WikiCup 2015 launch newsletter
Round one of the 2015 WikiCup has begun! So far we've had around 80 signups, which close on February 5. If you have not already signed up and want to do so, then you can add your name here. There have been changes to to several of the points scores for various categories, and the addition of Peer Reviews for the first time. These will work in the same manner as Good Article Reviews, and all of the changes are summarised here.
Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round, and one of the new changes this year is that all scores must be claimed within two weeks of an article's promotion or appearance, so don't forget to add them to your submissions pages! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Ready For Love reverts
Hi, considering you've reverted my attempts to add the Australian airdate of Ready For Love (TV series) several times now, I'm wondering why the latest source was not valid, and if you could possibly find a valid source. Whats new? (talk) 08:36, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- Whats new? the last ref showed garbled output when I looked at it. You need a WP:RS for your WP:IC. I am unable to find a RS.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:20, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

- TonyTheTiger I've added a format parameter in the reference, so it shows the link is a .doc file, which may assist some users with browsers unable to load documents within the browser. Thanks for your assistance. Whats new? (talk) 11:01, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Your input is requested . . . .
Hey, Tony. Happy New Year. I'd like to get your opinion on this revised infobox template for college football players: [1]. After determining what data points to include, we'll recruit a template editor to handle the coding for us. Once we determine what fields we're adding and what we're deleting, then we'll work on the modified graphics. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 16:43, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- Tony, when you get a chance, I've responded to the questions you asked on the sandbox talk page. Please let me know if the answers are satisfactory, or if you still have concerns. Given your long history with WP:CFB, you've more than earned the right to have your say and I want you to be comfortable with what we're doing. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 23:51, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Chennai Express GA
I had nominated and fixed the problems with this article a year back, but it's been on hold ever since. I had a back injury soon and forgot about it, when I was inactive. Now that I am back, I think the article can be promoted. EthicallyYours! 08:20, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Ethically Yours, Talk:Chennai Express/GA1 was closed unsuccessfully. It is not on hold. You will need to renominate the article in order to pursue a promotion.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:49, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- Well then, would you re-assess it if I renominate? At this juncture I do not see any problem. EthicallyYours! 05:05, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- Ethically Yours, I do not forsee myself being involved in the new review.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 02:37, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Piper Chapman
The article Piper Chapman you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Piper Chapman for reasons why the nomination failed. Template:Orpheus and Eurydice
I see that you reverted my edit to the Orpheus and Eurydice template. As long as Orpheus and Eurydice is a disambiguation page, any intentional links to that page should be piped through the (disambiguation) redirect per WP:INTDABLINK. This piping allows those of us at WP:DPL (and the bots that help us) to know that the link is intentional. -Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 23:17, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Speaking of templates
Do you care to do a template on Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice? They each have separate musicals templates, but not a template of the musicals they did together. Since they were (and are) such a famous duo, their musicals deserve to be collected in a navbox. The template could resemble Template:Rodgers and Hammerstein and/or Template:Rodgers and Hart, but it can start really simple with just their musicals. The musicals they did together are:
- The Likes of Us
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- Jesus Christ Superstar
- Evita
- Cricket
- The Wizard of Oz (additional music and lyrics)
- Songs
- "Any Dream Will Do"
- "Close Every Door"
- "Everything's Alright"
- "This Jesus Must Die"
- "I Don't Know How to Love Him"
- "Superstar"
- "Oh What a Circus"
- "Another Suitcase in Another Hall"
- "Don't Cry for Me Argentina"
- "You Must Love Me"
- Films
- Related articles
- Albums (can go in the Related Articles section or separately [before?])
- Template:Jesus Christ Superstar (has up to three cast albums to list)
- Template:Evita (has two albums to list)
Anyway, let me know. I've thought about doing one myself but I just haven't had the brainpower and am a true novice at templates. Plus you are such an old hand at this you could bang it out probably in your sleep. Thanks, Softlavender (talk) 01:34, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- Softlavender is their a joint article or category?--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:28, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- No article, probably because they basically split up after Evita. So the title of the template wouldn't be a single article title, but rather both of their names (plus probably the word "musicals"). There should be a Category (like Category:Musicals by Rodgers and Hammerstein), but there isn't one yet. Softlavender (talk) 06:35, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- I went through and found all the songs they wrote together that have articles, and posted them above. I have this page on my Watch list now, so if you reply here I will see it. Softlavender (talk) 11:11, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- I don't understand why you can't just create this yourself based on the templates you think I should model this off of, but I will get to this one soon.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:59, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
- I may be able to; that occurred to me as I finished gathering all that information. You're a tough Sensei ; this happened the last time I asked you to help me do an infobox -- you stalled so long I did it myself and I found out I wasn't as helpless as I thought. Cheers, Softlavender (talk) 06:17, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
- Done! turned out fine. Thanks for being a shoulder to lean on; I guess I just needed some moral support for trying something new. Softlavender (talk) 09:05, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
- Great.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:34, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

About B'Ginnings deletion, "verifiable media coverage", I read many different source articles,(Variety, Billboard, New York Times, Rolling Stone), back in the day, about upcoming club events/ artist tours, reviews of recent notable shows, during the time it was open for business.
I worked for the club as Sound Engineer, Stage Manager, Lighting Technician, Disc Jockey 1975-1977.
I worked closely with all the bands that performed there, also work closely with the manager(s), promoters, radio, and print media reps. We also had subscriptions(delivered to the club), for Variety, Billboard, Rolling Stone, New York Times, L.A. Times, as well as all Chicago area newspapers. If that was the reason for deletion, have that portion removed, Seeing as though archival information of that type can't be properly confirmed,it doesn't make the source info,(me)false, therefore, leading to the deletion of the whole article. Django Unchained
Hello Tiger, I'm little confused about this review. Will you please take a look at the review? I nominated the article but the reviewer didn't inform anything at the time of start or the time of finishing the review. I just wanted to let know an experienced editor. Does it need again to be reviewed or is it good? Thanks. --Captain Assassin! «T ♦ C ♦ G» 10:46, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Captain Assassin!, you will rarely get the type of review I gave you for Dallas Buyers Club at WP:GAN, but the review you got was suspect.
