalk the page to push a false POV in the face of facts and references using multiple user accounts.

92.8.22.68 (talk) 17:40, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on the article. Looking at the edit history of the article, I suspect that editor will be back with another username soon to edit again - as I see accounts with one edit seem to always change the correct location to Manchester for some reason.

Not a sockpuppet

Thanks for your comments on ANI, at [1]. I'm not commenting there myself, because there is a request for arbitration in process, as well as a request for temporary injunctions. ArbCom has jurisdiction in this matter, not ANI. But regarding my "alternate account":

WP:VALIDALT and WP:SOCK#NOTIFY lay out the rules for alternate accounts, and I'm fully in compliance.

I notified ArbCom about my alternate accounts long ago, was CheckUser'd, and came out fine. I've also been "outed" and subject to attack pages by a group of cyber attackers, so I've been checked out through Oversight too. Not to mention that I've used this account for over 6 years to edit controversial articles.

So, bottom line: I'm not a sockpuppet

But this sockpuppet thing is just a red herring anyway. You'll notice that none of the people throwing charges at me have provided diffs or evidence showing any bannable/blockable policy violations. Fearofreprisal (talk) 21:05, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Darin W. Toohey page info

Hello Richard Yin,

I am working on the Darin Toohey page. Of the seven references, only one comes from his own website. The other six are not primary sources. How many more sources do I need to get that flag removed? Best wishes and take care. Snowfalcon cu (talk) 21:49, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

@Snowfalcon cu: I marked the page as coming from primary sources because as far as I can tell most of the sources are profiles written by organizations that Mr. Toohey belongs to. I figured that they would not match the criteria here, and that therefore they are primary sources. --Richard Yin (talk) 23:39, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Help me about the new article Brainnetome

Help me about the new article Brainnetome
Brainnetome is a new concept for using network to understand brain. Also, it is not an advitisement, Like the Connectome [1].

Prof.Tianzi Jiang has proposed the Brainnetome concept in his Plos Computational Biology[2] paper in 2010. Then the Brainnetome Project was supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the National Nature Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Also Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences has build the Brainnetome Center.

In 2013, Prof. Jiang has been invited to write reviewer papers to introduce the Brainnetome Concept at NeuroImage [3] and Neuroscience and biobehavioral reviews [4].

In 2014, Our center also released the first version of Brainnetome Atlas[5], more detail also can be found @ http://atlas.brainnetome.org/atlas.

I think I really do not know how to explain you the important about the new word: Brainnetome. and it should be equal improtant as Connectom.

So could you please kindly help me and teach me how to add this article in wikipedia.

Best

Yours

Yong

Inappropriate use of speedy tag

Please be careful to only deploy speedy deletion tags within their prescribed limits. At the time you tagged Inderjit, the article identified the subject as a footballer. The article may meet other speedy criteria, particularly if it isn't quickly improved, but {{db-nocontext}} does not apply. Swpbtalk 17:22, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Sonnet 146 Edit

Hello Richard: The deletion was not a mistake, although I'm sorry I did not explain in my edit summary. I actually wrote that section myself and I do intend to restore it. I am removing it temporarily so that I can demonstrate to my class how to edit Wikipedia and add footnotes to pages (I have assigned them to write similar sections on their own to add to Wikipedia). I will add it back tomorrow morning. I realize this may be an unusual request, but could you please refrain from restoring the deleted material for now? I promise I will put it back tomorrow--the temporary removal is simply for pedagogical purposes. Thank you. Trixi72 (talk) 01:53, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

About the deletion of "Specifically human basic need":

1., The person who has deleted it ignored completely that the hypothesis was presented in 1968 by an academic doctoral thesis that got published the next year by the Academic Press: Personality dynamics and social existence [In Hungarian: Személyiségdinamika és társadalmi lét]. Bp.: Akadémiai Kiadó [Academic Press], 1969; 231 p. A hypothesis on the specifically human basic need (SHBN) with a structure that is isomorph with a specifically human basic activity: the work as an activity of arranging in a structure ends and means and transfering that structure to various parts of its universe. Garai's publications on "specifically human basic need": http://www.staff.u-szeged.hu/~garai/Strukt.htm#SHBN

2., The Hungarian text of the book got reviewed in English by the longer ever review of the European Journal of Social Psychology: F. Erös: Personality Dynamics and Social Existence, by L. Garai.. 4/3 [1974]. pp. 369-379. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ejsp.2420040308/abstract

3., Garai in 1969-1970 was invited by academicians Keldysh (the president of the Soviet Academy of Sciences) and Kedrov to the Institute for History of Natural Sciences and Technology (Moscow) for applying his hypothesis to studying simultaneous scientific discoveries (such as that of Bolyai and Lobachevsky).

4., In 1971 he was invited to the highly prestigious International Congress of the History of Science to present his findings in a keynote speech: "Hypothesis on the Motivation of Scientific Creativity". "Nauka" Publishing House. M., pp. 224-233. (Russian version: "Гипотеза о мотивации научного творчества"; "Nauka" Publishing House. Moscow.

5., The Hungarian Academic Press in 1980 published collected articles applying the SHBN-hypothesis in aesthetics collected stories: "Szabadságszükséglet és esztétikum" mek.oszk.hu/02700/02799/02799.htm.

6., For the 40th annyversary of the first publication of the Garai's hypothesis "Magyar Tudomány" 2008/9 (the theoretical review of the Presidium of Hungarian Academy of Sciences) published a revisiting paper "A specifikusan emberi alapszükséglet" ("Specifically human basic need revisited") http://www.matud.iif.hu/2009/09sze/16.htm

But if you declare that for the Wikipedia there exists only what exists in English I shall notice it humbly.

About my deletion of the following sentence you contributed to the Dog Consumption in South Korea page: "Hwangu" has been considered better for consumption than "Baekgu" (White dog) and "Heukgu" (Black dog).

What exactly does "better for consumption" mean? Are you suggesting that there is a specific flavor preference or a health benefit associated with eating a particular "type" of dog, or something else? Further, what is the basis for this claim? The sentence is vague, confusing and misleading.

A kitten for you!

Thank you for un-reviewing Marie Della Thomas and informing me about it. I requested the deletion of MARIE DELLA THOMAS under CSD, but someone moved the article to Marie Della Thomas.

Welcoming users

Hi Richard Yin. I see that, like me, you give quite a few welcomes to new users. I was thinking perhaps {{welcomeauto}} might be an alternative to {{uw-autobiography}} for those creating their own BLP pages? Regards, 220 of Borg 04:26, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

220 of Borg: Good idea, thanks for the tip. --Richard Yin (talk) 14:00, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
