Sysyphus

My dear chap can you explain to me why do you deleted the page dedicated to the Pink Floyd song called Sysyphus? I Am the president of the international Pink Floyd Fan Club and we are all outraged for what you did. We thought that Wikipedia was a free encyclopedia and we have never believed that you do this. And therefore we want you to reestablish immediately the page about this song and if the page was written in a wrong way you could have told us so that we could do this page better. Oh another question, Are You A Fan Of Pink Floyd? If yes please told me so that we can do this page better for the future generations of Pink Floyd fans, and of Wikipedians also. Yours sincerely, 80.116.151.179 (talk) 20:03, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

I didn't delete the article, I protected the redirect. It was made into a redirect because of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sysyphus and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pink Floyd/Archive 3#Cleanup listing for WikiProject Pink Floyd. If you think that Sysyphus should exist as a stand alone article then I suggest you register an account and write an article complete with valid references. The main problem that I could see from the deletion discussion was the lack of reliable sources. Make sure that the account is only used by one person and not by several and does not have a promotional name such as User:PinkFloydFanClub. You can write the article in the draft space or in your own sandbox. If you look at the page history you can see what the problems were with the article the way it was. If you do decide to try and fix the problems then let me know and I will help if I can. Finally the fact that I am/am not a fan of Pink Floyd has nothing to do with my editing on Wikipedia. Yellowknife

Even though it may be a slogan, it can still be considered a nickname of the city. For example look at Edmonton, "Oil City". North Bay, "Gateway to the North", Winnipeg, "Gateway to the West", Windsor, "Automotive Capital of Canada", Niagra Falls, "Honeymoon Capital of the World", Chatham, "The Classic Car Capital of Canada", Saint John, "Canada's Most Irish City", Churchill, "Polar Bear Capital of the World", Oliver, "Wine Capital of Canada", Abbotsford, "Berry Capital of Canada", Campbell River, "Salmon Capital of the World", Lloydminster, "Heavy Oil Capital of Canada"....... All of these can also be found on List of city nicknames in Canada. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 20:33, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

There is already a citation on Yellowknife's website stating they are the diamond capital of North America. Why did you put that "citation needed" link? Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:25, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

So why don't you put a citation needed caption on other sources like Chatham, Oliver, Abbotsford, Edmonton for "City of Champions" etc. because they can also be deemed as advertising slogans. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:32, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Also, are there no sources online for citation of "YK" and "The Blade"? Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:37, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Why should Yellowknife be any different? If Yellowknife is like that, they should all be like that, or none at all. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:40, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Ok great addition to the board, I am going to remove the tag you added to Yellowknife and the list of nicknames until a census is reached. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:51, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
For "YK" and "The Blade"? Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:55, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

No, I was asking if you if there were no citable sources online for "YK" and "The Blade". Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:59, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Amish Romance

Greetings...I made an edit to the subject "Amish Romance", and it was removed twice. My particular edit did not contain any information that differed from the other authors listed on that page. They stated selling millions of copies of their books, and I also stated selling one million copies of a particular series in its first year of publication. Sarah Price and I are both Indie authors and have been offered a contract for traditional publishing from the same publishing house, though I did not mention that, I stated I had been offered a contract, but had stayed true to being an Indie author. I do not understand why my addition to this article is considered to be promotional when it states the same FACTS as the other authors that have submitted edits to this article (or had friends do this for them). Please return my particular post, because I did not state anything in it that was not fact, and who better to present the facts about this than the author? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samantha Bayarr (talkcontribs) 22:05, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

block of SleepCovo

Hi -- I'm concerned about the block of User:SleepCovo. I accept that one doesn't need to exceed 3RR to be edit-warring. But the number of reverts by that editor (e.g. on Michael Grimm) was the same as the number of reverts by the other editor (Collect) -- so it's hard to see why one should be blocked and not the other. Any thoughts? Thanks! Nomoskedasticity (talk) 11:42, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

