This file's first revision was deleted because it was listed as fair-use and a small revision would suffice. However, this image should be listed as [[Template:PD-logo]]. Could you restore the larger version and then change around the description page so it's not claiming fair use? Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G5 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Draft: Paint (musical group)

I, Jeepster33, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Jeepster33 (talk) 20:25, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of DirecTV channels

To make a new draf, add sources, update, and possibly fill a gap in "Requested Articles" —Jjjjjjdddddd (talk) 21:39, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • This was deleted at AfD by Drmies in 2012, so you'll need to ask him. I do have to share in concerns from the AfD that the list will be forever at risk of being incorrect due to changes in channels and it could be seen as a bit too much of miscellaneous data (WP:NOTDIR), especially given that we could just easily link to the company's website, where the lineup is already given. I'm not saying that it could never be on here, but you'll have to show where this is of lasting importance to Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:28, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah I'm not feeling it. Drmies (talk) 05:41, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Elaine Mazlish

Not having a page for 'Elaine Mazlish' while we have a page for 'Adele Faber' is like having a page/article for only one of the Winklevoss twins. I understand that the content provided by ME was not in compliance of Wikipedia, but that should be regarded as MY incompetence and not challenge the merits of the article/page as clearly, I had no intentions to make it look like a promotion or a marketing blurb (as the people in question are aged 89 and above and have not requested for the same). —TopCipher 07:10, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

{{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS)}

Smash David

This article was just deleted because of a dispute with other editors a few months ago, but this article should be reconsidered now since Smash David accomplished much more now, with a single he produced for Big Sean, Bounce Back, which his Sean's highest charting single in the US at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and certified Gold by the RIAA, and another single for Khalid, Location, which is at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100, so clearly this article has passed WP:NMUSIC, so it should be undeleted. —Bloomdoom2 (talk) 00:58, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • They're not active on here, so I'm going to ping Jujutacular. I also have to caution you - producing isn't always a guarantee of notability, as a song or album can have a great many producers. Since one of those two songs were already on the article at the prior AfD, you'll really need to give them a lot of good sourcing to justify inclusion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jye Bolton

No reason as to why this page should have been deleted. He is my son who has a number of prestigious awards attributed to him through Australian Rules Football, with many pages redirecting to his page which has no information on it. Please can you restore this page so we can upload information for people being redirected to that page about achievements and his career. Thankyou —203.59.41.37 (talk) 04:08, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The page only said "Is an AFL player", so you are missing nothing. I suggest that you start with Draft:Jye Bolton and provide the newspaper articles etc that give the story. Since you are close to the person it is best if you do not write what you know, but use other people's writings and put in what is true and balanced. Katharine Towne

The page was deleted after fifteen years, citing a lack of relevance, however I feel that the subject has enough relevance to warrant inclusion. She hasthree dozen listed credits on IMDB,[1] many of which are starring or featured roles, all of which are verified, and is still listed in the Top 5000 on the IMDB Starmeter. In addition, the cultural/historical significance of her family bolsters that the page is a valid resource for the entertainment industry.

She is linked/referenced on the following pages:

Julie Payne (mother)[2] Robert Towne (father)[3] Charlie Hunnam (divorced)[4]

She's also linked to many acting credits on Wikipedia.

I tried contacting the admin who deleted the page, but received no response. Thank you for your time and consideration. —Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 21:05, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References

  • We don't count IMDB or Wikipedia as reliable sources, but they can suggest that there would be more information. Can you find some actual web sites, magazines or newspapers that have an article on this person? We need more information than just a one line mention of an acting credit to be substantial. The deleting admin looks not to be very active. But if there are better references available then I would make this a draft for you to work on. Otherwise if everything in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katharine Towne is correct, there are no substantial, independent, reliable sources. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:33, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some additional sources on the subject, interviews, reviews, etc:

Hollywood.com [1] YourTango.com [2] Buffy Wiki [3] Rotten Tomatoes [4] Variety [5] LA Times [6] BuddyTV.com [7] Additional scans of articles about the subject: [8][9][10] Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 23:55, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katharine Towne, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Daniel (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:18, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add that other wikis, directory listings, directory profiles (e.g. Rotten Tomatoes), interviews, and trivial mentions don't count toward notability either. There must be significant coverage of the person (not a few sentences) by multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Additionally she must meet the requirements in WP:NACTOR to be considered for inclusion on Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:22, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Since you didn't bother to read any of the previous things written here, I'll go ahead and summarize:

I tried contacting "Daniel" and he didn't respond. The original editor who replied to my post here said he's been inactive, so let's go ahead and mar that one off the list.

