  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (1627/1630-1680) – spent part of his childhood here in the 1630s and 40s.
  • Jijabai (1598-1674) – wife of Shahajiraje Bhosale Jagirdar of Pune, Shahajiraje; mother of Shivaji Maharaj who raised him during 1640s in Pune.
  • Peshwa Bajirao- was a minister in the court of Chhtrapati Shahu of Satara, responsible for shifting the administrative capital to Pune

Yogesh's mother Smt. Ranjana Pundalik Tilekar is also a very spiritual social person , she had worked for the welfare of females and families in society all her life , currently also she is a Municipal Councillor in Pune Municipal Corporation. MLA Yogesh Tilekar is very well known for his work initiatives in the field of infrastructure development of various fly overs ,Highways and Road Networks , Metro rail network to Hadapsar, Magarpatta & Fursungi IT park. Very much appreciated for resolving three decade problem of sayyed nagar railway crossing , there were various previous failed delivered promises by previous leaders for this same problem from past three decades , but in this term considering and connecting to the problems of his own citizens, the young MLA of constituency Yogesh Tilekar took a different initiative ,he built Entire covered Subway Pass for Vehicles. Citizens of Pune also see Young Mla planting a lot of tress with them and taking commitment that they will take responsibilities of plant.