I also noticed this. I think the block was an overreaction. Multiple articles should not be lumped together to make such a block. TL565 (talk) 18:14, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
Nomoskedasticity. Normally I wouldn't block but protect the article. If users are blocked they can't discuss the problem. In this case it wasn't just Michael Grimm there was Charles B. Rangel, Jerry McNerny, Barbara Lee and George Miller. The first two were reverted by Collect and the last three by Binksternet. If it was just the one article then protection but by the time it got to five there seemed to me little else to do. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 14:07, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
TL565. It is evidence of a pattern of edit warring. Wikipedia:Edit warring points out that there does not have to be more than three reverts in a 24 hour period. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 18:26, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Page protection on Bleona

Hey there, Happy New Year! I was just about to decline the protection request on this page, as I can't really see any vandalism in ages, and all the recent editors are longstanding. Just thought I'd raise it. GedUK  12:47, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, we are counsel for Bleona and submitted the initial request for semi-protection on her page. Two users in particular have made at least 9 changes to Bleona's page within the last couple of months: Icarusgeek and User2176. They are persistently changing her birth date, photo, and other biographical information. We'd appreciate if you could please explain why these constant changes don't justify semi-protection, as it appears that these users are consistently targeting her. Thanks very much for your help. Counselb (talk) 03:08, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Might also protect Asami Sato page

Asami Sato is getting the same daily-removal-of-relationship-status hits from anonymous (IP-only) editors as Korra is; we've been keeping on eye on it and reverting, but it's annoying. Maybe throw the same confirmed-users-only flag on it to try to quash this? Solarbird (talk) 00:15, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. Hopefully it'll die out in a week. Solarbird (talk) 06:59, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
We now have an editor Dubcity4 coming in and repeatedly deleting content and reverting restorations; they've thrown in four reversions just today, and is accusing the three editors protesting his deletions of edit wars and has thus far refused to take it to Talk (tho' his latest reversion comment says he will). I understand this reversion count is a violation of 3R rules and should get him blocked from the article for 24 hours. This is on the GBLT topic again and we had consensus in talk on it except for this editor. Solarbird (talk) 06:00, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, and sorry this article is being such a pain. I'm still trying to get something constructive (meaning something other than because-fan-wiki and because-I-said-so) out of him on Talk; we'll see. Solarbird (talk) 06:48, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Request of ban for anonymous IP

Hello,

Previously I've requested protection for article Yeni Şafak and you did it. But the anonymous user who was emtying the page is back. As you can see at his edit history, he is emptying the articles he doesn't like. He is doing it from the same IP for a long time. So this time I request a permanent ban for this IP please. Thanks. Gezginrocker (talk) 07:24, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Asami Sato unprotection

Hi, could you lift the protection? It looks like there is agreement, at Talk:Asami Sato#Lead sentence proposal, on how to address the issue that led to the edit war. The 61-edits-contributor who was on one end of the edit war hasn't commented yet, but I don't think that there's much to be gained in terms of consensus by waiting on them.  Sandstein  19:46, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

An issue

AN isue came up where a more obvious banned editor had posted something to ANI, I had removed it, and then two other editors assumed that the content was either valid or that I shouldn't have removed it because I was the subject of the report. One of these editors has started a malformed AN3 report, even though I am fairly certain that 3RRNO is still valid.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 09:24, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

One purpose account vandal User:Auckland59

I actually think this edit deserves an immediate indef block. Thanks.

User:Martinevans123 I think you are right so I blocked them. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 20:20, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi CambridgeBayWeather,

Please remove page protection from the above article. Unfortunately, the editor who requested protection (See here.), is same editor responsible for violating multiple policies: 1) by removing editors comments from another editor's talk page: (See here.); 2) misquoting policy: (See here.); 3) refusing to acknowledge that BLP rules only apply to living persons, not those who have been deceased for two years: (See here.); 4) and admitting his/her refusal to edit collaboratively and intention to edit disruptively: (See here.)

Further, a review of the article's edit log (See here.) will show that there is no more reason to protect this page than every other page where editors are trying to resolve disputes. I have even said I will not edit war, but will simply report POV pushing: (See here.)

And where this editor should rightfully be sanctioned for the above behavior, which I explained (See here.); granting PP, simply rewards (and further encourages) this editor; and neither addresses nor resolves the larger issue of the POV pushing there.

