Jeedimetla is a suburb of Hyderabad, India, located north west of the city and into the precincts of what is called as the twin city of the later, Secunderabad.

Jeedimetla Industrial Area, as the name suggests, is popular for its industries. The downtown features a number of small and large industrial units including some of the India card-carrying ones. The industrial area is divided into small localities featuring different manufacturing blocks. HMT Colony is one good example that illustrates the characteristics of the place. Important industries located in the region are those of machine tools, pharmaceuticals, electrics, textiles and chemicals.

It serves as the most industrialized areas in Hyderabad.[1] But as the Hyderabad city grew with Greater Hyderabad, there are many other places which have dense industries beyond Jeedimetla.

Jeedimetla Industrial Area has institutions for transportation, education, shopping, and hospitals. It has adequate bus facilities to Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities. It has many schools that help literate children.

The famous region besides representing the downtown of the city also inhabits a good population. Most of the residents are employed in various industries that are replete here. To cater to the population are present local markets, health care institutes, schools and other institutions. Some residential places within the premises include Padmanagar, Chintal and Ayodhya Nagar.

Accessibility

Jeedimetla is the northern most region of Secunderabad and is about 12 km from the city center. Medak Road provides the access to the region. There are no train services. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is about 45 km from Jeedimetla and the Air Force Academy, Dundigul is about 9 km from Jeedimetla. One of the biggest cardiac hospitals 'Usha Mullapudi Cardiac center' (UMCC) is also situated in Jeedimetla. A TSRTC Bus Depot is also situated in Jeedimetla.

Hetero Drugs Limited has two formulation[2] and two API[3] manufacturing facilities located in Jeedimetla.
