Speedy deletion of Ysgol bro myrddin

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ysgol bro myrddin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Rambutan (talk) 17:26, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:St. Mary's Church, Llanllwch.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:St. Mary's Church, Llanllwch.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

AfD nomination of Towy boat club

[edit]

Towy boat club, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Towy boat club satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Towy boat club and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Towy boat club during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia by inserting "Wales forever" on the article. Your test on the page England worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Please do not remove a notability tag without making some effort to actually prove the article refers to something notable. As I'm sure you're well aware this is the English language wikipedia, as such any articles in any other language may be removed. As such please do not add articles, or paragraphs to articles in a language other than English. --Blowdart | talk 18:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tylluan Wen

[edit]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Tylluan Wen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Brechfa Mountain Biking

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Brechfa Mountain Biking, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Brechfa Mountain Biking article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Village pump". You can also leave a message on my talk page. ... discospinster talk 18:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Copyrighted Images on Carmarthen

I've removed the photos you have referenced in the Carmarthen article as they contain a Copyright Notice. This type of image may not be used on Wikipedida - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#User-created_images

Please do not revert to using them. If you want to contribute your own photos, you must not place copyright notices on the images themselves.

Please add to the discussion if you wish to add your images to the Carmarthen article. Constantly reverting back in a flame war style is unhelpful and damaging to the site. Images in articles

[edit]

The gallery was removed from the Kings Park, Western Australia in accordance with WP:MOS and Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Photo_galleries as all but one image is available on Commons, that image was moved into the text body. Additionally the image of the perth skyline from Kings Park offers nothing to article that warrants its inclusion as the lead section image, thats because its not of the Park. The article should actually have an infobox added with the logo of Kings Park and Botanical Gardens Authority seal. I have revert back to previous version. • I've now tagged this image for speedy deletion as a blatant copyright infringement, the image having been taken from her web site. Images you find somewhere on the net are subject to copyright. Unless they are specifically released by the copyright holder in a way that independent editors here can confirm, we assume the images are copyrighted. If in fact you are the rights holder to this image, you can submit this claim to the the OTRS team, releasing the image under a free license in the process. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 19:17, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I've placed five uploads of yours for deletion at Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2009_November_11. These are:

I'll re-iterate; you have no rights to images you find from ANY source, much less the Internet, unless you personally took the photographs in question. Given that you are still in school, it's completely unlikely you are 89 years old or more, and took an image such as File:Dark Gate 1930 1.jpg yourself. You did not create this work yourself. Someone else did, and you are stealing it by claiming it as yours. It's even worse when you place a watermark on it as you did in File:Dark Gate 1930.jpg claiming it as yours right on the image itself.

This is absolutely blatant theft and can not be tolerated. If you are uncertain about the copyright status of an image, ask. But, do not continue to upload images that you personally did not stand behind the camera and click the little button for. I hope I'm being clear. If not, ask for more clarification. --Hammersoft (talk) 19:51, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Commons and PNGs

[edit]

Why on earth have you uploaded photographs, such as File:Bro Myrddin o Alltycnap (Llanllwch).png, in PNG format? JPG is the appropriate format for photographs. You will note that a PNG file is about 6 times bigger than a JPG of the same image.

If there any images which you have actually created yourself, please upload then to the Commons. Surely you want the Welsh Wikipedia to be able to use the images? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:10, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pont King Morgan Bridge.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for uploading File:Rhyshuw1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. The article Brechfa Mountain Biking has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

OR, opinion, and advertisement.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sven Manguard Wha? 21:38, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Carmarthenshire Cheese Company, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Welsh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on File:Llangynog 1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 14:34, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Boom Pictures

[edit]

Hello Rhyshuw1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Boom Pictures for deletion, because it seems to be an promotion, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 21:10, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Boom Pictures

[edit]

Hello, Rhyshuw1,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Boom Pictures should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Boom Pictures .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 08:56, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Original Barnstar
Hello Rhys,

Thanks for the excellent photo of Carmarthen. It was helpful in my research on my latest novel. How ironic that the two main characters are called Rhys and Thomas. How is that for serendipity!

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Brechfa Aerial.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Towy Boat Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
