Sioux Lookout Airport, (IATA: YXL, ICAO: CYXL), is a regional airport based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. The airport opened in 1933. It was, at the time, the second busiest airport in North America next to Chicago Midway International Airport .[4] Today, the airport is a "Mini-Hub" facilitating travel to and from all northern communities in Northwestern Ontario.
The airport is classified as an airport of entry by NAV CANADA and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA officers at this airport currently can handle general aviation aircraft only, with no more than 15 passengers.[1]
