WMXQ (93.5 FM, licensed to Hartford City, Indiana) & WMQX (96.7 FM, licensed to Alexandria, Indiana) are simulcasting radio stations broadcasting a Classic rock format. The stations serves the Muncie-Marion area. The stations are currently owned by Backyard Broadcasting Indiana Licensee, LLC.[1] The station carries the nationally syndicated radio program Nights with Alice Cooper

6-10am - MAXimum Music Morning Show with Randy Rankin
10am-3pm - Jaybo and the MAX Midday Show
3-7pm - Rockin' Ride Home with MacKenzie Lee
7pm-mid - Nights with Alice Cooper

The station was assigned the call letters WWWO on 1986-01-16. On 1999-06-16, the station changed its call sign to the current WHTY.[2]
WMQX began in 1979 as WAXT "97 Country" located at a former truck terminal on West State Road 28 in Alexandria and was founded by Bellefontaine, Ohio-based Triplett Broadcasting which fell into bankruptcy in the mid-1980s prompting the sale of the station.
WMXQ (as WWWO with a rock format) began as a construction permit for a Hardford City FM station in the late 1960s but never came on the air initially due the financial difficulties of the former WBMP in Elwood (now WURK) which was to have founded that station, hence it remained dormant (and silent) until 1986.
On July 13, 2009 WHTY and WHTI changed their call letters to WMXQ and WMQX, respectively, to go with their "Max" branding.
