You have been awarded the M.A.G.I.C. (Meredith, Alex, George, Izzie, Cristina) barnstar, in recognition of your wonderful Grey's Anatomy work, including the promotion of "Going, Going, Gone" to A-Class status. TBrandley 05:09, 1 November 2012 (UTC) |

Hi Joey, I was just wondering if when you get a chance you could review Sharon Newman for GA. I don't mean to rush you because I know you're busy, but I was just wondering. Creativity97 21:17, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Sharon's GA
Hi Joey, I understand that you're busy elsewhere, but we are very anxious to get Sharon Newman to GA. I really don't mean to rush you (and apologize if I'm giving off that vibe) but if you won't have the time to get to it, would you mind if I asked somebody else who could get to it sooner? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks! Creativity97 22:36, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I personally think you should have asked for more than one reviewer for this article. The article is rather long, and detailed! If you do not mind, as soap articles are my speciality, if I could have a look? Not as the reviewer, just a sort of editor, but this could lead to TRLIJC19 having less to review, if he knows he has got my word on it that its an GA? Im off now, but if you jut a put a talkback on my talk, I try and have a look tommorow? — M.Mario (T/C) 22:46, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- C97, reviewers actually have 10 days before they have to review an article after signing up for it, so please understand that I have another day to begin the review. MM, if you could review the first half, I'll gladly take the second. TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 00:46, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry. I didn't know that. I was just anxious to have the review started. I'll keep that in mind for the future. And MM, I was actually considering asking you if you'd be interested and you found it on your own! What a coincidence, LOL. Creativity97 01:50, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Canadian Air Dates.
Do you think that American shows should have Canadian Air Dates? Waterbird continues to add the dates back into the episode tables, even though some have tried to tell him that it's an american show, and should only show the american air date. Tvlover96 (talk) 00:06, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ugh. As I've told you, and shown you many examples in other articles, if an episode of a show airs in a country before that of it's origin, the 'early' airdate is notable because it was the first time the episode actually aired, and then has the origin's country airdate alongside it when/if such a date exists. It is an established president on Wikipedia, so I don't understand why you are resisting it - especially when the article you're resisting in has dates that are eight days prior to the US broadcast which is a significant gap in time.
- - Wattlebird (talk) 00:16, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- The fact that it was broadcast in Canada first does make it the official "original airdate", so it's a close call. TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 01:05, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

A-Class
Hi! I was just wondering if there was a policy against supporting an A-Class like process, and then promoting it. I saw featured list director, Giants2008, saying "I won't declare a position so that I can close the FLRC if need be". Not so sure myself. I don't really see a problem, just wondering. TBrandley 20:20, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's different for ACR, because it's not as large a process. I have supported a nomination and then approved it before. TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 23:25, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- I agree, I did once see a director support and promote at FLC even. Thanks, TBrandley 23:35, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

- Yeah, KD is the rock of the show and Sally makes it funny; without the two of them as regulars I wonder how it's going to be... But the announcement really isn't a big surprise; everyone could see it coming after CJ's absence in the last episodes and Roxy's departure. Gloria, Denise, and Joan are nice but not my favorite characters and Jackie is barely watchable haha. I guess I'll keep watching though since it probably will be the final season with 13 episodes only. --Sofffie7 (talk) 19:01, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Edit war over color
Your recent editing history at Once Upon a Time (season 2) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Please discuss to arrive on a color that works. There is no policy that the DVD cover art governs table colors. --Drmargi (talk) 03:08, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

I saw that you gave "Home" a good combing over for its FAR. If you have any time and feel inclined, could you look over "The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati"? I want to make sure the prose is up to snuff. Thanks!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 04:37, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