Many thanks for reviewing my request and hopefully, also addressing my concerns. Regards. 2602:306:BD61:E0F0:DC43:6AD0:8320:410A (talk) 22:26, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Ahum...well...you can't edit war if the page is protected...so if you're not going to edit war then why do you need the page unprotected? So you can use multiple IP's to try and evade 3RR while warning others about same. IP, what was your username when you were last site banned?--MONGO 00:44, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
  • This is precisely why this PP does nothing to curb disruptive behavior. As the above plainly shows, in the absence of any real answers to the documented evidence I've provided - this editor can only stalk and troll. 2602:306:BD61:E0F0:DC43:6AD0:8320:410A (talk) 01:08, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
This page is on my watch list. What was your username before you were site banned?--MONGO 01:22, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
That's interesting you know about that essay, "newbie".--MONGO 02:12, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Before patting yourself on the back too vigorously there, "Sparky", you might just want to type the phrase: "When did you stop beating your wife?" into WP's search. Or just Google it. Then, Eureka! Per the line attributed to Lincoln: “Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” I now understand why you are no longer an admin. But proceed. I'm done feeding the troll. 2602:306:BD61:E0F0:DC43:6AD0:8320:410A (talk) 02:56, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Yeah right...and why would you know I was or am no longer an admin. Evading your ban is no surprise...all this POV pushing is probably why you were banned.--MONGO 03:15, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Just curious but are you folks done or was there something else? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 14:14, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Was wondering why you did a full protection when the problem isn't with the vested contributors but instead with the guys using multiple IPs. It doesn't matter that much overall but I failed to see the rationale behind it.--MONGO 15:13, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Naturally, the editor whose POV pushing was the real problem would complain that your block dared to prevent his POV pushing. Now he can happily return to pushing POV with impunity - because "guys using multiple IPs" were the real problem? Now that we've all had our laugh for the day, seriously, CambridgeBayWeather, you've already moderated the block once. Now kindly moderate it fairly for all editors. Thanks. 2602:306:BD61:E0F0:DC43:6AD0:8320:410A (talk) 18:46, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
He did modify it for all editors. Hugs and kisses.--MONGO 03:14, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

THANK YOU...

The Emerson BLP was beginning to feel a lot like what happens when a FA makes the main page, only for much different reasons. AtsmeConsult 23:29, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

The remark by Atsme above is factually accurate, but the reasons are indeed very different, and appropriate response correspondingly different. In common, I suspect, with many of wikpedia's European editors, I had never heard of Steven Emerson until he hit the UK headlines with his outrageous remark about Birmingham. I then encountered his fantasies about muslim no-go areas and his earlier statement that "Europe is finished", in the light of which the current lead is wholly misleading and unbalanced. You have said
(Changed protection level of Steven Emerson: Violations of the biographies of living persons policy ([Edit=Allow only administrators] (expires 22:36, 19 January 2015 (UTC))))
I think you owe it to us to spell out what "violations" you are talking about and to make clear that, for example, the view of the British Prime Minister that Emerson is a "complete idiot" can be given appropriate prominence. SamuelTheGhost (talk) 16:01, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
User:SamuelTheGhost, It was the edit warring over things like this and this. I'm not going to make a statement as to what is undue prominence for the article. If I do then I'm involved and shouldn't be protecting it. That is something that the regular editors need to decide on the talk page. All I was doing was stopping the edit war. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:45, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for that clarification. SamuelTheGhost (talk) 13:10, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Infobox Olympics Kosovo

It's absolutely unacceptable to revert an edit without consulting with the reasons. You have to add Albania back because:

Albania should be included in the infobox for the following reasons:
  1. Following Kosovo's independence and the IOC's resistance to recognise Kosovo, athletes born there, decided to participate under the flags of Serbia and Albania. Therefore, if the Serbian flag stays in the infbox, the Albanian one should as well, as those were the official other-related appearances of Kosovo's athletes (and let's not forget that the basic rule of the Olympics is that the competition is about the athletes, not their countries of origin).
  2. If the Albanian flag is removed from the infobox, because *apparently* you can't add athlete's personal choices' countries, then you should remove Serbia as well, because de facto Kosovo was not part of Serbia since February 2008 (before the 2008 Summer Olympics)
  3. This case is similar to the Independent Olympic Team appearance. Basically if athletes from one country can't participate for their country (like Kosovar athletes for Kosovo), they participate under ANOTHER flag, in this case the IOP; and if the IOP flag is added to the infobox, the Albanian one should as well.

