Adhiratha was the foster father of Karna and the charioteer of Bhishma. He was also leader of all Sutas and royal charioteers. But as per Srimad Bhagavatam, Adhiratha descended from Yayati and therefore was related to Krishna. He was also the descendant of Rompad,[1] the king of Angdesh and brother-in-law of Maharaja Dashratha's descendant Shighra, king of Ayodhya. His wife's name was Radha (Mahābhārata). They both had a son named Shon after Karna's adoption, who became his younger foster brother. Karna as his son was also called as Sutaputra karna". They real son Shon was killed by Abhimanyu on the 13th day.