- Don't worry about the article, take your time. As for Television Without Pity, I've been using it for cultural references in The Office articles. Do you think that's appropriate? I guess it makes sense that it isn't super notable, but for something like that, I assume it would be OK to use.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 05:34, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Joey! I've been planning on taking Penticton Regional Airport to featured article status, and would appreciate some feedback or concerns on it that would prevent featured article promotion. I have been working on this, rather than the usual "television" episode, as I'm looking for something new, and I am near that airport where I currently live, so I can get some pictures of it here for Wikipedia. There is a peer review for the article currently open, as the article just passed as a good article. Anyways, thanks very much for any feedback you may give and I hope you are well. Hi Joey! I was wondering if you are going to nominate "Going, Going, Gone" for featured article again soon, as it appears it has been a few months since its airing now. Also, for the WP:SGH project, I was considering creating "drives" to get articles up to good and featured article statuses, and award barnstars at the end of a specific drive, with its run for a period of 30 days. It could perhaps be in the summer months, when users and less busy, or not. Any thoughts? TBrandley 23:46, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, Tate! I actually worked on "GGG" a bit today, but I think I'll wait until next September to nominate, to see if anything about it is on the season nine DVD. I like the idea of a drive, and I'd love to help set one up eventually. I do think that it would have to be in the summer, though, because I don't think any active members of WP:SGH have the time right now. I was just saying to Sophie how I miss the days where I could write dozens of good articles a month! I haven't had a good article since early October. I am getting some time off for Christmas soon, so I'd like to possibly rack up a few good articles or a featured article during that time. TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 00:48, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2013 WikiCup!
Hello TRLIJC19, and welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! Your submissions' page is here. The competition begins at midnight UTC. The first round will last until the end of February, at which point the top 64 scorers will advance to the second round. We will be in touch at the end of every month, and signups are going to remain open until the end of January; if you know of anyone else who may like to take part, please let them know! A few reminders: *The rules can be found here. There have been a few changes from last year, which are listed on that page. *Anything you submit must have been nominated and promoted in 2013, and you need to have completed significant work upon it in 2013. (The articles you review at good article reviews does not need to have been nominated in 2013, but you do need to have started the review in 2013.) We will be checking. *If you feel that another competitor is breaking the rules or abusing the competition in some way, please let a judge know. Please do not remove entries from the submissions' pages of others yourself. *Don't worry about calculating precisely how many points everything is worth. The bot will do that. The bot may occasionally get something wrong- let a judge know, or post on the WikiCup talk page if that happens. *Please try to be prompt in updating submissions' pages so that they can be double-checked. Overall, however, don't worry, and have fun. It doesn't matter if you make the odd mistake; these things happen. Questions can be asked on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! Hey!
Hi Joey! How are you doing? How's med school?
What were your impressions about last week's episode? Here are mine :) I have mixed feelings about Owen and Cristina. They were struggling and I got tired with them and suddenly because they signed divorce papers, everything's fine again while they haven't changed. Yes, they love each other but they want different things in life. Also, the Alex-Izzie 2.0 storyline is annoying. They've now become buddies and the writers expect us to be surprised when they will become an item... LOL! Their relationship feels forced. I liked they remembered Sloan, but what about Lexie? Callie only mentioned her saying she's dead. Wow -_- However, I loved how Meredith told everyone she's pregnant :D
Oh and this is maybe old news, but I've just read that some of the new interns have an "option" to become regulars in S10! I don't understand why Shonda doesn't want to focus on her main cast (there are already too many people) and) keep the others as recurring. What are your thoughts about the interns now that several episodes have aired?
Remember when you said in December that you'd send a newsletter at the end of the month for what happened since September (new members, new recognized content etc)? You obviously have forgotten so are you still planning on sending one? If you don't want to or think it's a bad idea, it's ok by me, but I'd like to know :) I haven't performed my duties recently but I'll get back to that this week. I'm afraid I'll have to send several users an inactivity notification... :S
By the way, happy new year... It's never too late ;) --Sofffie7 (talk) 19:39, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 January newsletter
