Today's story is about the TFA, by sadly missed Vami_IV. In my support in 2018, I hoped to do justice to Schloss Köthen next - which I will begin today, finally, promised. Its Bachsaal was pictured to begin this year year. For more related thoughts and music, look on my talk for 1 June. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:24, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
Enjoy today's story, related to my topic of the year: 300 years Bach's chorale cantatas, and the first was written for today, - listen to the music, beginning with a French overture for a chorale fantasy. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:39, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
Franz Kafka died 100 years ago OTD, hence the story. I uploaded a few pics from the visit of Graham87. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:43, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- My grandmother did some professional translations (German → Serbian) of Kafka. Thank you for letting me know about his 100 year anniversary. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:17, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- I am impressed! - On the occasion of your 17 years, Graham is turning a barrel-organ, - I uploaded a particularly happy pic, with the consent of his mother. I can also offer a brandnew GA, about a woman, - the one that was supposed to be deleted ;) - I took a pic of a black cat, but don't like it enough. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:19, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- From first edit to Good Article in less than a month -- impressive! --Rosiestep (talk) 14:25, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- Well, that was an act of defiance. First I called for help, then several added facts, and that made it comprehensive ;) - New pics of spectacular weather. Another interesting person: Alexander Lang. Wish we knew about the four important women in his life, not just Katja Paryla and Annette Reber. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:20, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- Defiance? Seems pretty collaborative to me. ;)
- Lot of interlanguage links in Alexander's article, including Katja and Annette. Plenty of fodder for our polyglot friends. --Rosiestep (talk) 10:07, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- It was collaborative defiance against that deletion suggestion. Few of my articles were really deleted. - Today's story is about a tune used by Bach and Mozart. Call it defiance again, - compare the Gustav Mahler discussion. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:08, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

- Ok; got it. Few of mine, too. Beautiful stage set for that 1815 production. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:13, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- Please help me remember which 1815? - Today I wanted to write a happy song story, on a friend's birthday, but instead we have the word of thunder on top of it, which would have been better on 2 June, this year's first Sunday after Trinity. The new lilypond - thanks to DanCherek - is quite impressive. As my 2 Jun story said: Bach was fired up. - Today's Main page is rich in music, also Franz Liszt and a conductor. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:28, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Added here. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:39, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Got it, - yes, quite iconic. I think it was pictured in our music reader when I was little. - You may have seen a related sculpture in my pics, in the Schinkel church. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:47, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Today's story is about a performance I watched in 2012 and made a DYK hook in 2017, and my prediction that we met a great singer was right ;) - if you have more time to read, there's a new GA, Cecelia Hall, and the de:Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine on the German Hauptseite, - both topics were stories before. + new pics --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:03, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Nice story about Cecelia from North Carolina, and that's a great photo of Andreas. I've been enjoying beautiful weather here. Definitely signs of summer being around the corner. Looking forward to more grandma time this weekend. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:55, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Added here. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:39, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! Today is "the day" for James Joyce, also for Bach's fourth chorale cantata (and why does it come before the third?) - the new pics have a mammal I had to look up. I took a "cat" pic on 13 June, but it was a sculptured cat on a rooftop, - the moon above it, however, was real. I guess I won't upload it, but look forward to extremely wonderful food. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

- Ok; got it. Few of mine, too. Beautiful stage set for that 1815 production. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:13, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- ... and here you go: new pics of food and flowers come with the story of Noye's Fludde (premiered on 18 June), written by Brian Boulton. I nominated Éric Tappy because he died, and it needs support today! I nominated another women for GA in the Women in Green June run, - review welcome, and more noms planned. - Imagine the cat in front of that moon ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:53, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- I frequently change the background image on my laptop, and today, it's your "Cornflowers in field, Malbach valley, Ehrenbach", though "Daisies and a dandelion, Idstein" was a close contender. "Indian appetizers, Idstein" looks yummy! --Rosiestep (talk) 14:19, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I saw the daisies with dandelion after the 9 June service, it wasn't in focus, tried again on the way back, the dandelion was wilted and something wrong with the "Belichtung", - but then finally ;) - Today we have a centenarian story (documentation about it by Percy Adlon) and an article that had two sentences yesterday and was up for deletion, and needs a few more citations. - Took a cat pic, will come one of these days ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:22, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Cat pic came, but I found no time to announce. - Today is a feast day for which Bach composed a chorale cantata in 1724 (and we had a DYK about it in 2012). Can't believe that Jodie Devos had to die, - don't miss her video from the Opéra-Comique at the end, - story to come. The weekend brought plenty of music sung and listened to, and some of it is reflected in the last two stories! + pics of good food with good company - enjoy your time away. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:14, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- The image in my DYK story is what I happened to see from my seat in a performance before the festival (with Anna Netrebko in the title role but sold out of course, and the other was possibly the icier Principessa anyway). I recommend the trailer video, with various scenes to the end of the music that Puccini was able to finish before he died in 1924. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:52, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- the sad story today --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:55, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

