Merodach is a Duke of Hell in the service of Dispater, in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.

Publication history[edit]

Merodach first appears in Ed Greenwood's article "The Nine Hells Part I" in Dragon #75 (1983).[1]

Merodach was briefly detailed in Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells (2006).[2]

Merodach appears as a wolf with a diabolical human-like head with long spiraling longhorns. He has feathered wings but can fly only clumsily. He also has a prehensile serpent-like tail.

Merodach is a vassal of Dispater, who leads 21 companies of hamatula (bearded devils).