--PjeterPeter (talk) 12:44, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Take it to the talk page of the infobox. I reverted to before the edit war not to a version that I prefer. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 14:40, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Request

As an uninvolved admin I was wondering if you have the time to review an issue discussed in a user talk page thread and offer whatever thoughts or take whatever action you deem appropriate. The thread is pretty self explanatory, as I think I laid out the case well there. The user quickly deleted it from his talk page but it is found under "GNU/Linux" here. Thank you for considering this request. - Ahunt (talk) 12:42, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for addressing this. Sorry that you also just got a bunch of rudeness, inaccurate information and deflection in response. - Ahunt (talk) 22:42, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Power Rangers Dino Charge

I see that on January 2, you protected Power Rangers Dino Charge, which currently redirects to Power Rangers. There have been developments since then, namely a trailer confirming that the series starts on February 7. Nickelodeon has also today released a 90 second clip from the first episode. As such, I think it's about time the season got it's own article, and so I would like to please request that the page be unlocked so that an article can be created. Concerned about what is being deleted from my info about Taylor Liane Chandler

I am trying to complete, or add to, a biography of Taylor Lianne Chandler. Pen names that she's used are public informaiton with cited sources. Why have they been deleted? THank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cantonhonhun (talkcontribs) 15:37, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Really confused about Ms. Chandler

Why has the length of her books been deleted? That is important to anyone looking to read/buy them, and is further documentable on the cited source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cantonhonhun (talkcontribs) 15:39, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Re: Chandler bio

Why is there no citation needed for her date of birth and name, but obviously more citations needed for her aliases? Citations have been in her own words quoted in the papers noted. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cantonhonhun (talkcontribs) 16:18, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

No offense, but your comment there was quite rude and WP:BITEy. The {{2nd chance}} template used by Kinu specifically said to Copy the source of that article and paste it to the bottom of your talk page under a new top-level heading (like this: = [[Article title]] =) and save the page before you improve it. It would've been quite easy to stick a note there to comply with CC-BY-SA. While you're at it, would you take a few minutes to review the unblock request on the merits? Cheers, --L235 (t / c / ping in reply) 23:46, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

User:Lixxx235, the template is incorrect as it encourages copyvios. At the very least it needs to make sure that any non-free images are removed. Anyway I unblocked them. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 23:58, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

I requested it to be semi-protected as per one of the user's comments in the article's Peer review. The user suggested that the article, even though it looked better, needed stability. It is not just IP editors but editors who are not autoconfirmed. — Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:50, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
User:Ssven2, I've semi-protected it but out of the editors listed Wikipedia:Peer review/Enthiran/archive1 at least two of them are auto-confirmed by now. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 04:59, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

New legal threat with hysterical comment and personal attack on her talkpage, full of spelling mistakes, even reference-editing mistake in the article. I have left it as it is for now, so that you and others can see how bad this is. When will the harassment end?Zigzig20s (talk) 14:33, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

The new edits also don't match what sources say. The countless newspaper articles don't say she was fired because of North Korea; but because she suggested President Obama would only like films about slavery, because he is black. Please help--beyond the legal threat and personal attacks--I can't be the only person watching this page. The new edits must be removed, unless we want her Wikipedia page to be fiction separate from the references.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:54, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
There IS a legal threat: "Libel suit waiting to happen as he ha now demonstrated an uninterest in truth."Zigzig20s (talk) 15:27, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
[[User:Zigzig20s, I think you will need a second opinion on that. I don't see it as a clear cut legal threat. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 15:36, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
I took it to ANI. If someone threats you with a libel suit, that sounds to me like a legal threat. Also, I hope you have noticed how they are trying to focus on the date when her contract expired/she left (basically she was fired before her contract expired, but they refuse to say that) and the rollback (which I didn't ask for and was my first ever use then, as it seemed appropriate), and yet they have edited the page to make it sound like she was a Sony hack hero, instead of the fact, backed up by all the references, that she was fired for her "racially insentitive" remarks. I guess once the legal threat and personal attacks are removed, I will have to re-edit the page one by one, by looking at each sentence and each reference and frankly, I'd rather be doing something else. But why is no one else doing more to keep the page as close to the references as possible?Zigzig20s (talk) 15:49, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
OK that's probably the best thing. I looked through the page and there are no references to say that she was fired other than her claim. The claim of being fired does not in fact indicate why she felt that. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 16:52, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Are you saying you don't believe she was fired even though she said, "I was fired"?Zigzig20s (talk) 17:34, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
What I'm saying is the only mention of firing was in the one interview. There has been no confirmation of that anywhere else and every other source says she is stepping down. It's a BLP so you can say at such and such a time and place she said something. But you can't say that she was definitely. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 17:39, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
It's on youtube if you don't trust the third-party sources in reputable newspapers. The company is not going to say, "we fired her."Zigzig20s (talk) 17:49, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
It's fine I don't need to go to Youtube. I'm sure the New York Times and Variety have it correct. But all that will allow you to do is state that on the program mentioned she stated she was fired. It can't be said with an authoritative voice that she was fired. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

