AN request from a few weeks ago

You requested that an uninvolved admin close the merge discussion on Talk:Massacres of Albanians in the Balkan Wars. But that discussion started and ended in 2010. There's nothing to close. Did you mean a different article? Or did you misread the dates? Qwyrxian (talk) 15:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Qwyrxian (talk · contribs) I know that this discussion ended in 2010, but it was not closed. I thought that every merge proposal should be closed with result of the discussion determined by uninvolved editor. If I was wrong I apologize.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:27, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, per WP:MERGE, if the consensus is clear, any neutral editor can close it, though if it's particularly controversial, admins can. That being said, given that no one actually acted on the merge proposal for 3 years, I don't think we can rely on that consensus being strong. Here's what I think the best way forward would be: Merge the contents, then redirect the article to the suggested target. If anyone reverts, accept that the merge is disputed, then start a new merge discussion (referring to the prior one) and ask for that one to be closed by an admin. In that case, a clear judgement of consensus for a merge would override individual objections. I'll put the article on my watchlist to monitor. Qwyrxian (talk) 22:16, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Qwyrxian, thanks. I was actually opposed to merging (diff) and I am involved in this dispute within particularly sensitive and controversial topic. Are you sure it is appropriate for me to perform the merger? --Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:05, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry, I didn't check to see who said what. Well, in that case, if you don't think merging is appropriate, go ahead and try removing the merger template, with an edit summary explaining why. Then, if that's reverted, restart the discussion on the talk page. Basically, my opinion is it should either be merged or not tagged as pending a merge, because it's obviously not currently under discussion. I felt there was a slight edge to those who recommended a merge in the 2010 discussion, but it wasn't overwhelming, and it's too old to really hold any precedent anyway. And, perhaps the article's been improved and differentiated from the merge target since then. Making a bold edit is the easiest way to see if there's been any sort of solidifying of consensus either way in the intervening time, so long as you don't edit war if you're reverted. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:45, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice which I took and removed merger templates with explanation.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 09:34, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Warning" issued to two editors (link) was indeed not registered on WP:ARBMAC page. Maybe because "warning" was put under quotation marks. Anyway, I don't think that one warning more or less makes much difference in case of both editors in question.
  • Start from 1:39 (link)--Antidiskriminator (talk) 07:38, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) No, the word "warned" wasn't put under quotation marks but bolded. The first requires actual marks for quotation to be used i.e. "word", the second uses triple apostrophes on both sides of the word i.e. '''word''' (something about this here). So, this was probably an actual warning. --biblbroks (talk) 18:57, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. You are right. Thanks for clarification. I misidentified triple apostrophes with quotation marks (though quotation marks would not make much difference). Anyway, I still don't think that one warning more or less makes much difference in case of both editors in question. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:31, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand now when I look a bit more closely. AFAICT this isn't one warning: the edit offered by the anon on this page mentions some three warnings. So these would constitute three logs for three warnings, right? All in one repetitious edit that was repetitiously removed but containing three logs of three warnings. Am I missing something? --biblbroks (talk) 22:37, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OIC now. Sorry for disturbance and all the best to you. --biblbroks (talk) 22:50, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo Precedent POVfork discussion

Hi, in your undo you referred to a delete decision. However, there is no record of this on the talk page - just lots of people pointing out that the article appears to be a POVfork that should be merged. Can you provide a link to the delete discussion? FOARP (talk) 11:30, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Antidiskriminator. Thanks for all the work you've done recently on Schutzkorps. I've noticed that you are making a draft of an article titled Sarajevo frenzy of hate and would like to ask if you could rename it Sarajevo Pogrom or Sarajevo anti-Serb pogrom strictly out of neutrality reasons. If you think of an even better (or more neutral title) then feel free to suggest it. Thanks, 23 editor (talk) 17:48, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should put the Montenegrin monasteries-task on hold for now; there are far more important things that WPSR should take care of! I have come across numerous stubs and/or duplicate articles that need merging, as well as countless articles with no Cleanup template messages - I think it is time for the members to start using these template messages. I would like to begin a new cooperation with you (and any other interested), this time we should choose any Vital Topic directly related to Serbia or Serbs (which could also be chosen from the Serbian popular pages). What do you think?--Zoupan 11:34, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • It is not Isa, see this image, it is clearly not him, this person is older, and thinner, and there was several Kosovan Serbs or even people from way afar who bore Albanian dress (as a tactical or fashion-wise decision). Thnxs.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 07:56, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hello, I am an anonymous contributor to Wiki. I was declared to be a sock so my edits were removed. It would not be such a big deal, but this time my constructive criticism was removed not from the article, but from the talk page of the article: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AKosovo_War&diff=587497816&oldid=587497406

Anyway, I defended sourced content and I would really appreciate it if you could restore the facts (be it on the talk page or the article itself).

I know you probably hate to be involved in such a thing - the edit-wars, the confrontations with (un)reasonable people etc., but I would really appreciate it. TaaTaa 109.106.234.94 (talk) 15:49, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Even if the sources you used would be available for me to verify them I would still hesitate to do what you asked me because it would be exceptional claim which requires exceptional sources (which sources you used are not). Additionally, the text you added directly contradicts from what I have read about this subject. I have read in more than one source that NATO and UCK did whatever they could to prevent *completely unnecessary) massive participation of Mujaheddin forces in this war to avoid additionally compromising themselves. If I am not wrong, only small insignificant Mujaheddin forces managed to take part in this war so I don't think it is worth mentioning. On the contrary, it should probably be emphasized within separate subsection how much efforts NATO and UCK placed to prevent Mujaheddin participation. This topic is not my main subject of interest so I don't have intention to significantly contribute to it. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 16:17, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ma da budem iskren nisam ni ja to dodao nego sam samo vraćao na staro, nego me nervira kada se obriše bez objašnjenja samo zato što se nekome ne sviđa. (talk page stalker) What kind of defters do you have in mind? There were different defters for different purposes. Are you looking for tahrir defterleri or something else?
However, it may be unrealistic to expect that all defter material for an entire vilayet or eyalet would have been preserved and digitised. bobrayner (talk) 23:22, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!

Hello Antidiskriminator, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! I did not confront you or inhibit your work, insofar as the implication of bad faith - I have clearly stated some problems that you have created, and corrected a fair few as well. I'm not wikistalking you - I simply have a large number of pages on my watchlist, among which article alerts for several WikiProjects that we both frequent. Such is the nature of collaborative editing - people are bound to notice what you do, whether you like it or not. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 20:04, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You don't recall how you accused me of admin misconduct a while ago? In any case, I don't have that much free time so I'd prefer to do something productive rather than search for that diff now. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 20:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My God, do you really think it's useful to be obstinate about this now? And when I do waste the time to find those edits, what productive result can we get from that? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:24, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thankfully, googling is pretty fast - Talk:Noel Malcolm/Archive 2. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:26, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You accused me of repeatedly acting in a problematic manner, and pointed to rules saying how that should be sanctioned. When I told you to go get it done, you didn't actually do anything. That was the empty threat that I was referring to. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:08, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Fiqri Dine may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • that the latter two were in fact not working for the Yugoslavs but for the Albanian Committee (formed by exiled BK and ...}}</ref> Dine fled from Yugoslavia to Greece, where he died in 1960.
