Hiya thanks for your additions on Hilda Gregg - it is tricky with names, I just made a page for Kitty Lee Jenner and she had LOADS of names! I kinda wanted to make the page Katharine Jenner (and in fact I did make a wikicommons category under that name yesterday) but then her commemorative plaque and ODNB both say Kitty Lee Jenner so I went for that in the end. Anyhow, i was just adding the page to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Meetup/150 and i noticed the edit you made about Olive Morris getting almost 300,000 views because of the googledoodle, that's amazing!! Unfortunately the edit introduced an unknown parameter which was stopping the entries displaying, so I had to remove it but it was great to hear about. I've resurfaced. @wikiwomeninred went quiet a few weeks ago. It was one task too much a couple of weeks ago and I'd excepted a personal challenge to write an article a day, EVERYDAY, for 100 days, so Twitter had to go quiet, sorry (cont)
So today is number #100. I've made it. I've written about lots of different women. Quite a few Nigerian actors and yesterday (#99) was about Beau Nash's mistress who decided to give up being a "good girl" and then lived in a tree.
So article #100. Who should I choose for this article? Got to be notable. Got to have sources. ... but GOT to get it written. Have no time to decide. Why not just choose a Julia for July?
Julia Huxley will have to do. She is just about notable as she started a girl's school and she has impressive relatives. She died young but she will have to do. It was quite easy to find stuff on her... so the article is OKish
Wait a minute. I need some pictures. The first one I find is her as a child taken by Lewis Carroll. Amazing! I love this guy and his Alice book and the interesting maths he did. I have spent years studying his work.
Oh there is more! Lewis Carroll designed a word game for Julia Huxley and her sister when he was at THEIR Christmas Party. Not only that but the game was published, it has a Wiki article and I've played it! Getting better!
Bit more. A picture of her with her son. My favourite books are "Alice in Wonderland" and a book called "Island" about a Utopia imagined by Aldous Huxley. That is Julia's son! in the picture! Getting even better!
So when she died suddenly in her forties, her school children were there, her family was there.. and she passed a last letter to Aldous. He carried that letter with him for the REST of his life. Scholars say that he never got over his mother's death. Sad but interesting!
The funeral was held at an Amazing arts and crafts chapel that was built by a community in a wiki way with different people doing different bits. Julia, her husband and Aldous were buried there. I love arts and crafts.
So scholars say that Aldous has haunted by the death of his mother and it was a central theme to the dystopia of "Brave New World" AND to my favourite - the Utopian "Island". This really is getting very good.
So my 100th article contains arts and crafts, maths games, Lewis Carroll and Aldous Huxley and a nice quote. Julia said to Aldous in her last letter to him that he should,

- Maybe I'll do the Did You Know at the end of the week. Right now, there's enough to do now that I've got the list, and most of it contains red links. I appreciate the additions, because the Suriname articles are like Swiss cheese. I had been thinking about Diana, but that was a long term plan. You actually scored two ministers (Krishna Mathoera will become Minister of Defense), so it is possible. Could you tell me if you have a conflict of interest with Anna Wilding? The reason I ask is that many of your edits regarding Wilding are uncharacteristic for someone with a long history of high-quality work on Wikipedia such as yourself. For example:
- reverting edits that removed false and/or unverified information. [1]
- twice protecting the page with extended confirmed status [2] [3] despite there not being no persistent vandalism. This went against the Protection policy as the article had not been semi-protected beforehand, and you were involved.
- accusing a new editor of disruptive editing without pointing to anything specific. [4] Unfortunately this editor has not returned to Wikipedia.
- Voting WP:SNOW on the 2nd deletion discussion. [5] This was an odd response for a subject with borderline notability, in an article that was created as a salting evasion. You must have known that as the only admin in the discussion your words would carry more weight.
- Telling me that adding "citation needed" was "in several places clearly wrong". [6] I'm still waiting to hear which ones were incorrect. I'm sure you've been around long enough to realise that someone claiming to have directed Rolling Stones music videos should provide some evidence for their claim. -- haminoon (talk) 02:06, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
- No, look at the edits where I have deleted unsupported text. I have had twitter chats with Anna when she asked for support from Women in Red. I think you will find that I have added "citation required" as well. My concern that piling on templates may feed an illusion (I hope) that Wikipedia editor(s) is/are vindictively targeting someone. Someone had added a counterproductive (IMO) number of templates which I deleted and then I noticed lots of "citation required" which I didn't delete, but I did ask you to review as some of them were added where there was a reference. Writing biographies for British people
Hi. When writing biographies for British people please use the dmy date format, per MOS:DATETIES. Also, the United Kingdom is a nation, not a nationality. The nationality of people from the UK is British. Finally, when stating that someone is British in the lead this should not be linked as it is common knowledge what the United Kingdom is and therefore falls under WP:OVERLINK. - Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately I use a tool called PREPBIO from our labs that has it own style and it takes its stuff from Wikidata which also has its own style. The suggestions you make, may be better, but they all involve extra work and my focus is in creating the articles as per the prime directive. I have no objection to all these items being changed to a style that you prefer. Where possible I will see what I can do, but if this really concerns someone then the tool needs to be modified (e.g. to recognise the special case of a British person) (not a trivial task) or singular styles need to be agreed with wikidata etc. Thanks for your messages and thank you for the work you contribute to Wikipedia. - Victuallers, sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the Christmas message and for your thanks. I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. Were you able to flag up a suggestion or a request for someone to alter the tool for the circumstance of articles for British people? As I noticed this problem is still going on, such as on pages like Gertrude Horton, which I'm currently fixing. However, I'm only one person and going and fixing every article with these issues because of this tool will be extremely difficult and a huge mountain to climb. It would make it much easier if this tool could be fixed so the problem doesn't persist into the future, creating more work to fix. - It's a long time since I did some programming but I'm loath to suggest it to someone else, particularly a mate, as it involves a lot of (yucky) programming. There are 100s of wikis and each of them may have different ideas about how to write a date.... and some will decide that they want cooks to be called chefs or other style issues. It could be a full time job to just keep up with the changes. It would be a yucky bit of programming with no apparent improvement made to the wiki (IMO). As a Brit operating with lots of others who speak English it seems odd that we can't just agree how to write a date or even allow the user to choose.... (humans love complexity). At one time we had all dates on wiki held in a template that could have allowed a user defined display. Sad that we did away with this. I am trying to modify the dates when I see them, but as I said its not my priority. If you want to contact the programmer then its Magnus Manske, but he is a very busy (and helpful!) guy. There is a system for making suggestions on wikilabs. Magnus created media wiki. He's one of my favourite Wikipedians. Victuallers (talk) 23:05, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Schofield was a frequent houseguest at Redfield's farm, upstream from New Hope, Pennsylvania, and the two would go out painting together, competing to capture the better view. Redfield served on the jury for the 1904 Annual Exhibition of the Carnegie Institute; at which, despite Redfield's opposition, Across the River was awarded the Gold Medal and $1,500 prize. It was not until a 1963 interview that the 93-year-old Redfield revealed the painting as the cause of the 40-year feud between them. Schofield may have painted it in England, but a blindsided Redfield knew that it was a view of the Delaware River, from his own front yard! |