House of Cards (season 3)

Hi there, I've noticed you fully protected House of Cards (season 3) for a week (until February 28), I was wondering if this could be decreased by like, a day. Just because the entire season premieres on February 27 and it will helpful for the article to be able to be edited once the season is released for updated information to be added. I don't suspect any editing warring will happen once the season is released, because all episode titles (which was the subject of the editing warring causing the article to be locked) will be known. Thank you for your time. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:22, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Indonesian Airport Vandal

Hi CBW! It looks more and more WP:AIV is essentially ineffective as they don't seem to understand airport IP vandalism at all, so I'm in need of your help again, asking you to block User:139.195.16.99 and maybe also protect Soekarno–Hatta International Airport. This IP has been adding outdated destinations (even added outdated sources) and has been fanning out these non-routes to other airports. Thanks for looking into this! If the picture I used was taken directly from the church website (http://www.foresthillcofc.org/cgi-bin/elders.pl) that is in charge of the school (in this case, Memphis School of Preaching), and used in an article about that same school, I don't quite understand how that is a copyright violation. I didn't alter or misuse the picture. It is being used on Wikipedia to serve the exact same purpose as it is on website I used it from.

I also can't find any copyright information on the website where I found the picture. Does this change anything?

I've never dealt with pictures in Wikipedia, so this is all new to me. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nstacks (talkcontribs) 23:17, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

RE: Edit warring

I'm sorry, it's just that F1rdaus22 keeps deleting a large amount of content from the Hey Violet article, with no explanation, edit summary, talk page discussion or anything like that. This is presumably because the band used to be under a different name, but it doesn't mean they are a different band. How should I handle this? Kokoro20 (talk) 23:47, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

RE: Edit warring

Hi Administrator and Kokoro20. The reason for my edits on the Hey Violet page is that the band are indeed a new band with new music and a new start. The band themselves cited this on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/heyvioletofficial/posts/794343460603450?comment_id=797047460333050&offset=0&total_comments=40). The current content on the Hey Violet page focuses upon a genre of music and history that no longer pertains to the new direction that the band have gone. My edits acknowledge the history of Cherri Bomb but they also underline the fact that Hey Violet are a new band with a new sound - this new direction and sound is the present and future of the band. My opinion is that the current content on the Wikipedia focuses too much on their Cherri Bomb past and does not address the significance of their name change and new music. They are no longer a "hard rock" band and Julia Pierce, who has not been a part of the band for the last two years and has had absolutely no involvement with Hey Violet, should not be a primary focus in the article. F1rdaus22 (talk) 12:29, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Thanks, but you protected the page Bosnia and Herzegovina as edits were being made, thus resulting in a reference missing in the Infobox. The red warning message on top of a level-4 (nation) article looks very bad. Not to mention that you now froze a non-sourced claim by someone that Bosniaks (presumably mostly Muslim) make majority in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which I was trying to revert which may look like violation of 3R rule but only because no one is watching the page but me and I don't have admin privileges to block IP and other vandals... Sevvyan (talk) 00:00, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Since you protected this, I can't mend the referencing error until 4 March. It will have to stay broken, and on Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting until then. -- Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Thu 08:51, wikitime= 00:51, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Bosnia and Herzegovina (2)

Thanks for fixing the missing reference warning, but... What you have done now is fixing the reference warning while allowing a potentially disastrous edit for at least a week. The reference is to a gossip website www.doznajemo.com (Bosnian for: This Just In), on their allegedly exclusive access to new census data in Bosnia. The data are sealed by the government and international peace implementation council because it's the first census since before the bloodshed of 1990s. Their "exclusive" information would have the extremely sensitive balance of ethnic groups heavily disturbed. Please remove that edit/provocation immediately and revert to the CIA World Factbook reference, or unlock the article. Sevvyan (talk) 01:29, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Thank you.

