Pink Floyd active years

I'm inclined to agree with you and I've been fighting this fight for months, but I think we should leave it as -2006, at least for the time being. The article is currently going through Featured Article review, so I don't want there to be a big edit war about it, and there's a lot more people changing it to 2006 than present after the Gilmour interview.

Sad as it is, though, despite the lack of a managerial statement (and I'm not even sure who manages the band since O'Rourke's death), if Gilmour says they're through, they're pretty much through. He pretty much is the band now - he has the rights to the name along with Mason and Wright, and a Mason/Wright Floyd album is just not a possibility. If they were to cut a new album a few years down the road, the 1965-2006, 2009-present format would be appropriate now. - dharmabum 21:26, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Looks great, I added the film infobox and removed the stub category. One thing I was wondering about, though - I haven't seen P*U*L*S*E in a long time, but my distinct memory from the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert is that almost everybody sung together for the "doctor" part - Gilmour, Carin, Renwick, Pratt, Wright, and the 3 backup singers. Icon and the Black Roses

Sorry if the delete was too quick -- but even if you are going to add more to the article later, you should put something in the original article that indicates that the band satisfies WP:MUSIC ("they had the Top Ten hit "____"), or whatever). There are dozens (probably hundreds) of obscure-band articles created every day, and we would get swamped if we waited several hours on each one to see if notability was going to be asserted later. • You're right, notability is not a speedy-delete criterion -- but *failure to assert notability* is (criterion a7). Again, even the first draft of an article should assert notability -- ideally in the first sentence.

It does not appear to me that one interview on a Portuguese-language music website is enough to establish this band's notability, but if you were to recreate the article with a citation to that interview, I would send it to AFD rather than speedily deleting it.

Regarding 'Anikin Starkiller' ... if this is an early name for the character, you could certainly put that information into Anakin Skywalker and re-create the redirect; the problem with the redirect as it previously existed (now deleted, I see) is that it pointed at an article that did not provide context for the redirect - an unfortunately common occurrence and one that leaves the person following (or interpreting) the link scratching their heads (um, one head per person, that is) as to how the redirecting term relates to the target article. Steven Tyler

Excuse me, but when and where did I ever vandalize anything on the Steven Tyler article? My recent edits include a factoid about the singer appearing in a television commercial, fixing a few years, removing a highly questionable, poorly cited, potentially libelous statement about the singer's personal life, and questioning the OR tag. How does any of that constitute vandalism? I've also been creating articles on Wikipedia for a year now, and the sandbox comment is completely rude and unnecessary. Thank you. Unfortunately there is no change in the volume of good articles in the project. A list of Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes has been created and Alex Drake's article has been made. To do Character profiles, such as Gene Hunt, Sam Tyler, Annie Cartwright and Phyllis Dobbs are close to good article status, with a bit of work, we can do it. Lesser known characters but still of importance, like DC Chris Skelton and DS Ray Carling still need expanding or creating. Everything Ashes to Ashes should be worked on.

New members Llamafish, Gingerclan, Gogorox93, Kaid100, Onshore, Yukichigai and Jamesgibbon joined in January. Theelf29 has left the project.

Creating an Icon & the Black Roses Article

Hi, I'm still new to Wikipedia and was going to create an entry page for Icon & the Black Roses because they've been one of my favorite bands since I heard them back in 2005 when they're album came out. However, when I tried to create a new article, it said it had been deleted by an adminstrator. Then I saw your page under your user name. So I just wondering how you know the band is back together and is coming out with an album this summer? Because I've read that Johnny Icon went solo and is recording his own album, with the songs he wrote called "Lost" (heard it on youtube), and "Innocence". Is this an official wikipedia page or do I have to create another one to show on the main site instead of your user page? What are your sources for them being back together? Ever since I was blown away from their only major release in the U.S., I've been contacting anyone who knows any info on their next album--any info you can give me is much appreciated...Thanks! I read the conversation of the speedy-deletion of your page and I still don't get why it was deleted so quickly--something about the band not being notable and not having enough sources to list their credibility--but what do I know, I still have to get used to the "rules of Wikipedia", as I've only been a user for 5 months. Anyway, I would love to collaborate with you on a new entry article, including an article for their only major album. However, I don't want the same thing to happen to me since I only have their album and a couple of websites as sources, such as myspace and facebook (that's how I knew about Johnny Icon's new song), so I can format the page to Wikipedia's criteria, but that may be deleted also. How can I get started? Should I just format the entry article and list those websites as references? I was going to start a page like this before I saw yours was deleted. I think Icon & the Black Roses should have their own page especially now that they're suposedly coming out with a new album. Sue Kastle (talk) 01:18, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Aptana.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box.
