Chinese people in Ireland refer to people born in China or people of Chinese descent living in the Republic of Ireland. They constitute 0.4% of Ireland's population, at 17,832 residents.[1]
Demographics
According to a 2004 article by The Guardian, there were 65,000 legal Chinese workers in Ireland, with half of them residing in Dublin. 4,000 of them lived within a half-mile radius of Dublin's Smithfield area.[2]
Tourism
In 2015, 40,000 Chinese people visited Ireland, an increase of 10% from 2014.[3]
