Hello Athaenara, is the restriction on Ranjit Kumar Singh removable? I am requesting as because of this draft at AfC. There may be hints of COI though. --Gpkp [utc] 16:32, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Gpkp: It's one iteration of several advertisements with various titles. I've no reason to remove the restriction, though I won't interfere if some other administrator sees fit to do so. – Athaenara 09:30, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Even draft seems to be of COI, advertising or promotional. I withdraw request. Thank you Athaenara. --Gpkp [utc] 09:42, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Gpkp: You are welcome. – Athaenara 09:45, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Bourne Supremacy

Hi there,

I think your protection of The Bourne Supremacy (film) is unnecessary, and a little over-bearing. A look at the article history shows that you made a change to "babe" on 10th August, which was reverted by an IP editor - albeit without edit summary. You then went against BRD and reverted again by reinserting "babe" over "Pam", which was itself reverted again by El Junglas. You once again reverted, only to have the original version re-instated by another IP editor.

You then protected the page to prevent any IP changes. Whilst I wouldn't go as far as to say this was a bad faith protection, I certainly think you should have engaged on the talk page before protecting the article - three reverts in no way counts as "Persistent disruptive editing" - especially when they were by different editors, and prompted by you in the first place.

So, please lift protection, as I don't think it's warranted, and could be misconstrued as admin abuse - ie protecting a page to get your way. Chaheel Riens (talk) 10:54, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion

in re: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive323#ECP on The Bourne Supremacy (film)

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Chaheel Riens (talk) 11:04, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have closed the AN discussion. You inappropriately used extended confirmed protection to prevent IP editors reverting your inaccurate original research. You need to read the policies on page protection before using those tools again and you need to avoid taking administrative actions when you are involved in a content dispute (barring exceptions like BLP). Fences&Windows 23:34, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Later

The Wikipedia way is not about what's true, it's about what's agreed to be a communally acceptable representation of what's true, whether or not the representation is itself true.

Heard the line again tonight, on USA channel: not "Pam" but "babe". – Athaenara 03:25, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But the "communally acceptable representation" as witnessed on the AN noticeboard and the talk page is clearly that the word is "Pam" - and you're still ignoring the fact that you abused Admin tools in an attempt to force your viewpoint. Chaheel Riens (talk) 07:09, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Matvey Lykov

in re: Matvey Lykov (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), Draft:Matvey Lykov (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Just letting you know - I've undeleted and draftified this, per an off-wiki discussion with the creator. I think it may be salvageable, though it will need some work. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 15:49, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with this move. It was improperly speedy deleted under the G11 rationale. An article that long with good faith attempts at sourcing and fitting the Wikipedia style does NOT deserve a speedy deletion. The G11 criteria is for "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" and that content is not "unambiguous" whatsoever. -- Fuzheado | Talk 17:15, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ser Amantio di Nicolao and Fuzheado: No problem. – Athaenara 00:10, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

in re: User:Nass Bholari (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs); see also User talk:Mehadi.me

A tag has been placed on User:Nass Bholari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Minorax (talk) 12:19, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Minorax: Thanks for letting me know. I created that page with a {{Sockpuppet}} warning on August 12. It was later deleted after the user used it to reproduce material which currently exists at Draft:N. A. Seraj Shekshor. I have restored the original sockpuppet warning and the associated category. – Athaenara 19:00, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you recently deleted the following draft, can you send me an email of the source of it for reference? Thanks. User:Spacegeek31/Spacegeek31:Drafts/Samantha Potter(Artist) Spacegeek31 (talk) 12:50, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Spacegeek31: It would not be appropriate to do so. The page was pure spam (see WP:SPAM, if you like, for a refresher on what that means) with no independent reliable sources at all. It could not serve as the basis of an encyclopedia article, hence it would be entirely inappropriate to generate copies. – Athaenara 07:30, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Athaenara: That is understandable, and I get why you wouldn't want to do that, however, I wouldn't be using it on Wikipedia, I would be using it on my own platform that I am making. Spacegeek31 (talk) 13:25, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Signature Art

Hello, I have been looking at your great Signature Art Galleries and would like to borrow complex ideas from some of those creative people. But the "Signature" section at my Preferences page only allows 255 characters of HTML code; the signature you see below almost maxes me out at 232 characters. However, some of the most artistic signatures have much more than 255, and the famous SonicChao has more than 500. Do you know how those artists do this? I see nothing about exceeding the 255 at Wikipedia:Signatures or in related guidelines. Thanks for your time. ––DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 01:38, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Doomsdayer520: My galleries are just art installations. I've never been involved in signature policies or guidelines, past or present, and I don't have the technical expertise to find ways to shoehorn 500+ character signature markup into something less than 255. I'm not saying nobody should try, I'm just saying I don't have that. – Athaenara 09:48, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adaku Utah

in re: User:2dmaxo/Adaku Utah (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) Draft:Adaku Utah (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), Adaku Utah (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Deletion of Adaku Utah draft page

