Phoenix Marketcity is a shopping mall developed by The Phoenix Mills Co. Ltd., located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

It is the largest mall in Bangalore by area, occupying 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2)* with 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) of retail space on four floors, which houses over 270 stores, a nine-screen PVR Cinemas multiplex and a food court.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Retail, entertainment and restaurants

Retail outlets at the mall include Howards Storage World, Zara, Mango,Mebaz, Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, Marks and Spencer, and Steve Madden Electronics stores include Croma, Jumbo Electronics, Poorvika, Reliance Digital, and Sangeetha Mobiles.

The PVR Cinema multiplex has nine screens including 3D and 2K digital projection system, Dolby Surround 7.1 with recliner seats, food and beverages.

"Amoeba" is a games arcade with multi-player car racing conduits, air hockey and basketball games.

"Dialogue in the Dark" is an exhibition that takes place in complete darkness, putting visitors in everyday situations - like crossing the road, or going to the supermarket - but in complete darkness.

"PVR bluO" is a games, bowling, restaurant, music, and adventure zone.

The food court at the mall includes Wow Momo, Sbarro, Subway, and KFC. Fine dining at the mall includes Hanoi, Café Noir, California Pizza Kitchen, Copper Chimney, Coastabay, Noodle Bar, and Chilis.[7] Coffee and snack outlets include Starbucks, L'inoui, Dunkin Donuts, Mad Over Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Swensens, Belgyum, and Café Coffee Day.

Accidents and incidents

On 28 October 2013, the PVR multiplex along with 54 other shops in the mall were sealed for not having obtained trade licences from the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, but later reopened.[8]

On 18 May 2016, Phoenix Mall was raided along with other malls in the city, on a tip-off that they were ignoring the ban on plastic bags. Phoenix was one of the bigger violators and over 1000 kg of plastic bags were seized from the mall and a fine imposed.[9]
