In the Mahabharata epic, Madri (Sanskrit: माद्री; IAST: Mādrī; IPA/Sanskrit: [mɑːd̪riː] ) was a princess of the Madra Kingdom (IAST: Mādra; [mɑːd̪rə]) and the second wife of King Pāṇḍu. She gave birth to Nakula and Sahadeva using Kunti's boon.

Etymology

The word Mādrī means 'she who is the princess of Madra kingdom (Mādra)'.
