Salman Khan appointed as a host 4th time in series

Bigg Boss 7 (tagline: Jannat Ka Wow Aur Jahannam Ka Aaw Dekhege Saath Saath) is the seventh season of the Indian reality TV series Bigg Boss[1] which aired on TV channel Colors TV from 15 September 2013, with Salman Khan returning as the host for the fourth time and this season is longer than its predecessor, Bigg Boss 6 and lasted for 15 weeks (104 days) concluding on Saturday, 28 December 2013. The seventh season was launched with the tagline- 'Jannat Ka Wow Aur Jahannam Ka Aaw Dekhege Saath Saath'. The show started airing at 9:00 everyday from 15 September.[2][3]

The series was won by Indian model and actress Gauhar Khan on 28 December 2013.[4] While Tanisha Mukherjee was runner-up, Ajaz Khan remained 3rd and Sangram Singh remained 4th.[5]

Finalist, Ajaz Khan returned as a guest in the eighth edition of the show to later compete in Bigg Boss Halla Bol. He was ejected from the house on Day 2.

House themes

The contestants were initially divided into two separate sections of the house, one called "Heaven" and the other "Hell." The "Heaven" side of the house included the pool and considerably more luxuries, while residents of the "Hell" side lacked running water and a kitchen of their own. Inmates in "Hell" were forced to rely on the housemates in the "Heaven" side for food and to use a tap outdoors for water. This was revealed to the housemates on launch night, and entrants Tanisha and Andy were tasked with dividing them into households.[6]

As long as the division lasted, inmates were not permitted to cross the boundaries or, except for food, share items between the two sides. On the 31st day, the "Hell" facility was demolished and all remaining contestants moved to "Heaven."

Bigg Boss Warden

The Bigg Boss Warden was a new feature for season seven. She monitored inmates and kept them on time. She also worked as the assistant of Bigg Boss and used to monitor each and every contestant that they don't break any rule.[7]

  1. ^ All the house specifications were given by the first two entrants (Tanisha & Andy) as per the order of Bigg Boss, and the decision for allotment of Tanisha and Andy was opposite to the second last entrants to their allotment, according to Bigg Boss orders.
  2. ^ Bigg Boss asked the heaven housemates to choose from among them a housemate who is, according to them, ineligible to live on the heaven side. The housemate with the maximum votes is made to swap places with a decided housemate from the hell side inmates. Gauhar, receiving the majority votes, was made to switch sides with Armaan.
  3. ^ Housemates decided by mutual consensus the names of the two housemates, from both sides, they would like to move. Hell housemates chose Gauhar and Kushal and heaven housemates Andy and Sangram.
  4. ^ Bigg Boss asked housemates from both sides to decide by mutual consensus the name of one best and worst performer from their side. All inmates except the worst performer, from hell, and the best performer, from heaven, were made to switch sides. All housemates except Shilpa and Elli switched sides.
  5. ^ Bigg Boss asked Kamya, being the house captain and immune from house-side switch, to name one housemate from heaven who had the greatest contribution in the luxury budget task. Simultaneously Armaan was to name two hell housemates who contributed the least in the task. Kamya chose Andy and Armaan himself and Kushal. All housemates except the names ones were to swap sides. However during the swap ceremony Bigg Boss asked each switching hell housemate to swap positions with one heaven inmate. Pratyusha, after not being chosen by any hell-mate was spared the switch. Later, using the wishing wall, Kamya, Pratyusha and Tanisha wished for Armaan to be transferred to heaven. Bigg Boss fulfilling the wish asked these three to name one housemate to swap Armaan with. They chose Andy.
  6. ^ All hell mates were shifted to the heaven side as the hell was completely destroyed. Bigg Boss also announced that the heaven side was the "Bigg Boss House" now.
  7. ^ Two new contestants (Ajaz & Candy) entered the Bigg Boss Caravan.[67]
  8. ^ Ajaz and Candy were first shifted to the Main House. Later, Andy was moved to the Bigg Boss Caravan as he was earlier selected by the captain (Kushal) for discussing and plotting nominations (12, 13) which was a violation of Bigg Boss rule. New contestant Sofia also entered the Caravan.

Vote to move

Working with the new concept of "Heaven" and "Hell", Heaven housemates were on occasion asked to vote for a housemate who should swap places with a housemate in Hell. After the second week, such switches were no longer according to vote but instead decided by the outcome of the luxury budget task.

(Day 16) 		In the "Scientists and Guinea pigs" task, the Hell housemates are "infected" by a fictional viral outbreak which the Heaven housemates must try to help solve. Bigg Boss presented contestants with various "cures"; the Heaven was forced to nominate members of Hell to experience the cures. If the residents Hell submitted to them, they received the point; if they did not, Heaven would. Failed Passed

(Day 23) 		The task for this week was named 'Amdani,Atthani,Kharcha,Rupiya' (Income,Penny,Expenditure,Rupee).Hell housemates had to print Bigg Boss bills to buy any item (food) they needed from the Heaven side,and heaven-mates could sell them on any price they wished.The task lasted two days and whichever side had more money than the other at the end would be declared winner.The heaven-mates were also provided with a lock safe where they had to put all the money. Armaan had to provide Bigg Boss a 100 bills secretly as he had failed to complete a punishment the previous day. Gauhar and Asif were also given a secret task to steal the money from the safe but they failed as heaven-mates stored the money in another place.As a punishment from Bigg Boss,heaven side's money was reduced drastically.The hell side ended up winning by a huge margin and as a result, had stalls set up on their side where they could buy anything with the money they had gathered. 5 15 October 2013
(Day 30) 		This week's luxury budget task was titled 'Shaitan aur Farishtey' (Devils & Angels),where the hell-mates portrayed devils and the heaven-mates angels. Bigg Boss had placed a total of 5 Golden Badges on the heaven side and the hell-mates had to try and replace them with their Dark Badges.Only two hell-mates could try once and captain Gauhar was given the responsibility to overlook the task and make sure it went according to the rules.The hell-mates ended up replacing all Golden badges on the first day and hence won. Bigg Boss later announced that the task wasn't over yet,as the hell-mates had captured heaven side,the heaven side could only use their side with permissions from them. Bigg Boss also arranged a court in the house later where each member could accuse another from opposite side had they felt something went unfair. The next day saw the elimination of Hell side and as there were limited beds on the Heaven side,Bigg Boss allowed hell-mates to sleep on them as a reward for their win. Bigg Boss rewarded a total of 2500 luxury points and only the winning team could come up with the list, but they failed to do so within the allowed time period and hence ended up losing all the points. Notes

  • ^Note 1 : Only the housemates living on the Heaven side had the right to nominate. However they could only nominate housemates living on the Hell side.
  • ^Note 2 : The captain was given a special power to nominate one heaven housemate which will place them directly up for eviction.
  • ^Note 3 : In a twist to nominations housemates were told to nominate two housemates they would like to save from eviction.
