Hello , I am here to focus your attention on one article , which have little problem.

Hope you can correct it. The article is Ghodasgaon , someone linked this article to a Marathi language article घोडसगाव (Eng : Ghodasgaon. Both village's name are same but first one is present at Dhule district and second one at Jalgaon district. But the Marathi article I created was for Ghodasgaon village of Jalgaon district , in Muktainagar taluka. I live in Ghodasgaon village , I created ita article yesterday that is draft : Ghodasgaon ( Taluka - Muktainagar).I suggest you to add Ghodasgaon (Taluka - Muktainagar) article to Marathi Wikipedia's घोडसगाव article. Because map in Marathi Wikipedia's Ghodasgon is showing location of Ghodasgon present in Dhule district. Creating confusion Dhayade (talk) 21:42, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, I don't know if this is the right way to do this, but on the Alexander Pope article it seems to suggest that he might have been gay - otherwise the quote seems irrelevant. The quote really is a sharp witticism about Pope, having left a life of frivolity, not being happy since he met Blount. Gay did not mean homosexual in the eighteenth century.

Hi could you please help create this article

Hello Material I need some help with this article of mine https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Avalite_civilisation/kingdom and I’ve left it to be published for weeks but still no one will check it or even return it so could you please check it out and tell me if there are errors 😊 thanks. Change removed from LimeSurvey article

Hi Materialscientist,

I'm new as an editor so maybe I didn't do it properly. The thing is, that the change I added to the article is linked to sources already cited in the article. Sources in question are: -the official website, -the website where were hosted the open sources documents (in SourceForge).

There is no new sources. It's only an update about the nature of the project which has changed. I was willing to highlight this change since for some users it may be important. Indeed the project was Open Source and Free, and this isn't the case anymore.

Let me know if I need to change anything in order to have this small edit accepted.

Brand Activism

Hi Materialscientist, I deleted the line on the Brand Activism page that says: "Unlike the CSR, brand activism is not corporate self-regulation[15] but corporate philanthropy. CSR is an internal organizational policy, brand activism is the mission of the company." This is wrong. Brand Activism is not corporate philanthropy - nor is it the mission of the company. In their book on Brand Activism, [Philip Kotler] and Christian Sarkar insist that "Brand activism is different because it is driven by a fundamental concern for the biggest and most urgent problems facing society." See: http://www.activistbrands.com/what-is-brand-activism/

Thanks!

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Vellore Institute of Technology, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 09:21, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I was requested by the school to add that as I am a student at that school.

I recently updated content on my own David Gulasi Wikipedia page, and it states that I am a supporter of the Chinese communist party with my videos, but this is false because I am an entertainer and am a KOL/influencer, that information is incorrect and is tainting my public image. I am happy to prive my Identity somehow. Please let me know how to proceed David gulasi kol@davegulasi.com

1-Butanol

There is a troublesome issue with 1-butanol. All my recent edits have been reverted, even after lengthy discussions on the talk page. This is not a consensus issue. It concerns the use of the naming conventions for chemical compounds. I wish to delete from the info box the "other names" that are (i) obsolete, (ii) not in common use, or (iii) do not conform to either IUPAC or WP rules for the naming of organic compounds. The only valid "other names" are n-Butanol and n-Butyl alcohol. Please can you help to end this "edit war" Petergans (talk) 14:40, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Block of User:Jiheeye ade

Jiheeye ade (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Somalia is a battleground, so blocking an editor who adds unsourced content doesn't bother me, I can understand zero tolerance for this subject. I just wanted to note you blocked them for "Persistent addition of unsourced content". I'm not sure about the "persistent" part: EN-Jungwon added one warning per minute to their talk page, and the first warning was issued over half an hour after the last edit from Jiheeye ade, so they never had a chance to respond. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 16:49, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The block merely aimed at stopping mass addition of unsourced and unexplained numbers - some were twice off; if they make a reasonable appeal, I would certainly unblock. Materialscientist (talk) 16:57, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So what sources should I give you? Please tell me how can I give you the sources? If you tell me how can I give you sources, then I will provide you sources. Salts aqueous solutions data page(s)

Hi, Materialscientist! I have noticed your addition to water (data page) from early 2011 re density data for NaCl solutions. Therefore I ask whether you know data sources for other salts solutions, like KCl and other salts, perhaps even for sugar, fructose, glucose, to add to the mentioned page? Thanks!--82.137.9.119 (talk) 20:39, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Most certainly I used CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. I have its 97th edition (2016) at hand, but I can't find those data there right away. Perhaps earlier editions have data for NaCl and other solutions. Materialscientist (talk) 09:44, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

