Speedy deletion nomination of Alex Ajipe

[edit]

Hello Thisissegun,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Alex Ajipe for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Are you being paid to create this effulgent guff? I cannot believe that a sane human being would write stuff like this unbless they 'worked' on PR or advertising.TheLongTone (talk) 15:47, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Alex Ajipe, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:36, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Thisissegun. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Lapablo was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Subject does not meet notability guidelines. In the future it may, but currently there's nothing to suggest otherwise. He's currently the "manager of the industrial hub" in Ondo State which doesn't pass notability. I could only find passing mentions. It is WP:TOOSOON, author should allow sometime before attempting to re-edit. Best regards

Request reason:

Hi, its been 4 months now since I was blocked from editing contents on Wikipedia, I wish to formally appeal the violation I was charged with and I want to humbly state that I never wished or wanted to advertise or promote myself through Wikipedia. I have edited a good number of contents and added few fresh contents with the only intention of improving the Wikipedia information base. I have taken my time to realize my mistakes, while also studied a better way to actually improve Wikipedia without being accused of any violation and I hope I am granted the opportunity to improve contents on Wikipedia. Thanks Thisissegun (talk) 21:17, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You are blocked for using Wikipedia for spam or advertising purposes, not necessarily for advertising or promoting yourself. It's quite clear you have indeed violated our policies on WP:SPAM and WP:PROMO, and possibly WP:COI and WP:PAID, too. Yamla (talk) 10:12, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Comment — @Yamla, you are spot on about the “violating WP:PAID part” I can categorically confirm as a Nigerian that 90% of any article pertaining to “businessmen” “entrepreneurs” “organizations” “musicians” and “actors” created by any Nigerian editor is undisclosed paid editing, if or not it was created by experienced, veteran, senior Nigerian editors or inexperienced NEWBIES it is undisclosed paid editing. A statement I have been making in the last two years and can defend or prove anywhere, if you observe any Nigerian editor creating suspicious looking articles from the aforementioned it is blatant UPE, experienced or not. For example this is the latest (a very experienced Nigerian editor) and this is from some years back (another experienced Nigerian editor). So yup! the decision to decline was spot on. Appeal

Request reason:

With deep regrets, I wish to appeal my restriction from editing on Wikipedia. it's been over 12 months since I was blocked and I want to categorically state that I won't go against the rules guiding me as a Wikipedia editor, all this while, I had only the good intentions of improving contents on Wikipedia. I have learnt a good lesson to be more conscious and responsible to how I create and improve contents. I hope I am availed the privilege to write on Wikipedia again. Thanks as I await your kind response. Thisissegun (talk) 17:34, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

In order to be unblocked, you will have to either convince us that you understand why you were blocked, and that you will not repeat the behaviour that led to the block, or that the original block was unjustified on its merits (i.e. that you were not in fact using Wikipedia for advertising). Since this request fails to do either of those things, I am declining it. --Blablubbs (talk) 09:15, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PhilKnight:, i was never a paid editor. the topic i was writing on belongs to a popular figure and i had already written more than 4 profiles for prominent individuals and all these people, i don't even know them personally or in any way related to them. i have no personal relationship with the topics and i didn't receive any form of compensation. one of the mistakes i made was the numerous times i submitted the profiles for approval which i agree that it was suspicious. i didn't know that multiple submissions of profiles could lead to this.
