Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (Hindi: जेपी सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान; JIIT), located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India is a Deemed University[2] offering programs in technical education at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Campus
JIIT has been developed as a modern world class campus, with intellectually vibrant ambience in a serene and lush green environment. The state-of-the-art campus at a total project cost of Rs. 114 crores, with a total built up area of over 68340 sq. m comprising smart buildings with Internet, with Wi-Fi connectivity, including environmentally conditioned Academic Block, Annapurna (Mess), well-equipped modern laboratories, Learning Resource Centre, Faculty and student residences provides a pleasant and intellectually stimulating ambience for students in an eco-friendly environment.
Learning Resource Centre
The Learning Resource Center is the name of library of the institute. It has more than 36,000 volumes of books, journals and magazines, 36 news dailies, 500 project reports and 3100 CD-ROMs.
The library is linked with DELNET (Developing Library Network). LRC users can access online journals of IEEE, ACM, Engineering Village and Springer through the consortium, INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Engineering, Science and Technology).
LRC users know the availability status of the books and other materials through the Public Access Catalogue. The LRC has the facility of Wi-Fi for the students.
Laboratories
There are four computer labs, other labs are Biotechnology Lab (800 sq mt), Communication Systems Lab, Control and Instrumentation Lab, Electrical Machines Lab, [[Electronics Devices] and Circuits Lab, institute also have full fledged laboratories in areas of Microelectronics, Signal Processing and Advanced Communication Systems. The M.Tech labs are equipped with facilities like LAN Trainer, CDMA Trainer, Antenna Trainer, and Mobile Communication Trainer.
Annapurna
Annapurna is the name of the college mess which serves all the students along with the faculty. It is a double storey building with ground floor for girls and first floor for boys. Mess has a buffet system. It has a separate cafeteria as well, which operates throughout the day except during mess hours.

Jaypee Business School(JBS) a constituent of JIIT came into existence in 2007. At present JBS offers a two year full time MBA programme.
Academics
JIIT is best known for its undergraduate program that include the Bachelor of Technology program, the Dual Degree Bachelor of Technology-cum-Master of Technology and Bachelor of Technology-cum-Master of Business Administration program. It also offers postgraduate level programs like Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration. Finally it also offers a Ph.D. program. The admission criteria for all these programs are different at the entry level.
Under Graduate Programs
JIIT offers a Bachelor of Technology in four areas that include Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Biotechnology. The 5 years dual degree B.Tech-cum-M.Tech program is offered in Bio Technology and Computer Science and Engineering. JIIT also offers a 5 years dual degree B.Tech-cum-MBA program in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The M.Tech programs offered in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Microelectronic Systems & Embedded Technology,(Computer Science and Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. The admission to these programs is done through AIEEE which is organized by Central Board of Secondary Education.

GILD rates JIIT as 10th all time Best Indian University.[4]
Administration
Jaiprakash Gaur is the founder of the institute. Yajulu Medury is the current Chancellor of the institute. Manoj Gaur was the first Chancellor of the institute. S. C. Saxena is the current Vice-Chancellor (1 July 2011-present). J. P. Gupta was the institutes' founder director and first Vice-Chancellor. Krishna Gopal serving as the current Dean of Academic & Research.
Student life
JIIT provides on-campus residential facilities to its students, research scholars, faculty members and many of its staff. The students have option to stay in hostels or outside of JIIT. Most of the rooms in the hostels are designed to accommodate two student per room. The hostels are provided with a common room with television, table tennis boards, carom boards and other forms of entertainment.

JYC
The JIIT Youth Club, or JYC, is the student body of the JIIT responsible for organizing Intra-college and inter-college events. The annual festival "JIVE", which is completely coordinated by the youth club and supported by the institute is recognized as one of the best inter-collegiate festivals in the National Capital Region(NCR) and Northern India.
Controversies
In the year of 2010, the Government of India decided to derecognize 44 universities including JIIT. The matter still lies in the Supreme Court of India.[5]