One of my students, Aroub Jamal, added, then removed, then re-added a section at Leptin receptor. You reverted it with the comment "unexplained content removal," but it was actually a solid addition. Possible Edit Ban Evasion

Hello there, Materialscientist. I came across some vandalism on the article Dishonesty, reverted it, and found that similar vandalistic edits had been made previously, resulting in an edit ban issued by you (or at least you put it on the user's talk page). Well, seems they're at it again, from a different address. Checking the WHOIS results, both addresses link to nearby towns, so I don't think it's all a coincidence. Why do you keep deleting my great uncle from notable people from the articlr? Denisjackowski (talk) 18:16, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Denisjackowsi: Fails WP: NOTABILITY. Basically, we don't care(or, the readers don't care)about your great uncle. --HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 19:30, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) @Denisjackowski: If your great uncle is this Air Force Major General, he MIGHT qualify for a stand-alone article under the WP:MILPEOPLE essay, which augments Wikipedia:Notability (people). However, you will need to find several sources that are independent and reliable that have significant coverage of him. This means sources NOT from within the military or sources that predominantly cover the military. "Significant coverage" means more than just a mention, a short paragraph, or "routine" coverage. If you can find these sources, THEN read Help:Your first article very carefully and submit a draft through the WP:Articles for creation process. Be sure to write with a neutral point of view, keeping in mind that "shorter is better" for someone who is not out-and-out famous. If it's longer than half the size of the web site I linked, it's probably too long. Don't violate copyright laws. This means avoiding WP:Close paraphrasing. Since he's your great uncle, please read and follow the directions in WP:Conflict of interest. Before you start, I recommend reading WP:OWN and WP:What Wikipedia is not. In particular, it is NOT a place for "memorial pages" or similar. Focus only on those things in his life that were reported on by sources outside the government that don't routinely report on such things, or on things that were widely reported such as (presumably) his posting as "commander of the 12th Air Division, SAC" (quoting from the web site above) and "commandant of the National War College" (same source).
IF you cannot find reliable, independent sources that cover him in some level of depth ("significant coverage") then he cannot have an article, and he should not be listed in the Flushing, Ohio page.
By the way, a good name for the draft page would be Draft:James S. Murphy since James Murphy is taken but James S. Murphy is available. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:52, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake

You reverted my changes to Hurley High School erroneously. I grew up in the Hurley area and graduated from there in 1989. The school was built and opened in 1968 to replace the older high school built in 1948. The old high school became D.A. Justus Elementary at that time, which was destroyed in the 2002 flood. The high school's mascot is the Hurley Rebels and the original colors were black and gold before changing to grey, blue, and red in 1968. You're not going to find any of this first-hand information in a book or a webpage since the school is very remote and little has been written on it in the way of "official" history. Reverting so please leave my edits alone. Xenophon71 (talk) 06:16, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Range block question

Hi, Material. You recently blocked 96.19.248.104 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) for six months. I happened to notice 96.19.248.74 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) making a disruptive edit here. Surely the same person. I thought of blocking some appropriate range for six months, but my understanding of ranges is pretty superficial. Those two IPs both fit into the tiny range 96.19.248.64/26, so do you think I should block that? Or probably something a bit bigger? Bishonen | tålk 15:32, 5 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

1) I am not sure this is the same person. 2) I usually don't consider rangeblocks in such cases (one edit from second IP) - it would be guesswork, and the chances for collateral are significant. 3) In this case WHOIS says the range is 96.19.248.0/24. Grudge edit/vandalism issue

Hi, I noticed you previously reverted an unexplained removal of content by anonymous user 188.71.233.26 on the page "Women in Kuwait", for which I thank you. He later tried to remove the same content and made the page untidy for reasons that sounded nothing other than grudge, but I have reverted those edits. Yesterday another anonymous user (37.39.140.226) edited/vandalised the page in a suspiciously similar way as the previous anonymous user, using similar language when providing reasons, again citing some unexplained "propaganda". I have again reverted the edits, but it seems the two users may be the same person using different IPs and I would be grateful if you could do something to prevent further vandalism/grudge edits, by blocking the anonymous user/s or in any way you see fit. Thanks and apologies if I misused some technical terms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jao1Jao1Jao1 (talkcontribs)

Follow up. Thank you for protecting the page against unlogged users. However, now the previous anonymous user repeated his disruptive edits as a logged in user (Foalselec). I have again reverted the vandalism but it is likely the same user will do it again, so I would be grateful if you could do something about it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jao1Jao1Jao1 (talkcontribs)

IP vandalism/registration

I see all the work you do to reverse IP vandalism. Bravo. IPs were mostly helpful in the early years, when Wikipedia needed all the help it could get to fill in totally missing subjects. This is probably heretical, but now that we have covered most obvious topics, isn't it time to require registration? In my experience, IPs now take up so much of our time reverting vandalism, COI material, edit warriors and rookie errors, that they are a net minus, by far. Add Cast Credit to Rocketry: The Nambi Effect

Hello User:Materialscientist.

