The 39th International Emmy Awards took place on November 21, 2011, at the Hilton Hotel in New York City, United States and hosted by Canadian actor Jason Priestley.[1]
Ceremony
20 countries competed at the International Emmy Awards in 2011, a record number, they are: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the Philippines and the United Kingdom, indicated by 800 media professionals from 67 different countries. From Brazil, TV Globo led the nominations for the award, as it did in the last edition.[2]
Veteran British producer Nigel Lythgoe, Co-creator and Executive Producer of American Idol, was selected by the Academy to receive the 2011 International Emmy Founders Award, handed over by the singer Lady Gaga.[3] Subhash Chandra, Chairman of Chairman Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the International Emmy Directorate Award.[4]