Second, the Notability requirement says "Actors, voice actors, comedians, opinion makers, models, and celebrities: Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions.", however, you don't take into account movie or television credits, via verifiable sources, such as IMDB, which is pretty much the standard reference for film and television credits. What is it you're looking to be proven? That she was in the things IMDB lists? That she has a fan base? She's Top 5000 on IMDB, so clearly there are a fair amount of people interested in her.

I've always been a champion of Wikipedia, but now I understand the complaints I've heard. Chrisfullerton1974 (talk) 04:14, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

IMDb is actually not a reliable source by our standards because it's a wiki, and thus (a) subject to radical change at any point and (b ) lacks professional editorial oversight and factchecking. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:29, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Chrisfullerton1974: Since you didn't fully comprehend my earlier response, I'll summarize: Your early block of sources above (IMDB and Wikipedia) are not acceptable for establishing notability. Your second block of sources are unconvincing, because they consist of trivial mentions, directory listing blurbs, coverage of a show but not the actress, and interviews, none of which constitute significant coverage of the subject. And merely having "credits" in numerous shows doesn't count, we need significant roles. The deleted article contains an unsourced claim that she won an Oscar! If you had a reliable source for that, we could reconsider.
So again,  Not done. You are free to take this to Wikipedia:Deletion review to get a consensus on whether the deletion was improper, or you can start a new article, preferably not in main space but in draft space (if you do it in main space it would be speedily deleted per WP:G4). Nothing is preventing you from creating a new article. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:34, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • On the Oscar, it looks like the article was referring to her father, who won the Oscar. Something to note is that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by being the child of notable people and it's not always inherited by being part of a notable TV series or film - the only time that would give someone notability is if their role is major enough to get noted in coverage of the film/series. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:54, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate G4 deletion. Following a controversial AFD close based on the number and quality of sources, the text was userfied; substantive improvements were made, including the addition of apparently reliable sources, and the text moved back to mainspace. Then it was G4'd at the request of the AFD closer, who has also stated that the article cannot be restored except through DRV (which is also pending). The texts were not substantially identical; whether or not the new sourcing is sufficient is to be determined by standard deletion process, not administrator fiat. —21:52, 21 February 2017 (UTC)The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. (talk)

  • Eva1403, it looks like you requested that this be restored back in April 2016, but made no edits to the page. There was also some concern that the content was far too promotional to be accepted, which is likely due to the fact that the draft heavily relied on content used elsewhere on the Internet. The reason I'm mentioning this is that it might be better for you to just start a whole new article from scratch in your own words, as this might make it less likely to be promotional. Wiki instructions are confusing. The instruction above says to 'click the Save page' button below.' There is a 'Save Changes' button but no 'Save page' button.

Tana Wollen

@Tana Wollen: I have restored the draft. It looks like a reasonably good start to me, although I agree with the reviewer that the references need to be improved to demonstrate notability of the subject. Please read Wikipedia:Golden rule to get an overview of what is expected. My article https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi_Cancion was about a TV program for kids that was a litle bit famous in my country. I´ve seen similar TV programs that have their pages in wikipedia. My article about the band Only Sun was tagged for deletion and I was told I would have the chance to make changes to it. Before I could even start to make changes, it was deleted. Myself and the people who wrote the page did not even get a chance to start making appropriate changes to the article and given the chance would do them. We were in the process of gathering references when the page was deleted. I don't believe the reason it was deleted in the first place was fair and then not being able to even make changes, doesn't seem particularly fair either. —Vicksmithh (talk) 18:57, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article was deleted for the following reason: "Expired PROD, concern was: single-sourced neologism largely sustained through wikipedia itself." However, a Google search for the article title returns several references to peer-reviewed Computer Science journals that use the term. Therefore, it seems that the concern about this article is Template:Refimprove. —CheeseInPosition (talk) 19:42, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am the copyright holder and uploader of this image, but I do not use Wikipedia regularly enough to respond to a 7-day deletion review. Once the image is restored I can add metadata. —PabloZ (talk) 03:45, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done, nothing to do, the page is not deleted. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:08, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting to restore the aforementioned files. It seems like all these files comply with the criteria. Their captions had sufficient information to justify a sample and there were no copyright problems.--Shane Cyrus (talk) 12:12, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This file's first revision was deleted because it was listed as fair-use and a small revision would suffice. However, this image should be listed as Template:PD-logo. Could you restore the larger version and then change around the description page so it's not claiming fair use? 208.95.51.115 (talk) 13:06, 27 February 2017 (UTC) —208.95.51.115 (talk) 13:06, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