Signups are now closed; we have our final 127 contestants for this year's competition. 64 contestants will make it to the next round at the end of February, but we're already seeing strong scoring compared to previous years. Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) currently leads, with 358 points. At this stage in 2012, the leader ( Grapple X (submissions)) had 342 points, while in 2011, the leader had 228 points. We also have a large number of scorers when compared with this stage in previous years. 12george1 (submissions) was the first competitor to score this year, as he was last year, with a detailed good article review. Some other firsts:
- 12george1 (submissions) was also the first to score for an article, with the good article Hurricane Gordon (2000). Again, this is a repeat of last year!
- Buggie111 (submissions) was the first to score for a did you know, with Marquis Flowers.
- Spencer (submissions) was the first to score for an in the news, with 2013 Houphouët-Boigny stampede.
- Status (submissions) was the first to score for a featured list, with list of Billboard Social 50 number-one artists.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was the first to score for a featured picture, with File:Thure de Thulstrup - L. Prang and Co. - Battle of Gettysburg - Restoration by Adam Cuerden.jpg.
Featured articles, portals and topics, as well as good topics, are yet to feature in the competition.
This year, the bonus points system has been reworked, with bonus points on offer for old articles prepared for did you know, and "multiplier" points reworked to become more linear. For details, please see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. There have been some teething problems as the bot has worked its way around the new system, but issues should mostly be ironed out- please report any problems to the WikiCup talk page. Here are some participants worthy of note with regards to the bonus points:
- Ed! (submissions) was the first to score bonus points, with Portland-class cruiser, a good article.
- Hawkeye7 (submissions) has the highest overall bonus points, as well as the highest scoring article, thanks to his work on Enrico Fermi, now a good article. The biography of such a significant figure to the history of science warrants nearly five times the normal score.
- HueSatLum (submissions) claimed bonus points for René Vautier and Nicolas de Fer, articles that did not exist on the English Wikipedia at the start of the year; a first for the WikiCup. The articles were eligible for bonus points because of fact they were both covered on a number of other Wikipedias.
Also, a quick mention of The C of E (submissions), who may well have already written the oddest article of the WikiCup this year: did you know that the Fucking mayor objected to Fucking Hell on the grounds that there was no Fucking brewery? The gauntlet has been thrown down; can anyone beat it?
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiCup 2013 February newsletter
Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.
Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:
- Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
- Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
- Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.
Other contributors of note include:
- Sven Manguard (submissions), whose Portal:Massachusetts is the first featured portal this year. The featured portal process is one of the less well-known featured processes, and featured portals have traditionally had little impact on WikiCup scores.
- Sasata (submissions), whose Mycena aurantiomarginata was the first featured article this year.
- Muboshgu (submissions) and Wizardman (submissions), who both claimed points for articles in the Major League Baseball tie-breakers topic, the first topic points in the competition.
- Toa Nidhiki05 (submissions), who claimed for the first full good topic with the Casting Crowns studio albums topic.
Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...
March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!
A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. You're back!
Hi Joey! Long time, no talk! I hope you are well and have adjusted nicely back into Wikipedia. I realize we haven't spoken in a very long time, and wanted to see how you were. I haven't done any work on any Grey's articles in so long, so I haven't spoken to anyone from the project! I'm focusing on just The Young and the Restless articles now; I got one of them to GA in February. Anyway, enough about me, how are you doing? Preparing to tackle any new projects on WP? Creativity97 21:19, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Creativity97! It's nice to hear from you and I'm glad to be back on Wikipedia. The time that I was gone went by so fast, and I feel like it was just yesterday when we were pushing George O'Malley to GA! Congratulations on your recent GA; it's a great achievement. I'm doing good, but due to medical school, I don't think I'll be able to return to editing full time until summer. I will, however, be able to pop in every now and then to do a little editing for the next few months. This summer, I'd like to finish the Grey's Anatomy character good topic, something we are very close to accomplishing. I think if all of the project members tackle a character article or two, we'll be good to go! What have you thought of Grey's this season? I think it's been boring and uneventful, sort of like seasons 4 and 7. Hope to hear back from you soon! TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 02:56, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
