The 2024 French Open is an upcoming Grand Slam tennis tournament to be played on outdoor clay courts. It will be held at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from 20 May to 9 June 2024, comprising singles, doubles and mixed doubles play. Junior and wheelchair tournaments are also scheduled.
Novak Djokovic will be the defending champion. He will be contending for a record extended 25th Grand Slam.[1] Iga Świątek is the defending champion in the women's singles.
It will be the 129th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of 2024. The main singles draws will include 16 qualifiers for men and 16 for women out of 128 players in each draw.
Tournament
The 2024 French Open will be the 128th edition of the French Open and will be held at Stade Roland Garros in Paris.
The tournament will be run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and will be part of the 2024 ATP Tour and the 2024 WTA Tour calendars under the Grand Slam category. The tournament consisted of both men's and women's singles and doubles draws.[2]
There will be a singles and doubles events for both boys and girls (players under 18), which will be part of the Grade A category of tournaments,[3] and singles and doubles events for men's and women's wheelchair tennis players under the Grand Slam category.[4] The tournament will be played on clay courts and will take place over a series of 23 courts, including the three main showcourts, Court Philippe Chatrier, Court Suzanne Lenglen and Court Simonne Mathieu.[2][5]