Lady Baltimore
Sad to report, an article you helped me with a long time ago has had a sad ending. Lady Baltimore (eagle). She was euthanized last February, and her death is just now being reported. Incidentally, a photo I took of here roughly 9 years ago and placed in her Wikipedia article has been used, with photo credit, on this article:[1] Juneau Mike (talk) 06:15, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, Mike, what a sad ending for that eagle. Thank you for letting me know. I remember working on that article with you. Lovely that the photo you took was used by the newspaper, with appropriate credit. So happy to hear from you, Mike; hope you are well. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:39, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

Request for Article Review
I hope this message finds you well. I have recently noticed your diligent work in reviewing pages on Wikipedia and would like to kindly request if you could review my article "Cherry on Top" and "Biniverse: The First Solo Concert"
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Acrom12 (talk) 17:49, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your kind words, Acrom12, and for reaching out to me. However, I don't review present-day songs and concerts as I don't feel I have expertise in this area of Wikipedia. Sorry about that, but maybe one of my pagestalkers will take a look. --Rosiestep (talk) 18:05, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

The story is today about the first published composition by Arnold Schönberg which I was blessed to hear. Listen, and perhaps read what Alma Mahler (to-be-Mahler at the time, to be precise, who was present at the first performance) said, and yes that was too much for the Main page ;) -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:29, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
Today's story is about a Bach cantata premiered 300 years ago OTD. - A meeting of two women - the occasion of the cantata - is pictured in our local church. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:43, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
3 July is the birthday of Leoš Janáček, and I'm happy I had a meaningful DYK in 2021 which was about a woman ;) - It's also the birthday of Franz Kafka, and I uploaded pics from his family's album seen in Berlin. Proud to have had 2 women in green in June, and the third nom is in progress. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:43, 3 July 2024 (UTC)
Libuše Domanínská, the subject of yesterday's story, would have turned 100 today, but I missed that ;) - Overnight, Tamara Milashkina became GA and Lando Bartolini went to the Main page. I made my story about his almost unbelievable career, from Luigi in Il tabarro in Philadelphia in 1968 (with a nod to Liberty) up to Calaf in Turandot in Beijing in 1999 ;) - 4 July is also the birthday of Brian Boulton who was a pioneer of a concise infobox in 2013. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:20, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
Today's story is about an outstanding violinist from Georgia, which is a sad story in the end. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the links, Gerda Arendt. Plenty for me to check out after I'm back home on Tuesday. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:27, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- I remember today Bach's 1724 cantata for this Sunday which is unusual in many respects. Another woman needs attention for RD, Marina Kondratyeva. Great cat today! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:56, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

Hey Rosie, hope all is well. I've just finished an article on Elizabeth Harriet Davies, aka Happy Ned. It was fun to write, lots of research to sort it out, but I think in the end I have told her fascinating/tragic story fairly well. I have never had to give an entire poem in an article and so it seemed to me that it needed to be attributed as incorporating an entire text, rather than quoting a sentence. I went to your article from the Pan-American Conference of Women and copied what you did there. I don't know who wrote the articles in the Hampshire Telegraph & Sussex Chronicle or Ally Sloper's Half Holiday, but I looked up the editors of both. Apparently the author= parameter cannot be changed for editor=, so I used author, but added (ed) after the names. Would you look at how I attributed the poems and tell me if I did it correctly? - SusunW, always enjoy hearing from you. Today is our last day in Paris; homeward bound tomorrow. I read Happy Ned's biography and I checked out the attribution. IMHO, it is correct. Hope all is well in your world. I assume it's pretty hot this time of year? --Rosiestep (talk) 15:27, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, I appreciate the help. I love, love, love Paris. Yes, hot and rainy here. Hurricane season looks to be a bad one, but so far we've escaped any significant damage. SusunW (talk) 15:29, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
