Katherine Clare Timpf (/tɪmf/; born October 29, 1988)[1][2] is an American television personality, reporter and comedian[3][4] living in New York City.[5] Since May 2015, she has played a recurring, on-air role on Fox News Channel's The Greg Gutfeld Show[6] and made frequent guest appearances on various other Fox News shows.[7] Timpf regularly provides political commentary expressing her millennial[8] and libertarian[9] views as they relate to culture, political correctness, feminism, and economic issues.[5] In 2017, Timpf co-hosted The Fox News Specialists alongside Eric Bolling and Eboni Williams.[10]

Early life and education

Timpf is from Detroit, Michigan. She was valedictorian of her high school. She graduated magna cum laude in 2010 from Hillsdale College with a B.A. in English.[11][12]

Career

Timpf has appeared on numerous television and radio programs including America Live with Megyn Kelly, Cavuto,[13] Fox and Friends,[14] On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, Red Eye,[15] Stossel, The Greg Gutfeld Show,[16] The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo.[5][17]

Previously, she worked as a video and print reporter for the Leadership Institute's CampusReform.org in Arlington, Virginia, covering waste, fraud, bias, and abuse on college campuses. In addition, she worked as a digital editor for The Washington Times, as the news anchor for NASA's Third Rock Radio, and as a producer and reporter for Total Traffic Network in Santa Ana, California.[11]

Timpf was a 2012 Robert Novak Journalism Fellowship Program grant awardee through The Fund for American Studies, and completed a project titled, "As California Goes, So Goes the Nation: The Consequences of Following Golden State Policy."[11]

Her work has been featured on news outlets including Rush Limbaugh[18] and the Drudge Report.[19]

Timpf has been a contributor to publications including the Orange County Register, Investor's Business Daily, and The Washington Times, and a featured comedian on the morning drive radio show on Baltimore’s 98 Rock.[11]

Timpf has also performed stand-up comedy at venues throughout the country, including Gotham Comedy Club in New York and The Improv in Los Angeles.[11]

In addition to her contributor role at Fox News, Timpf is a reporter at National Review Online,[4] where she writes columns and satire pieces on topics addressing American government and culture, often using humor, sarcasm and satire. Timpf's writing has been cited by numerous news organizations.[11][20][21][22]

Timpf calls herself a libertarian and believes in limited government, no involvement in economic policy, and allowing social decisions to be made by the individual. According to Timpf, "there is something about me for everyone to hate, but there is also something about me for everyone to agree on." [12] Timpf supports a non-interventionist foreign policy, and came in defense of Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul on his foreign policy views.[23]

In November 2015, Timpf's satirical remarks about the Star Wars fandom on the political comedy show Red Eye w/ Tom Shillue made a month prior led to death threats being made against her.[24][25]

In December 2015, Timpf wrote that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was a “fake feminist" due to Clinton's treatment of the women who accused her husband, Bill Clinton, of various sexual offenses.[26][27][28]

In 2016 and 2017 she contributed to the website Barstool Sports.[29] Among other contributions to Barstool, she hosted a weekly podcast called The Kat Timpf Show, in which she talks to a guest about random subjects, including her personal life.[30]

On May 1, 2017, Timpf became a co-host for Fox News Channel's afternoon show called Fox News Specialists with co-hosts Eric Bolling and Eboni Williams.[31] Fox News Specialists was cancelled on September 8, 2017, after Eric Bolling departed from the network.[32]
