The 2015 Indonesia Super League (also known as the QNB League for sponsorship reasons)[1] season was the 7th season of the Indonesia Super League (ISL), a fully professional football competition as the top tier of the football league pyramid in Indonesia.

The champion of this season will qualify for the 2016 AFC Champions League Qualifying play-off Round 2.[2] The season was planned to be started in February 2015.[3] It was first officially announced that the 2015 Indonesia Super League will start on February 1, 2015, with verification process for the participants done in December 2014 but because of the reduction to participants to 18 teams, it is planned to start either on February 21 or 22.[4][5]

The season will have some changes including the implementation of three different kick-off time for weekend matches, which are 15:30, 19:00 and 21:00. There will be also only two weekday matches scheduled.[6]

After Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Imam Nahrawi, postponed the start of the season because of legal verifications reasons, on February 23, 2015, it was agreed that this season will start on April 4, 2015.[7] The revised schedule is planned to end on November 23, 2015.[8] This season was officially discontinued by PSSI on May 2, 2015 due to a ban by Imam Nahrawi, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, against PSSI to run any football competition.[9]

Teams

Indonesia Super League was followed by 18 clubs consisting of 17 Super League teams and Pusamania Borneo.[10] This season format returned to one single group format, abandoning the two region format from 2014.[11]

Persib Bandung are the defending champions, having won their first league title in 2014. Persiba Bantul, Persijap Jepara, Persita Tangerang and Madura United were relegated during the 2014 Indonesia Super League. Pusamania Borneo were the team promoted, as champion of the 2014 Liga Indonesia Premier Division.[12] Pusamania was making their debut in Indonesia's top flight division. [citation needed]

On January 12, 2015, Persiwa Wamena and Persik Kediri was disqualified from participating in this season because failing to comply with the financial and infrastructure requirements during the verification phase that was performed from December 2014.[10]
