This is an incomplete list of British supercentenarians (people who have attained the age of at least 110 years). There have been over 100 verified supercentenarians from Britain.[1][2] Currently, there are nine verified living supercentenarians (and four currently unverified) in Britain, the oldest of whom is Florrie Baldwin, aged 128. The oldest person ever from the United Kingdom was Charlotte Hughes, who died in 1993 aged 115 years and 228 days.
Living supercentenarians
Below is a list of the oldest living people from the United Kingdom. Those listed as 'verified' have been validated by an international body that specifically deals in longevity research, such as the Gerontology Research Group. Those listed as 'pending' have provided at least 1 document supporting the claimed age but not the 3 necessary for validation. Those that are 'unverified' have provided no documents to the support the age claimed.

Daisy Irene Adams (née Woodward; 30 June 1880 – 8 December 1993) was for about nine months the oldest person in the UK, between 17 March 1993 and her death on 8 December 1993. She was from Church Gresley, Derbyshire. She died at the age of 113 years and 161 days, and outlived her husband and three of her five children. Her husband died at the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Adams was a teetotaler and ate little. Her son Ted put her longevity down to "living a quiet life". [12][13]
Rebecca Hewison
Rebecca Hewison (née Ramsdale; 19 October 1881 – 22 September 1994) was a British supercentenarian and the oldest person living in Britain until her death aged 112 years, 338 days. Born in Grimsby, Hewison was the fourth child of six born to Will, a timber merchant, and Betsy-Ann Ramsdale. She married George Hewison, a stonemason, in Grimsby in 1905. In 1938 she moved to be with her daughter Frances in North London. Later in 1963 the family moved to Berrynarbor in Devon until Hewison was 105 when she returned to her hometown of Grimsby. In 1990 she met the Queen Mother at RAF Scampton. She also was a supporter of Grimsby Town football club and met the team in 1991. Hewison was also taken for flights in aeroplanes and helicopters at Humberside Airport. She had enjoyed music since a young child and attributed her longevity to the occasional glass of lemon and port.[14]
Lucy Jane Askew
Lucy Jane Askew (8 September 1883 – 9 December 1997) was an English supercentenarian and the oldest person in Europe at the time of her death at the age of 114 years and 92 days. Askew was born and died in Loughton, Essex. She was born to William and Susan Askew, prosperous landowners. Lucy had five other siblings, all of whom she outlived, although three of them also lived past 100. Askew never married and was a devout Christian. Askew moved into a nursing home when she was 106 and survived a leg operation at 108. She was in good health until shortly before her death when she died peacefully in her sleep. She attributed her longevity to a modest lifestyle. Askew was the last person documented to have been born in 1883.[15][16][17]

Eunice worked well into her eighties and was still active until about 2006. Her younger sister Annie also celebrated her 100th birthday, but died shortly after in 2005. Bowman attributes her longevity to "no alcohol, no cigarettes and laughter", adding that "I’ve laughed so much I haven’t had time to die".[23]

I love to walk, the staff are always wondering where I’ve got to".[25] When asked her secret to a long life, she credited hard work, avoid beer, and to not swear. See also said that she tries to concentrate on the "happy times".[25]