I am Abudhar Al Hassan and I saw your message regarding my addition of cast credit to Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. I must confess I am new to this and I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I have acted in this film and hence when I saw the page I thought of adding my name in the Cast section. The citation was already listed at the bottom of the page, as an external link to Rocketry's IMDB page where you would find my name as well in the cast section. I thought it wouldn't be necessary to add a new citation.

Also, there are other movies like Force 2 and Ribbon (film) etc. in which I have acted. I was wondering if I could add myself to cast credits of these movie pages or perhaps you could help me with the same.

I recently learned about red links and have red linked my name in the Rocketry: The Nambi Effect page. Please tell me if this is the right approach or not and whether I can red link my name in other wikipedia movie pages (the ones in which I have worked).

Thanks. --27.106.24.168 (talk) 08:37, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism/Edit warring

Hello, Consider having a look at the article Kadir Misiroglu and the actions of user Aybeg. He's not cooperating with other users and is constantly deleting content with plenty of reliable sources without providing reasons. Here is the diff: [4]. Thank you, 176.55.95.51 (talk) 10:17, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If Mısıroğlu is called a "historian", it is like calling David Irving a "historian". Both of these people have written works with the perspectives given by their extremist ideologies, but neither of them are historians. Mısıroğlu has been a mockery in the Turkish media for his unscientific, superstitious statements at his conferences. He is not taken seriously in academia. As written in the article, "his works came under criticism by historian İlber Ortaylı for lacking scientific approach, knowledge and distorting the facts." In modern times, the professionals who have graduated from the history department of a college can be called historians. Otherwise, we should call every authors, journalists, or amateur researchers who have written books on history a "historian": Murat Bardakçı, Ergün Poyraz, Niyazi Berkes, Erdoğan Aydın, Murat Belge, İlhan Arsel, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, Nihal Atsız, Celâl Şengör, etc... The reason for the insistence of the user who changes with the IP address 176.55.95.51 and different IP addresses is ideological. Due to he is an Islamist, he tries to give him prestige portraying him as a "historian". For ideological reasons, Islamists impose this guy on people. He is not described as a historian on the Turkish Wikipedia. See this talk page. - Aybeg (talk) 08:40, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bully on the loose - admin doing nothing?

Hi. Sorry, what does "rmv unactionable reports" actually mean? I honestly don't know. In plain day-to-day language: If smb reverts twice a massive edit w/o having anything against it, nor any clue about the subject, but only in order to "take revenge" - that's not smth a WP admin can address in some useful way? The anonymous bully didn't even try to pretend that he knows what he's doing. Pls help me understand. He also clearly shows no basic knowledge of WP, English (but edits on English WP), editing logic or basic courtesy. Thank you, Arminden (talk) 15:49, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In short, edit warring is not for WP:AIV. Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 15:52, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but
  • a) it's NOT edit warring: he never tried to pretend that he cares about what he's undoing, he used revert as a tool for "taking revenge" for a wrongly perceived "offense" based on an edit in an unrelated article. "Revenge editing" is OK on WP?
  • b) If it fits better at a different panel, pls be so nice and advise me which. Thank you! Arminden (talk) 16:00, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Revenge reverts can well be reported to AIV, but two reverts in total on one article doesn't qualify as such (yet). At this stage WP:ANI could be the right venue, but I would simply wait for the case to become clearer. Materialscientist (talk) 16:08, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Materialscientist re: 'R Xmas

Hello Materialscientist and thanks for your recent message to me and edit regarding the article on the film 'R Xmas'. I hope this is the correct format to reply to you as I am new to this and my apologies in advance for not knowing exactly how to reply to your message, in addition to adding factual information without correctly citing the source. By source, I refer to www.imdb.me/AntonePagan which is the link to the Internet Movie Data Base which lists Antone Pagán as a principal actor in this professional union film as 'Swap Shop Owner'. I'd like to list this credit appropriately with the source on the 'R Xmas Wikipedia page and hope that you may be of some assist. Other actors with lesser roles in the film are included on the page so it should be possible. Thanks in advance for your support. SILENTWARRIOR