Hi. A couple of points: (1) Please take a look at Wikipedia:Writing about women, in particular the requirement that where possible we use surnames rather than first names. I went through the article and made changes but then lost them as a result of an edit conflict when you were uploading photographs, so I will leave it to you. (2) at present the article does not seem to establish any real notability. The contents are more about her family and social life than her role as a feminist. Thanks. Do feel free to add the stuff that you think is important - I was just reflecting what is in the major sources of her life and links to other biographies which was my priority. Sorry you lost your edits - I switched to a Chromebook a year ago and v.rarely lose anything as the browser will usually go backwards - even after being logged out, a power failure, and failing to save my draft. - Trying to! I started Nov 2019 but I missed some days until 22:3:2020 so its number 296 as a run of one women every day. Should be ~300 on the day that is Wikipedia's 20th birthday. Regarding Draft:Souhardya_De
Dear sir, I'm writing to you for your attention on a valid AFC draft Draft:Souhardya_De which had been declined without proper reasons, almost 20 days ago. It was created by User:Nikita_Manzi and I have also edited it a bit, referencing it notably as per User:Anachronist's instructions. The subject is the recipient of the highest Indian civilian honour for minors Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar and there are sufficient references and inline citations from the Ministry, the Prime Minister's secratariat as well as from various notable national Indian media. I don't understand why the reviewer turned it down (reasons: for not being able to verify the information stated) but various editors have called it 'notable'. Since you have been involved in the creation of pages on Indian national awardees (an example being Uttara Padwar), would you mind taking a look at it and if it is good to go, maybe direct the draft to the mainspace article. If however, it still needs improvement sir, could you let me know because I have had no response from the editor when I asked her to re-review it. thanks Rohan9082 (talk) 06:41, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Rohan9082

- @Rohan9082: Looking it over again, I see many citations to sources that give the subject only a brief mention or a single short paragraph, but not in-depth coverage. This was also the case when the draft was rejected. The "significant coverage" requirement doesn't mean short coverage among a large number of sources, but rather in-depth coverage among multiple sources. I suggest looking through the sentences that have multiple citations and removing the citations that don't add value but merely corroborate the other sources cited for the same sentence. One thing reviewers absolutely don't like to see is a large number of insignificant citations; this is a sign that the draft was written to convey an appearance of notability rather than actual notability. Two or three reliable sources that provide deep coverage of the subject is a much stronger argument for notability than 20 sources giving only a brief mention. ~Anachronist (talk) 17:00, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Rohan9082:If I was working on this then I would look at the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar article and compare it to Nari Shakti Puraskar (NSP) article. .... I would think that if the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar article was expanded as per NSP then it would include a list of winners ... and Mr De would be in that list. If the other members looked notable then Mr De would be a step closer. 17:10, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

I did a little research and found out some notable names who are already on Wikipedia, including Shivangi_Pathak, Zaira_Wasim, Palak_Muchhal, Akash_Manoj, but there are more and I do not have an exact knowledge. I just gave you this list but once, the article of Draft:Souhardya_De is up and the notable awardees section gets created, we can hunt the others as well, hence completing the list. Should I create the notable section and put these already existing names there or should that be done after the Draft:Souhardya_De is up as an article? Please let me know. - As I say I would use the NSP page as a model and just maybe add the winners for one or two years where you have one or two notable winners. The NSP page was once nearly all red links, but others turned to work on them. HTH Victuallers (talk) 10:09, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
