Your edit summary at Canada[edit]

Glide08, I did not remove the shield because "it's just a shield" or because it is in some way inaccurate. I removed it because you inaccurately described it as the coat of arms when it is not. Your caption said "coat of arms". I think you know this and are being deliberately obtuse. Citobun (talk) 06:38, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Canada. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.

I count three edits on the page in 15 hours (now 17 hours). You might want to restart the discussion if you want the change. I can't see this going very well for you if you make a fourth revert to the page in the next day, possibly two. There are at least two editors clearly against the addition. I simply don't see it as a consensus addition. Walter Görlitz (talk) 08:40, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Please read WP:ARBPIA3#500/30: "All IP editors, accounts with fewer than 500 edits, and accounts with less than 30 days tenure are prohibited from editing any page that could be reasonably construed as being related to the Arab-Israeli conflict."

And yes, that includes you, at the moment. Please edit less controversial areas of Wikipedia that the Israel-Palestine area, until you reach the required edits, thanks, Huldra (talk) 20:29, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Prime Minister of Argentina, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 85.138.157.36 (talk) 17:23, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Note on Prime Minister of Peru article[edit]

The supposed "prime minister" of Argentina is not really one, because their only function is to coordinate ministerial work in the government and as a interlocutor between executive and legislative branches (countersignature is not required, as it would be needed from a genuine prime minister). B.Lameira (talk) 19:12, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Counter-example: Under the Kenyan National Accord and Reconciliation Act, 2008, an office of Prime Minister of Kenya was established. According to that act "The Prime Minister[...]shall have authority to co-ordinate and supervise the execution of the functions and affairs of the Government, including those of Ministries." There is no mention of a countersignature anywhere in that act. According to your logic, the Office of Prime Minister of Kenya established under the National Accord and Reconciliation Act is not a genuine Prime Minister, just because there is no provision for a countersignature!

2020 Israeli election[edit]

Please stop trying to force the other election infobox into the article. We should be consistent on which infobox we use throughout an article series.

Even though there are fewer than ten parties, Infobox election is not an effective summary of the results as it does not fit on a single page. It is not a presidential election, so there is no reason to show pictures of the leaders.

Please respect the WP:BRD cycle and start a talkpage discussion to gain consensus for the controversial change you are trying to make. Thanks, Number 57 22:48, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately I see you have tried to force it in again. Please restore the original infobox until a consensus is reached for change. Thanks. Number 57 22:50, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Infobox election contains more information compared to infobox legislative election, including vote numbers and percentage changes, so if there's less than ten parties it's preferable.
Also, even parliamentary elections use Infobox election; if the "no reason to show pictures of the leaders if it's not presidential" rule truly appiled, then surely 2020 Irish general election and 2020 Slovak parliamentary election would have used these wikiboxes:

I agree that it should be used more widely and would support it being used on those articles – it is a far more effective summary and much of the information added by infobox election are not really key details. Infobox legislative election is a trade-off between what can be included and size. Once an infobox becomes more than a screen in height, it loses its usefulness IMO. Number 57 23:23, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think agree is the right word, since I think Infobox legislative election should only be used in cases where there are ten or more parties. Glide08 (talk) 23:42, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, your file Construction_sheet_of_Flag_of_Israel_Equilateral_Magen_David.svg that is included as the technical drawing of the Flag of Israel has a dimension error, the measurement 9.9 should be 11.4. XqGeX (talk) 11:09, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The official dimensions only give the 1.1, figure, not the 9.9 one. There's a reason why I put in Equilateral Magen David - because I went with CRWflags' interpretation that this dimension only makes sense if the Magen David is composed of equilateral triangles. I know the official dimension is broader than 9.9.
If the diameter is 13.2, the length should be 9*1.1*2/√3 ~ 11.43. Another way you can put the dimensions in a sketch of a drawing software and you will see that the dimensions are over-defining the drawing and the value is ~11.4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xqgex (talkcontribs) 08:39, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Leaders of Belarus since 1918[edit]

Hi there, your addition of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to Template:Leaders of Belarus since 1918 is not right. The international community did not accept the results from the presidential election and hence the legitimacy of Lukashenko’s victory. There’s not even a single country in the world whose authorities recognised Tikhanovskaya as winner and new president. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 18:01, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1. Her name is Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Referring to her by the russian form Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is as incorrect as (e.g.) calling the UN Secretary General by the Spanish form Antonio Gutiérrez, or the author of Rossum's Universal Robots by the Polish form Karol Czapek.
2. Resolution XIII-3282 of the Lithuanian Seimas explicitly says:
"1) remti Baltarusijos žmonių išrinktos lyderės Sviatlanos Cichanouskajos ir jos kvietimu sudarytos Koordinacinės tarybos, kaip vienintelių teisėtų baltarusių tautos atstovų, reikalavimą, kad šalyje būtų surengti nauji, skaidrūs ir demokratines procedūras atitinkantys Baltarusijos Respublikos Prezidento ir parlamento rinkimai;"
translated: "1) to support the demand of the Belarusian people's elected leader, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and the Coordination Council she invited, as the only legitimate representatives of the Belarusian people, for new, transparent and democratically-compliant elections for the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus;"
and that same resolution refers to Lukashenka as "neteisėto Baltarusijos vadovo Aliaksandro Lukašenkos" (the illegitimate leader of Belarus, Aliaksandr Lukashenka) later on, so there is no doubt that the Lithuanian Seimas recognized Tsikhanouskaya as the elected President of Belarus even though the title "President" isn't mentioned.
3. In addition, resolution 2020/2779(RSP) of the European Parliament says that the European Parliament "notes that many Belarusians consider Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to be the winner of the presidential elections and Belarus’ president-elect;".
Glide08 (talk) 18:43, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t care what her real name is and how it’s written in English (for some reason, her husband is Sergei Tikhanovsky). A more important thing is that this person has never been a leader of Belarus. The note made by the European Parliament is not an official position by the European Union nor it is by any other country in the world. The international community didn’t accept the results from the election amid multiple concerns regarding the validity of the process. They didn’t make a single claim that she won but Lukashenko falsified the vote count. This is what supporters of the Belarusian opposition did, but that’s completely irrelevant without international recognition. We also don’t know how many Belarusians consider her a winner and if they make up a majority of the population. The Lithuanian resolution you’re referring to nowhere considers her a leader of Belarus.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 20:13, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Hexahectaenneacontakaiheptagon, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 15:23, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do not contest the speedy deletion. In fact, I would have done it myself instead of just blanking it had I had the option. Glide08 (talk) 15:36, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

November 2023[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rural–urban proportional representation. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Joeyconnick (talk) 17:49, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