Disruptive IP's are back

I contacted you 3 months ago in regards to these IP's 66.219.246.234, and 2601:681:0:2F70:0:0:0:0/64 making disruptive edits on Pokémon related articles. You had blocked both accounts, but now their blocks have expired. Can you please block them again for disruptive editing and addition of unsourced content? I have given each account level 2 warnings for disruptive editing but I doubt that will stop them from continuing. I will also mention that these accounts are also related to 69.169.182.50, which makes the exact same edits as the other accounts. – Yowashi (talk) 19:31, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Daisy Coleman

Unfortunately the work as a tatoo artist was the tool to herself-inflict pain and to disfigure her body and the demon tattooed under his neck is the testimony that evil corrupted his life, his soul. Her mother has committed suicide overwhelmed by the loss of her husband and children and guilt for not saving Daisy from the evil that had afflicted and consumed her. You know perfectly well that it is the truth and I can support it with even certain sources. But I'm not going to do destructive editing.

Hello! For some reason, all my edits to the page Shauna Barbosa are being deleted. I am fairly new to the Wikipedia community and there are several mistakes on that page. for instance, her list of poems is chronologically incorrect and incomplete, some facts are incomplete, others are untrue and the reference articles do not support what is written on the page. I would greatly appreciate if you either helped me edit the page or left my editing be and only checked the facts, I am not interested in spreading lies or editing fake information. Thank you for your time and effort.

It is currently not the case on History of Iran, mostly BC and AD are used, but some BCE and CE are present. I opted for the more general BCE-CE system, as the page is not about Christianity.

Please carefully re-evaluate my edits to Lithium Polymer Batteries

The article misleads people by incorrectly attributing the proposed benefits of the new technology being researched to existing products which offer no such benefits.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_battery

As I and have stated in the talk for the page, the original article was of exceedingly low quality. I took care to retain relevant, high quality contributions while organising it into meaningful sections. I removed only poor quality, outdated material, and material that is not related to the topic of the article (even if it may have been relevant to lithium ion batteries more generally). The current introduction in particular to this article is not just uninformative, but approaches misinformation since it conflates the popular, commercial usage of the term "lithium polymer" with the esoteric meaning of the term as applied in the research field.

If you could spend a few minutes to study the article (in its current form) I hope these shortcomings will become evident to you too.

Stating that all Twelver Shia figures were Sunni scholars with a single reference

Hello, I am quite new to editing on wikipedia so I don't really know much on how to get this problem sorted and I do not want to start an edit war. However, this user https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:CalligrapherAR appears to be going onto every page about an Imam in Twelver Shia Islam and editing that they're a "Sunni Scholar" purely based on a single reference for every single Imam that argued that they must be Sunni as they were in some form related to revered figures in Sunni Islam. I don't have any references of my own so all I had done was revert the pages back to before they were edited by this user as they had a neutral stance on the figures from either view points from each denominations, whilst with the edit it was apparent the editor was trying to gain a favourable look towards his denomination. I will paste his arguments for the edit and I think it would be best for you to decide on this outcome.

Common sense? Imam Musa al-Kadhim (ra) was 100% Sunni Muslim, Just think how the name of a daughter of Shia would be "Aisha bint Musa"? the Shia view of Aisha (ra) is unfavorable. CalligrapherAR (talk) 18:13, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

He was not a Shia His wife, Umm Farwah bint al-Qasim (ra), was a Sunni, and her father Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr (ra) was a devout Sunni Muslim scholar. Just think why he would marry a Sunni woman and even when she is the direct descendant of Abu Bakr (ra), The Shi'is hate Abu Bakr (ra) at all time. and The female descendants of Muhammad al-Baqir (ra) were also named Aisha, the Shiites have a complete hatred of Aisha (ra). CalligrapherAR (talk) 18:25, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

This was his only source to make all of those changes which was biased to one denomination: https://sayyidahmedridhabinosman.medium.com/12-twelver-imams-were-sunni-muslims-8551fff1135e

If you're unable to help to help and will simply ignore me than all I'll do is just keep reverting it with a single reference as that person has done if it seems seeking out help is the wrong thing to do.

Most of the exterior links were removed recently, which is a shame, some were important. I had edited some, and left important ones recently, but all were removed.

This page is actually a mess. It’s full of irrelevant VR text, 4 links to a minor muVi festival (can you remove at least 3), and missing the most important texts in the field. Yet minor, barely relevant texts remain.

This page is now near useless and really needs work. have no idea what this is below, not related.