I really appreciate you've restricted access to the article for a limited time. I really want to clear up the mess with Spshu and some wrong sources from a well-recognized European webpage (which some data there is right and wrong at the same time). I expect the conflict to be fixed.

Cheers. -Bankster1 (talk) 04:13, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey.

Please do not revert my changes to the Rashidun Caliphate article without stating a reason. Further, you have removed an entire set of changes rather than trying to address a specific issue with a specific, individual revision.

Eternal of sirus (talk) 08:08, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

In response to your message
How do I see the reversion message, then? All I see is "Reverted to revision 647533921 by 129.215.5.253".
And my apologies, I did not know new discussions went to the bottom of the page. I will take it to that page's talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eternal of sirus (talkcontribs) 08:20, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
I suppose what I take particular objection to is the whole-sale removal of everything I have changed with a claim that I have removed sourced sections. This is true, but I believe it is for the best. Most of my edits, however, remove sections that are entirely unsourced and support a particular interpretation of events in a partisan manner, or change wording to be more neutral. University of Texas Austin

You blocked myself and RandolphDuke for engaging in an edit war on this article page. The blocks were warranted and probably necessary. However, just to let you know that the other poster almost immediately reengaged in the edit war as soon as his 24 hour block was removed. I highly disagree with his arbitrary removal of valid information and would like to have at least a single other editor agree or even offer ANY support for his position. However he has made it clear, both before the 24 hour block and after, that he wishes to have full control of this page with total editorial control. I am too emotionally involved with this editor to be able to offer a non-biased opinion at this point. Do you have the time and willingness to serve as abitrator and to let him know that restarting the edit war after a 24 hour block is probably not a smart idea? Thanks. Request to keep an eye on Airbus A330neo and protect it if needed

Hello CambridgeBayWeather!

The A330neo article has seen quite some disruptive editing from a bunch of unregistered IPs who keep reverting edits made by registered users. There is also a discussion on the talk page regarding the issue.

I request you to take a look at the editing history of the article and decide if the disruptive edits are enough to issue semi protection for the page. If they are, please do so immediately. If not, please keep an eye on the page as it is likely these edits will only continue in the upcoming days.

Thanks! Rihaz (talk) 04:57, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

The second Battle of Tikrit article.(protected)

Hi, I was wondering if there was any chance of editing the mentioned during the time that it is protected. I have submitted numerous edit requests backed up by a host of citations which I also included but there doesn't seem to be any response. Also a consensus was reached for the number/strength figure to be provided in the table of the article. Are there to be no changes to the article until a week from now or is there something that can be done? Thanks.Parsa1993 (talk) 02:01, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Perhaps it's time to lock down the article, again. I've been attempting to tag the questionable materials being discussed, rather than reverting, but I seem to have made too many mistakes. HughD is not even attempting to avoid reverting. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:00, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi CBW. I appreciate your effort to reduce tension at Donors Trust, but I don't think that protection is the solution in this particular case. There hasn't been any persistent edit warring. There is no doubt a series of content disputes that have been going on, but they have actually been resolving themselves semi-efficiently on the talk page, despite stubbornness and tendentiousness on both sides. One side is trying to make substantial changes and the other side is trying to keep the page as is, more or less. I predict that full prot will only embolden the status quo-ers (including Arthur) and lead to less consensus-building rather than more.
A better solution, in my view, would be to get more eyes on the page and to encourage DR. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 17:57, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

BC vs BCE

Thank you for informing me of the rules regarding BC vs BCE as I was not aware of them. As I was perusing the Wikipedia page for the Achaemenid Empire for essay purposes, I noted the repeated use of the term BCE rather than BC. This is a personal gripe of mine as I had always been taught BC and I do prefer it. As such, I made an account and changed it to the traditional BC. I was not aware of the rules regarding dating systems and I am glad that you brought it to my attention, it shan't happen again and I apologise.
