Eupleres major is a rare mongoose-like mammal endemic to Madagascar and classified in the carnivoran family Eupleridae.

Eupleres major, recognized only in 2010, is in the genus Eupleres.[2]

People found it in humid rainforest and marshes in northwest Madagascar and also reported it from the dry deciduous forest in the west.