Hello Athaenara. The creation of User:2dmaxo/Adaku Utah is in line with the competition call to create biographical articles for some selected persons (selection not made by my person) by editors outside the USA I entered for. It is called September BLT Writing Contest and would end by September 30. By your administrative action (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion), the article page was still under creation and undergoing edits and your decision may hamper my efforts to stand a chance to win the competition as I had created Sam Nhlengethwa already and working on the User:2dmaxo/Adaku Utah draft page. Kindly advise next steps. Regards! 2dmaxo (talk) 21:35, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Athaenara. Still on the section (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion) of the criteria for speedy deletion tag on User:2dmaxo/Adaku Utah, I have stated reason on article talk page as directed. However, article is ready and I intend to move it to the main userspace, kindly advise if it okay to proceed. Many thanks. 2dmaxo (talk) 07:26, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@2dmaxo: It looks like WP:SPAM to me that, as such, should not be in Wikipedia article space (my opinion, you may wish to seek others). Your "BLT writing contest" link didn't connect to anything I could read, so I don't know what it would have contributed to this discussion. – Athaenara 09:26, 18 September 2020 (UTC) (Later duckduckgo'd "BLT writing contest" and found Wikipedia:Meetup/Black Lunch Table/September2020-BLT Contest.) 10:00, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Athaenara: Glad you finally got through with the BLT link. However, Celestina007 had done a wonderful job in cleaning up the article to be fit for main article space, while BrownHairedGirl had tagged it with user sandbox. Thanks! 2dmaxo (talk) 11:10, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request for revision and revoke the deletion of the company page 'Razorpay'

Hi

The page 'Razorpay' was deleted on 22 July 2019 due to (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: tagged "this article is an ad written by the company to increae their reputation as a part of social marketing")

I would like to revise the content of this page to remove any promotional content and get this back up that will be useful for people who want to access this information.

Kindly make the old page viewable to me so that I can make the revisions and request you to review it again and check for adherence of all guidelines. Other than, that if there's anything else you'd like me to add or structure needed to make the page better - do let me know.

Looking forward to bettering the community.

Speedy Deletion of START-PROF page

in re: START-PROF (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Please undelete the START-PROF page. It doesn't violate any rules. It is translation based on this page: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/START-PROF All independent sources proving the significance of START-PROF was added to Russian language page. It can be added into English page too if needed. Please note that the same page ROHR2 was not deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROHR2 Please explain the difference between ROHR2 and START-PROF pages from wikipedia rules point of view Alex1343653 (talk) 13:25, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Alex1343653: That page you wrote was mostly a lengthy series of descriptions of functions such as one might reasonably expect to find on the product's own website, not in an encyclopedia article. I agree with the {{db-g11}} tag which 1292simon added at 25 September 2020, at 07:58 (UTC). – Athaenara 01:09, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You have deleted my article - Rafael Mikhailovich Minasbekyan. The article was removed for advertising purposes. I unsubscribed to the discussion page of this article with argumentation, but you deleted this article without discussion. Could you restore the article and put it up for discussion for deletion. I believe that the advertising style can be removed, because the importance of the article is observed. Thanks. Namerst (talk) 08:37, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Namerst: It reads like a paid publicity piece or a résumé, not an encyclopedia article, and it's not your first contribution of that sort to Wikipedia. I don't undelete such pages. – Athaenara 13:47, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please Sir

Sir, The title Sir Emiway Bantai is protected by administrators. So I made a draft titled Emiway Bantai (rapper). But later I came to know that this title is also protected. I request you to review the Draft:Emiway Bantai (rapper) and publish its correct title in Emiway Bantai. 223.189.188.244 (talk) 06:30, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Athaenara isn't a Sir, and who are you? I don't need to know exactly who you are, but I need to know whether you are somebody connected to the subject, Emiway Bantai, or somebody hired to write this article. Jehochman Talk 21:08, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The draft seems good enough to establish notability. I see that the subject has 11m YouTube followers and has been covered by multiple independent sources. I will wait for Athaenara to comment before taking any other actions. Jehochman Talk 21:17, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jehochman I did not know that he is not sir. I'm sorry. I made the draft just as a fan of them and I have nothing to do with that person. And if I tell myself, I am not a lifetime on Wikipedia. Just use it sometimes. So I did not create an account. I hope you understand. 223.238.137.134 (talk) 00:38, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Message from Athaenara

Athaenara is reading her talk page messages but, under the recent site-wide strictures (see https://en.wikipedia.org/sec-warning), not editing or logging in until OS updates or a replacement computer enable it. She is taking advantage of this initially unwelcome respite and treating it as a brief sabbatical. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.89.241.52 (talk) 14:00, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotect the title

Hello, Emiway Bantai has been protected by you and has become a Draft: Emiway Bantai (rapper) draft by this name, which is worth publishing. But the draft article title is also protected by administrators. I spoke to other administrators on this subject, but because of being protected by you, they ask for your permission. So, please unprotect Emiway Bantai so that the article can be published. Thank you TechToker (talk) 04:51, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
