The 2013 World Series will be the 109th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series. The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the champions of the National League and the American League. The Series is tentatively set to begin on Wednesday, October 23, with Game 7 scheduled no later than October 31, barring weather delays.
As has been standard since 2003, the home field advantage for the series will be decided on July 16 at the All-Star Game to be held at Citi Field in Queens, New York. The games will be televised in the USA on Fox. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver will call the series. This will be McCarver's final World Series, as he is set to retire after the 2013 season.
